Yeshayahu (Isaiah) chapter 26
Today we are walking in: STOP LETTING EVERYTHING SHAKE YOU PART 1
Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
PEACE
Today we look to the word—PEACE—H7965—shalom—completeness, soundness, welfare, peace; completeness in number; safety, soundness in body; welfare, health, prosperity; peace, quiet, tranquility, contentment; peace in human relationships; peace with Elohiym, especially in covenant relationship.

Let me begin with a question that may reveal why so many people are struggling emotionally today. Why does everything affect you so much? Why does one negative comment have the power to ruin an entire day? Why does one disappointment steal your joy? Why does one criticism keep replaying in your mind for hours? Why does one setback make you question your future? And why is it that some people seem calm, stable, and unshaken, while others are constantly disturbed by every opinion, every inconvenience, every problem, and every unexpected situation?
Think about that for a moment. Have you ever received ten compliments but spent the entire day thinking about the one criticism? Have you ever allowed one person’s opinion to carry more weight than Elohiym’s promises? Have you ever lost sleep worrying about something that never actually happened? Have you ever spent hours replaying a conversation in your mind, wishing you had said something differently? Have you ever allowed a temporary problem to steal a permanent peace that Elohiym intended for you to enjoy?
If we’re honest, most of us have, and that is exactly why this message matters, because one of the greatest thieves of purpose is not failure; it is distraction. One of the greatest thieves of joy is not adversity; it is overreaction. One of the greatest thieves of peace is not difficulty; it is giving too much power to things that should never have controlled us in the first place.
The truth is that many people are emotionally exhausted today, not because life is harder than it has ever been, but because they react to everything. Every opinion affects them. Every criticism affects them. Every inconvenience affects them. Every social media post affects them. Every delay affects them. Every disagreement affects them. Every piece of bad news affects them. Every rejection affects them. Every setback affects them. And after a while, they become emotionally drained.
Why? Because they are carrying things Elohiym never intended them to carry.
Imagine trying to walk through life carrying every stone you find along the road. At first, it may seem manageable. One stone is not heavy. Two stones are not heavy. Five stones are not heavy. But eventually, the weight becomes overwhelming. The problem is not the size of the stones. The problem is that you were never meant to carry all of them.
And many people are doing the same thing emotionally. They are carrying every offense, every criticism, every disappointment, every misunderstanding, every negative opinion, and every unnecessary burden. Then they wonder why they have no peace. They wonder why they feel overwhelmed. They wonder why they feel anxious. They wonder why they feel emotionally exhausted.
The answer is simple. They are reacting to everything.
Can I tell you something that might change your life? Not everything deserves your attention. Not everything deserves your response. Not everything deserves your energy. Not everything deserves your emotions. And certainly, not everything deserves your peace.
Some things are simply distractions. Some things are tests. Some things are opportunities to practice self-control. Some things are invitations to trust Elohiym more deeply. Yet many people treat every issue as an emergency. Every disagreement becomes a crisis. Every criticism becomes a personal attack. Every delay becomes a disaster. Every challenge becomes proof that something is wrong.
But what if the real problem is not the situation? What if the real problem is how we respond to the situation?
Because life has a way of revealing what is happening inside us. When a small inconvenience creates a massive reaction, it often reveals something deeper. When a simple comment destroys our confidence, it often reveals that we have attached our identity to people’s approval. When a minor setback ruins our entire week, it often reveals that our peace is depending on circumstances instead of Elohiym.
This is why emotional maturity is so important. Emotional maturity is not the absence of feelings. It is the ability to keep your feelings from controlling your life. It is learning to remain steady when everything around you is unstable. It is learning to stay focused when distractions appear. It is learning to remain peaceful when others are panicking. It is learning to trust Elohiym when circumstances are uncertain. And this is exactly what Elohiym desires for His children.
Listen carefully to Qolasiym (Colossians) chapter 3, verse 15. The Scripture says, “And let the peace of Elohiym rule in your hearts.”
Notice that word rule. The verse does not say let opinions rule your heart. It does not say let criticism rule your heart. It does not say let fear rule your heart. It does not say let circumstances rule your heart. It says let the peace of Elohiym rule in your heart.
A ruler governs. A ruler has authority. A ruler decides what is allowed and what is not allowed. And according to this verse, Elohiym’s peace should be the governing authority of your inner life.
Think about how different your life would be if Elohiym’s peace truly ruled your heart. What if criticism could not steal your confidence? What if rejection could not destroy your joy? What if delays could not steal your hope? What if difficult people could not control your emotions? What if unexpected problems could not shake your faith?
That does not mean challenges disappear. It means they lose their power to control you. Because when Elohiym’s peace rules your heart, external chaos no longer creates internal chaos. The storm may still exist around you, but the storm no longer exists within you.
That is how some people remain calm under pressure. That is how some people stay focused in difficult seasons. That is how some people continue moving forward despite criticism, setbacks, and obstacles. They have learned a secret: their peace comes from Elohiym, not from circumstances. And when peace comes from Elohiym, circumstances lose much of their ability to shake you.
Perhaps the reason you have been so exhausted lately is not because of everything happening around you. Perhaps it is because you have allowed too many things access to your peace. Perhaps you have been giving temporary situations permanent authority over your emotions. Perhaps you have been allowing people to occupy mental space they never earned. Perhaps you have been carrying burdens that belong in Elohiym’s hands.
But today, that can change. Today you can learn to guard your peace. Today you can learn to stop reacting to everything. Today you can learn to trust Elohiym more than your circumstances. Because the strongest people are not those who have the fewest problems. The strongest people are those who refuse to let every problem control them.
And this brings us to an important question: Why do some people seem emotionally stable while others are constantly shaken by every opinion, every criticism, and every challenge they face?
The answer begins with understanding where people place their identity.
And that is exactly what we are going to discover next.
