We are walking in today: Teach Us To Pray.
Luke 11:1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. Isn't it interesting to note that the disciples never asked Jesus to teach them how to perform miracles or how to become prosperous or how to heal sickness? All they asked Jesus to teach them was, how to pray. Why? Because, prayer is the only way to get anything from heaven. In Luke 11:1, the Bible declares that the disciples said to Jesus, Lord, teach us to pray as John also taught his disciples. Prayer is the key to unlock any closed door. Jesus prayed almost one third of the day. Jesus prayed to raise Lazarus from the tomb. The Bible declares in Matthew 18:19 that, Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. You can not hold God accountable if you haven't given your requests to God in prayer. Like the disciples, we need to ask God to teach us to pray. It is not enough to pray the same prayer that we have prayed always. We need to ask Jesus to teach us how to pray. The Holy Spirit is a great teacher. He will teach us if we ask Him. Do not let strife hinder your prayers. One of the greatest hindrances to prayer is strife. Let not your prayers be hindered!!!! One key area we as believers should work on is the area of relationships. We want to be prayer warriors on one side, but we have criticized one another and judged one another so much that we have caused strife to come upon us on the other side. Strife in the family, strife with the fellow believers--has paralyzed the power of prayer. The Bible tells us in James 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. That is so true!! We need to wake up to the danger of strife and begin to forgive people as quickly as we can for our own good. We need to walk in love and people should see the love of Christ in us. Ephesians 4:3-4 3) Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4) There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling. We need to make sure, all the relationships we have in the family, in the church, at work and with our neighbors are right in the sight of God. We need to make sure there is peace in all the relationships we have. Otherwise, our prayers will be hindered!!! Prayer is spending time with God. I know this may sound strange, but God is not looking for people who look good. He is not impressed by the fact that you know most of the scriptures or that fluently you could speak in tongues. God is not looking for you to pray like some warrior. What God is looking for is time with you. He wants you to talk to Him and to spend time with Him in fellowship and friendship. He wants to talk to you as well. Prayer is an overflow of a love relationship with God. Prayer is your secret weapon. No weapon formed against you shall prosper. God has given us a secret weapon. I call it a secret because, no one knows when you are going to pray. You may be driving, but praying. You may be cooking your food and still be praying. Certainly, the devil does not know a thing about when you will start binding his works. No one can stop you from praying. Come boldly to the throne. When you invited Jesus into your life, one of the things you received is access to the throne of God Almighty. It is like a pass to the throne room of God Almighty. You can come to His throne whenever you want and stay as long as you want to. But most people do not pray like they believe it. Come with boldness, fiveamprayer. We have the weapons of mass destruction!!! Yea and Amen!!!
I don't know about you but, we need to go to the Father and ask Him to teach us how to pray. We ask for forgiveness, Lord so that our prayers are not hindered. Mark 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Fiveamprayer, spend time with God. Walk with Him. Thank You for prayer. Thank You for teaching us how to pray. How to magnify and exalt You, Lord. Prayer gives us a way out of no way. We can stand on His word, with prayers and supplications, receiving what we ask. Teach us how to walk Your way. Teach us not to faint. Let us stand--no matter what comes. The disciples didn't ask how to perform miracles or to heal, they asked how to pray. Luke 11:2-4 2) And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. 3) Give us day by day our daily bread. 4) And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Teach us to come to You, Father. We try to fix things on our own--stop and go directly to the Father in heaven. Fiveamprayer, walk and talk with God everyday. How many of us get up praying all day? James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. While we are in His presence in prayer, He will tell us what to ask for. Thank You Lord, for making a way for us. We want to stay in Your will, pleasing the Father. Make another request, fiveamprayer. The requests that were made regarding business, marriages, finances and a closer walk with God have been answered. Make another request. Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. Matthew 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. Call on the name of Jesus, the enemy has to flee. Come before the Father, turning it all over to Him. All sufficiency lies in You, Lord. We don't hold on to strife, envy or unforgiveness. Fiveamprayer, let us get all of our relationships right with God. Forgive so that God will hear your prayers. No one can fix it but, Him. We walk by faith, not by sight. Don't let your prayers be hindered--forgive your brothers and sisters. God keeps forgiving you, how can you not forgive someone else?! Thank You for teaching us how to pray. It's time for another request. Ecclesiastes 9:11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. We must be in constant prayer, give it all over to Him. He will give you knowledge, wisdom and understanding. Lord give us a heart that will forgive. We want to be closer to You, Lord. Let it go or your prayers will be hindered. We are in fellowship with the Lord, in prayer. The devil will not know when we are binding up his works. Matthew 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Make another request, it is prayer time. He is teaching us how to pray and forgive. We lift up fiveamprayer, let them know that we are seeking You, Father. We ask for forgiveness, sometimes we don't want to forgive others. Thank You Lord for showing us how to forgive, for when You forgive there is no condemnation. Fiveamprayer, forgive so that your prayers are not hindered.
We write in the precious blood: 1 Chronicles 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

You better make another request. It is prayer time. Send up a request for a closer walk with Him. He is our increase and blessing. We are more than overcomers, more than conquerors. He is teaching us how to pray. Are you really walking in forgiveness? Let it go, it is hindering your prayers. Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. The disciples asked Him how to pray. Fiveamprayer, let us ask the same, "teach us Father how to pray." We must get our relationship in order with God. Make a request for a closer walk with God. Your prayers should tell Him that He is awesome. That we choose to worship Him. We can walk by faith and not by sight. That we can tell the mountain to move and because of our belief and faith it will be cast into the sea. If we believe fiveamprayer, we shall receive. We love You Father, You have been better to us, than we have been to ourselves. He has brought us out of darkness into His marvelous light. The joy of the Lord is our strength. We shall reap the harvest if we faint not. Fiveamprayer, we are to pray and not faint. We are walking around in the mind of Christ, the renewed mind, with the activity of our limbs. Thank You Lord for keeping us while the world is in a recession. Thank You Lord for being our friend when we didn't have anyone else. Teach us how to pray, Lord. Thank You Lord for all that You have done. You gave Your Son, so we could have life more abundantly with You. Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. Fiveamprayer, now we can say, "what now devil?" The Father did not give us the spirit of fear. As Pastor Taffe taught last night, that if our decisions are based on fear we are not walking in His will. That is why a renewed mind is so important. Get into His presence and let Him do the word, crucifying the flesh and keeping your mind. Fragile, but made stronger by prayer. He is teaching us something, pay attention fiveamprayer. In all of our getting get wisdom, knowledge and understanding. People should see the love of Christ in you. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in this world. The Lord is teaching us how to pray. Read the scriptures for yourself today. Do a self check--are you walking in strife and unforgiveness?
