The Psalms of healing psalm 103 the medicine for the soul Psalm 103 is a treasure of wisdom and healing! that we too often over look in our daily lives! in the very first lines of this song David the Psalmist starts off as a profound statement about Yah’s power to heal us not just physically, but in every dimension of our being spirit, mind and body, it begins with a powerful declaration bless the Lord of my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name bless the Lord of my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgive it all inquiries who heal all the diseases Psalm 103 1-3 who healed all that diseases! how often do we pause to reflect on the depth of this promise! all the diseases such as the diseases we can see! the cancer, the heart conditions, the arthritis, but also the diseases of the heart, the mind and the spirit! we live in a world obsessed with physical healing and rightfully so! our bodies are important and the pains we endure are real yet someone calls our attention to the whole of our being! healing is not simply about getting a prescription from the doctor or undergoing a medical procedure true healing, the healing, the Psalmist speaks of his holistic healing! Feel like your brain craves pleasure as much as being a man of integrity encompasses our emotions our thoughts our brokenness and our spiritual well-being. David offers us the gift of understanding! that Yah’s healing isn’t limited to what we can see. It touches every area of our lives even the areas we don’t often think about! consider the story of a man named John! John had lived with chronic back pain for years. He visited countless doctors tried physical therapy and even resorted to surgery yet the pain remained after a failed procedure. John found himself in the dark place, struggling not just with his body, but with his purpose, his peace and his joy! His body was failing him, and with it, his spirit began to wither! one day in desperation John opened his Bible and began reading Psalm 103 as he read the words who healed all the diseases he stopped. He asked himself what if my healing isn’t just about this pain in my back? what if there is something deeper I need to heal from in other place in my life! That night John began to pray, not just for his back, but for his soul, he began to ask Yah to heal his wounded heart! to release the anger he had held toward others, and to restore his sense of joy and peace! slowly overtime John began to experience a change, not just in his body, but his outlook on life! his back pain didn’t disappear overnight, but his spirit was stronger the heaviness he had carried for years, began to lift. John’s experience is not uncommon many of us go through life treating symptoms with the physical, emotional or spiritual without ever addressing the root causes! Psalms 103 reminds us that Yah doesn’t just address symptoms. He heals from the inside out. The healing power in this Psalms goes deeper than a doctors Diagnosis! it penetrates our very soul. The next part of psalm 103 says who forgive us from all our iniquities! These words are crucial for they tie directly into the healing. We seek many times! when we experience sickness whether physical or emotional. There is a deeper issue at the root cause of disease. Suffering and pain is not simply an ailment, but an unresolved issue in the heart! unforgiveness!!! unforgiveness is like a poison. It is a burden we carry that wears us down mentally and emotionally when we refuse to forgive, we build walls around our hearts! walls block healing from flowing into our lives they destroyed our thoughts, cloud our vision and diminish our ability to experience, true peace, holding onto anger or bitterness doesn’t hurt the person we refuse to forgive it hurts us ! The Most High knew this and that is why forgiveness is the first step in healing! research back up studies have shown that unforgiveness can lead to higher levels of stress, anxiety, and even physical health issues such as hypertension and heart disease! when we choose to forgive our blood pressure drops, our hearts begin to calm, and our immune system become stronger, the simple act of letting go of anger can begin to unravel the pains in our hearts and overtime healing follows. Think of the story of Emily. Emily had suffered from chronic migraines for years. She tried medication acupuncture, and therapy yet nothing worked! one day during a counseling session. Emily‘s therapist asked her to think about any unresolved anger in her life as she closed her eyes. The image of her strange mother flashed in her mind. Emily had not spoken to her mother in years due to years of unresolved conflict, the anger she carried was festering inside her, poisoning her body and mind. Emily made a choice that day she chose to forgive her mother, not for her mother sake, but for her own, she took the first step toward emotional freedom and overtime, Something remarkable happened her migraines which had plaque her for years, began to lessen! She still had moments of tension, but the constant debilitating pain that had once defined her life slowly faded away! forgiveness like healing is not a one time event. It is a process. It is choosing to let go each day! but the more we release the more healing flows into us when David wrote, who forgive us all of our inquiries he was not just talking about forgiveness from Yah! He was talking about the kind of forgiveness that set us free from the chains that binds us! free from the wounds of the past! This process of healing through forgiveness is not always easy. It requires courage, vulnerability, and humility, but it is the only way to experience true restoration. The Psalmist doesn’t say who forgives some of your iniquities, but all of them! this means every past mistake! everything wrong you’ve carried with you is covered by Yah’s grace! Forgiving others may not immediately take away the pain, but it removes the bitterness that heals your soul! it opens the door to emotional healing. It softens the heart, allowing Yah’s love to fill the spaces that were once hardened by anger, resentment, and regret, and in that healing occurs, considered the profound words of CC Lewis, who ever wants to be love has to be vulnerable! when we forgive, we make ourselves vulnerable. We allow ourselves to be open to Yah’s grace and healing! Only when we open ourselves fully can we receive the healing from Yah!
Yah’s desires for us and so if you find yourself struggling today, whether with illness with emotional scars or with deep seated pain, take a moment to reflect on the power of forgiveness. Ask yourself is there anyone I need to forgive? Is there anyone, including myself that I need to release from the bondage of unforgiveness? The act of forgiveness is not for the other person it is for you. It is the key to your healing! through forgiveness, we reclaim our peace, our health and our joy. It is the first step in the journey of wholeness and it opens the door to all the other promises of healing Psalm 103 the Psalmist continues Who redeemed our life from destruction who crown us with loving kindness and tender mercies psalm 103:4 these words may seem simple at first glance, but they carry a profound promise. Redemption is more than just an abstract concept or religious terminology. It is the process of being brought back, restored and made whole! when we speak of redemption, we are not talking about an external change. We are talking about a radical internal transformation! a restoration of the soul. There are many people walking around today with broken hearts and wounded spirits. Some of these wounds are visible others are invisible, but just as painful! life has a way of knocking us down! people betray us jobs fail us love ones leave us and our dreams shattered! these experiences can leave us feeling like we are beyond repair! like we are just going through the motions of life with no purpose of direction Attempted yet that there is a divine promise of redemption available to each, and every one of us redemption is a promise of being saved from destruction! a promise of being rescued from the wreckage of our past mistakes. Regrets and tragedies! Yah doesn’t abandon us when we face destruction. He steps in to restore us. The word redeem itself means to buy back to reclaim and to restore to its original purpose. It’s the same word used when someone purchases slaves, freedom, or buys back something precious that was lost. this is the promise of Psalm 103 Yah is not only able to heal us from physical diseases or emotional wounds. He is also able to redeem our lives from the destruction that sin, regret and hardship have caused your life! no matter how broken it may seem it’s not beyond Yah’s redeeming power! let me illustrate this with a real life Example! take the story of James a man whose life seemed irreparably damaged. He had been through a painful divorce had lost his job and was struggling with addiction. He felt like a failure as though everything he built up in life was crumbling for years. James wander through life, hoping for a breakthrough, but never truly believing it could happen! One day he found himself reading Psalms 103 and when he reached the verse about redemption, something stirred inside him James realized that in the midst of his mistakes, Yah had not given up on him he was not beyond Hope! his life could be redeemed. James didn’t immediately get everything he wanted. Redemption doesn’t always happen overnight. It’s a journey, but as he took small steps toward restoring his relationship with Yah! and as he began to make amends with others, he started to see redemption! he found a new job ! rebuilt his relationships with his children, and most importantly, he began to heal emotionally! his life once filled with destruction was now being reclaimed and restored! you might be asking how does redemption work in our daily lives! how does it look when we feel so broken! Redemption isn’t about pretending that the pain didn’t happen or ignoring the past it’s about recognizing that even in our brokenness, Yah can make something beautiful! redemption means that your pass does not define you. It doesn’t matter how many mistakes you’ve made! how many failures you endure or how much shame you carry. The promise of redemption is that Yah can take the wreckage of your life and make something good out of it. What has been destroyed can be rebuilt and what has been lost can be found again The process of redemption may require effort, patience, and sometimes even sacrifice, but in the end it brings freedom. It frees us from the chains of our past! from the weight of guilt and regret. Yah’s redemption is the ultimate reset button for the soul. It restores us to our original design, reminding us that we were made for more than failure! shame or destruction Psalms 103 continues to describe the benefits of Yah’s healing with the words who crowned you with loving kindness and tender mercies In Psalms 103:4 these words of grace, compassion and restoration! a crown in biblical term symbolizes honor our victory and the fullness of life in this verse. David declares that Yah crowns us with loving kindness and tender mercies, to which we are always see the essence of Yah’s heart for his people. They are the source of our healing, and the key to our restoration. Loving kindness is a word we don’t often hear enough in today’s world! in a culture that value speed, success, and self-sufficiency kindness often feels like a rare commodity. Yet, Yah’s loving kindness is an unbreakable bond of affection, care and loyalty toward us. It’s the kind of love that never gives up that never leaves, and that always seeks to restore! when we feel abandoned, discouraged or overlooked, Yah’s loving kindness surrounds us! it gives us hope and assurance that we are never truly alone. Tender mercies are the compassionate actions of a Yah who understands our pain, the judgments and unforgiving standards that many of us face in the world. Yah’s mercy is gentle patient and filled with grace Mercy is what gives us the chance to start over to receive forgiveness even when we don’t deserve it. It is through mercy that healing happens consider the woman caught an adultery described in John 8:3 from she had been dragged before Yahusha humiliated and condemned by the religious leaders. She deserved judgment , punishment and rejection but Yahusha in his mercy stepped in and declared….. let him who is without sin cast the first stone! One by one her accusers walked away. Yahusha did not condemn her. Instead, he offered her mercy in a new beginning, he told her go and sin no more. This is what it means to be crowned with loving kindness and tender mercies. Yah doesn’t just forgive us from a distance. He comes close. He meet us in our brokenness and crowns us with a crown of restoration!
It tells us that despite past mistakes and the suffering we’ve endure, we are still worthy of love, dignity and grace. When we wear this crown, we are reminded that we are Yah’s children, and he has an eternal purpose for our life in our world. It’s easy to feel disqualified. We are often told that we are not enough that we must perform achieve or look a certain way in order to be accepted Yet the message of psalm 103 is radical. Yah crowns us with his loving kindness and tender mercies not because we’ve earned it, but because he loves us deeply, his love for us is not based on our performance or our circumstance. It is unconditional and it is this love that heals us! Crown of loving kindness and tender mercies. Also speaks to the nature of Yah’s healing! healing doesn’t happen through harshness or condemnation. It happens through kindness, compassion, and mercy. When we embrace these qualities, we not only experience healing ourselves, but we become agents of healing for others. When we live out Yah’s loving kindness and tender mercies we become conduits of his grace in a broken world. Yah’s crown of mercy and kindness is the crown of ultimate restoration. It doesn’t just cover our physical wounds, it covers our hearts! Yah’s spirit reminds us that we are love beyond value! beyond our mistakes and restore to our rightful places, his beloved children this is the crown and glory of healing. It is not only what Yah does for us, but what he enables us to become through his loving kindness and tender mercies, we are made whole again as we reflect on the power of Psalm 103 and the incredible healing it promises. Let us remember that this healing is not merely a distant hope or a far off ideal. It is available to us right here! right now. Some words are a declaration of Yah enduring love and his desire to restore us physically emotionally and spiritually when we speak of Yah healing all of our diseases we are talking about healing that goes far beyond the body. It’s a restoration of the heart the mind and the soul a complete healing that touches every area of our lives l! Through forgiveness. We break free from the chains of bitterness anger and regrets allowing healing to flow into our hearts through redemption, we are reminded that no matter how broken our past may seem, Yah has the power to restore us and give us a fresh start and through his loving kindness and tender mercies. We are crowned with Grace dignity and honor, reminding us that we are worthy of healing and wholeness. Yah doesn’t just heal us and leave us where we are. He transforms us. He heals us so that we can become vessels of healing to others. We are his agents in a broken world! called to extend the same loving kindness and mercy that we have received! so no matter where you find yourself today! whether you struggling with physical illness, emotional pain or spiritual brokenness. Remember that healing is within your reach Psalm 103 is not just a beautiful song. It is the blueprint for total Restoration. Yah is not finished with you. You are not beyond his reach and your life is not beyond his redemption, you are crowned with his mercy! covered by his grace and promised healing in every part of your being! embrace This promise!! walk in this truth and allow the healing power of Yah to transform your life today!!you are healed. You are redeemed that you are loved beyond measure and that is the truth that will never change. ALL PRAISES TO THE MOST HIGH YAH!!!!!
