The True Origin of Christmas
Where did Christmas originate? From the Bible or paganism? What is the real origin of Santa Claus—mistletoe—Christmas trees—holly wreaths—and the custom of exchanging gifts? Many are concerned about putting “Christ back into Christmas.” Was He ever there? Here are the stunning answers!
Every year after Thanksgiving, most people's thoughts turn to Christmas. It is the time when professing Christians are supposed to focus on Yahusha Hamachiach. After all, it is the “Christ-mass” season!
Christmas is thought by most to be a wonderful time, focusing the participants on giving, family togetherness, beautiful music and decorations, feasting on special foods and singing Christmas carols throughout the neighborhood (as my family did every year). All of this is supposedly centered around the worship of HaMaschich. Surely the Bible instructs us to do all this—right?
The answers will shock you!
Why do people think that Christmas is wonderful? Most never reflect on why they believe what they believe or do what they do. We live in a world filled with customs, but few ever seek to understand their origin. We generally accept them without question. Most people basically do what everyone else does—because it is easy and natural!
Let's carefully examine the roots of Christmas. Let's look at why people follow the customs associated with it. Why is it kept on December 25th? Did the early New Testament Church keep it? This article is filled with facts from history that, when placed together, paint a complete picture. Let's avoid all assumptions and only accept what can be PROVEN!
Pagan Origin
In 1990, the Solon, Ohio (a Cleveland suburb) school board banned all nativity and other Christmas scenes on any school property because they felt it violated the separation of church and state. They were challenged in court when outraged parents opposed them, feeling that Christmas was being stolen from their children and the community. The board lost the case! The citizenry had contended that Christmas was a worldwide tradition that was not part of, and transcended, religion. It was deemed to be secular—a part of virtually all cultures worldwide.
The court decision affirmed that Christmas has no Christian roots! However, the court's opinion also noted that Bible reading and prayer obviously are associated with Christ-ianity—a remarkable admission! The court concluded that Christmas-keeping and manger scenes could remain because they are not really part of either Christianity or religion—but prayer and Bible reading, which are, must remain excluded from schools!
Nearly all aspects of Christmas observance have their roots in Roman custom and religion. Consider the following admission from a large American newspaper (The Buffalo News, Nov. 22, 1984): “The earliest reference to Christmas being marked on Dec. 25 comes from the second century after Yahusha's birth. It is considered likely the first Christmas celebrations were in reaction to the Roman Saturnalia, a harvest festival that marked the winter solstice—the return of the sun—and honored Saturn, the god of sowing. Saturnalia was a rowdy time, much opposed by the more austere leaders among the still-minority Christian sect. Christmas developed, one scholar says, as a means of replacing worship of the sun with worship of the Son. By 529 A.D., after Christianity had become the official state religion of the Roman Empire, Emperor Justinian made Christmas a civic holiday. The celebration of Christmas reached its peak—some would say its worst moments—in the medieval period when it became a time for conspicuous consumption and unequaled revelry.”
Consider these quotes from the Catholic Encyclopedia, 1911 edition, under “Christmas”: “Christmas was not among the earliest festivals of the Church…the first evidence of the feast is from Egypt.” Further, “Pagan customs centering around the January calendars gravitated to Christmas.” Under “Natal Day,” Origen, an early Catholic writer, admitted, “…In the Scriptures, no one is recorded to have kept a feast or held a great banquet on his birthday. It is only sinners (like Pharaoh and Herod) who make great rejoicings over the day in which they were born into this world” (emphasis mine).
The Encyclopedia Americana, 1956 edition, adds, “Christmas…was not observed in the first centuries of the Christian church, since the Christian usage in general was to celebrate
the death of remarkable persons rather than their birth…a feast was established in memory of this event [Christ's birth] in the fourth century. In the fifth century the Western Church ordered the feast to be celebrated forever on the day of the Mithraic rites of the birth of the sun and at the close of the Saturnalia, as no certain knowledge of the day of Christ's birth existed.”
There is no mistaking the origin of the modern Christmas celebration. Many additional sources could be cited and we will return to this later. Let's begin to tie some other facts together.
It was 300 years after Hamachiach before the Roman church kept Christmas, and not until the fifth century that it was mandated to be kept throughout the empire as an official festival honoring HaMaschiach.
Can Hamachiach Be Honored by Christmas?
The most common justification that one will hear regarding Christmas is that people have replaced old pagan customs and intents by asserting that they are now “focusing on Christ.” I have heard many say that they are “honoring Christ” in their Christmas-keeping. The problem is that The does not say this is acceptable to Him! Actually, He plainly commands against it! Keeping Christmas dishonors Christ! He considers everything about it to be an abomination! We will soon see why.
Yahusha said, But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Mattithyahu (Matthew) 15:9 | את Cepher. Christmas is not a command of The Most High—it is a tradition of men. Christ continued, And he said unto them: Full well ye reject the commandment of Elohiym, that ye may guard your own tradition. Marqus (Mark) 7:9 | את Cepher. Every year, throughout the world, on December 25th, hundreds of millions do just that!
We will see that The Most High plainly commands, “Follow not the way of the heathen.” But most people do not fear The Most High, and He allows them to make their own decisions. Human beings are free moral agents—free to obey or disobey The Most High! But woe to those who ignore the plain Word of The Most High!
Was Christ Born on December 25th?
Christ was born in the fall of the year. Many have mistakenly believed He was born around the beginning of winter—December 25th! They are wrong! Notice the Adam Clarke Commentary, volume 5, page 370, New York edition: “It was custom among Hebrews to send out their sheep to the deserts about the Passover [early spring], and bring them home at the commencement of the first rain.” The first rains began in early-to-mid fall. Continuing with this same quote: “During the time they were out, the shepherds watched them night and day. As…the first rain began early in the month of March-esvan, which answers to part of our October and November [begins sometime in October], we find that the sheep were kept out in the open country during the whole summer. And as these shepherds had not yet brought home their flocks, it is a presumptive argument that October had not yet commenced, and that, consequently, our Lord was not born on the 25th of December, when no flocks were out in the fields; nor could He have been born later than September, as the flocks were still in the fields by night. On this very ground, the nativity in December should be given up. The feeding of the flocks by night in the fields is a chronological fact…See the quotations from the Talmudists in Lightfoot.”
Luke 2:8 explains that when HaMaschiach was born, “there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.” Note that they were “abiding” in the field. This never happened in December. Both Ezra 10:9-13 and the Song of Solomon 2:11 show that winter was the rainy season and shepherds could not stay on cold, open fields at night.
Numerous encyclopedias plainly state that Christ was not born on December 25th! The Catholic Encyclopedia directly confirms this. In all likelihood, Yahusha was born in the fall! A lengthy technical explanation would prove this point.
Since we now know that December 25th was nowhere near Yahusha's actual birthdate, where did the festival associated with this date come from?
Now read this quote under “Christmas”: “In the Roman world, the Saturnalia (December 17) was a time of merrymaking and exchanging of gifts. December 25 was also regarded as the birthdate of the Iranian mystery god Mithra, the Sun of Righteousness. On the Roman New Year (January 1), houses were decorated with greenery and lights, and gifts were given to children and the poor. To these observances were added the German and Celtic Yule rites when the Teutonic tribes penetrated into Gaul, Britain and central Europe. Food and good fellowship, the Yule log and Yule cakes, greenery and fir trees, gifts and greetings all commemorated different aspects of this festive season. Fires and lights, symbols of warmth and lasting life, have always been associated with the winter festival, both pagan and Christian” (Encyclopedia Britannica, 15th ed., vol. II, p. 903).
A final quote about the selection of December 25th as the birthdate of HaMaschiah is necessary. Note an article in The Toronto Star, December 1984, by Alan Edmonds, entitled, “We owe a lot to Druids, Dutch”: “The Reformation cast a blight on Christmas. By then, of course, clever ecclesiastical politicians had adopted the Pagan mid-winter festival as the alleged birthdate of Yahusha, of Nazareth, and thrown in a few other Pagan goodies to make their takeover more palatable.”
December 25th was not selected because it was the birth of Christ or because it was even near it. It was selected because it coincided with the idolatrous pagan festival Saturnalia—and this celebration must be carefully examined. In any event, we do not know the exact date of Christ's birth. While The Most High certainly could have made it known, He chose to hide it from the world's eyes!
What About Santa Claus?
Parents reason that they owe the whole Christmas myth to their children! Christmas traditions are focused primarily on kids, and they are certainly the center of most of what happens. I know many children who are the recipients of much and the givers of very little on that day—and it all started with the Santa Claus lie.
Some years ago, a priest in New Jersey told his Sunday school class that Santa was a myth. The outrage from parents and his supervisors was swift. He had “killed Santa!” He had “destroyed family tradition!” He had “usurped family authority,” the article continued. He was officially censored by his superiors for being “overzealous and insensitive.”
His crime? He told the truth!
According to Langer's Encyclopedia of World History, (article “Santa”), “Santa” was a common name for Nimrod throughout Asia Minor. This was also the same fire god who came down the chimneys of the ancient pagans and the same fire god to whom infants were burned and eaten in human sacrifice among those who were once The Most High's people.
Today Santa Claus comes from “Saint Nicholas.” Washington Irving, in 1809, is responsible for remaking the original old, stern bishop of this same name into the new “jolly St. Nick” in his Knickerbocker History of New York. (Most of the rest of America's Christmas traditions are even more recent than this.) “Old Nick” has long been recognized as a term for the devil.
In Revelation 2:6 and 15, we read about a “doctrine of the Nicolaitanes,” which Yahusha twice tells His Church “[He] hates.” Let's analyze the word Nicolaitane. It means “follower of Nicholas.” Nikos means “conqueror, destroyer.” Laos means “people.” Nicolaitanes, then, are people who follow the conqueror or destroyer—Nimrod. If you have believed that following Christmas is an innocent Christian custom, let this truth sink in!
Is It Scriptural to Exchange Gifts?
Merchants regularly report that over 60% of their annual retail sales occur during the Christmas shopping season. This represents a tremendous amount of gift buying. Most today believe that gift-giving comes from the Bible example of the “three wise men” (the Bible gives no number) presenting gifts to Christ. Is this true? Where did exchanging gifts come from, and what does The Most High's Word say about it?
The Bibliotheca Sacra states, “The interchange of presents between friends is a like characteristic of Christmas and the Saturnalia, and must have been adopted by Christians from the pagans, as the admonition of Tertullian plainly shows” (Vol. 12, pp. 153-155).
Like every other aspect of Christmas, the shocking truth is that even this supposed Christian custom does not come from the Bible. It is an irony that people love to believe they are following the custom of the wise men giving to Christ, when actually they are giving almost exclusively to each other! What hypocrisy! Yahusha is completely forgotten.
The Bible actually teaches that Christians should not keep birthdays. Numerous scriptures make this principle clear. However, what if you went to a birthday party that had been prepared for you and everybody gave gifts to each other and you were left out? The idea is ridiculous! If this happened, you would say that people were being selfish and forgetting you. In fact, most people give to others on Christmas merely because they expect to receive gifts themselves!
Let's briefly return to the “wise men” who gave gifts to Christ. The scripture describing this is Matthew 2:1-11: “Now when Yahusha was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is He that is born King of the Hebrews?…And when they were come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.”
It is commonly supposed that these were birthday presents for “baby Yahusha.” But is this what the Bible actually says? Absolutely not! First, it is important to note that they did give the gifts to Yahusha. They did not stand in his presence and exchange gifts among themselves or give them to others. The gifts were “presented unto Him.” Also, they arrived well after his “birthday.” This is another reason these could not have been “birthday presents.”
A long-standing, ancient custom of the East was to present gifts when coming before a king. These men understood they were in the presence of the “King of the Hebrews.” The Bible carries many examples of people sending gifts to kings or presenting them upon arrival into their presence. This custom is common today when ambassadors or others come into the presence of a world leader.
Finally, notice what the Adam Clarke Commentary, volume 5, page 46, states about what really happened on this occasion: “Verse 11. They presented unto him gifts. The people of the east never approach the presence of kings and great personages, without a present in their hands. This custom is often noticed in the Old Testament, and still prevails in the east, and in some of the newly discovered South Seas Islands.” Gifts were customarily presented to kings.
What could be more plain?
Origin of the Christmas Tree
No article about Christmas is complete without some explanation of the “Christmas tree.” We have touched on it without directly focusing on it. The modern Christmas tree originated in Germany. But the Germans got it from the Romans, who got it from the Babylonians and the Egyptians.
The following demonstrates what the Babylonians believe about the origin of the Christmas tree: “An old Babylonish fable told of an evergreen tree which sprang out of a dead tree stump. The old stump symbolized the dead Nimrod, the new evergreen tree symbolized that Nimrod had come to life again in Tammuz! Among the Druids the oak was sacred, among the Egyptians it was the palm, and in Rome it was the fir, which was decorated with red berries during the Saturnalia!” (Walsh, Curiosities of Popular Customs, p. 242).
Frederick J. Haskin's Answers to Questions states, “The Christmas tree is from Egypt, and its origin dates from a period long anterior to the Christmas Era.” Did you know this—that the Christmas tree long preceded Christianity?
Most aspects of Christmas are not referred to in the Bible. Of course, the reason is that they are not from The Most High—they are not part of the way He wants people to worship Him. The Christmas tree, however, is directly mentioned in the Bible! Turn to Jeremiah 10:2-5, Thus says Yahuah: Learn not the way of the heathen and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it moves not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 10:2-5 | את Cepher
This plain description of the modern Christmas tree is clear. The Most High directly refers to it as “the way of the heathen.” Just as directly, He commands His people to “learn not the way of the heathen,” calling these customs “vain.” Verse 23 adds a remarkable and powerful statement: “O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walks to direct his [own] steps.” The Most High must teach people how to live. Man simply cannot figure out The Most High's ways for himself.
There is no room in Jeremiah 10 to believe, as some have tried to suggest, that because these trees are powerless of themselves, it is not really forbidden to have a Christmas tree. The Most High condemns the putting up of pagan (Christmas) trees with this plain Bible command!
The Source of Holly Wreaths, Yule Logs and Mistletoe
The Encyclopedia Americana states, “The holly, the mistletoe, the Yule log…are relics of pre-Christian time.” In other words, paganism! The Yule log was commonly used in a rite of Teutonic nature worship.
Frederick Haskin further states, “The use of Christmas wreaths is believed by authorities to be traceable to the pagan customs of decorating buildings and places of worship at the feast which took place at the same time as Christmas.”
The Encyclopedia Britannica, under “Celastrales,” exposes the origin of the holly wreath: “European pagans brought holly sprays into their homes, offering them to the fairy people of the forests as refuge from the harsh winter weather. During the Saturnalia, the Roman winter festival, branches of holly were exchanged as tokens of friendship. The earliest Roman Christians apparently used holly as a decoration at the Christmas season.”
There are dozens of different types of holly. Virtually all of them come in male and female varieties—such as “Blue Prince and Blue Princess” or “Blue Boy and Blue Girl” or “China Boy and China Girl.” Female holly plants cannot have berries unless a nearby male plant pollinates them. It is easy to see why the holly wreath found its way into pagan rituals as a token of friendship and fertility!
Christmas is incomplete to many unless it involves “kissing under the mistletoe.” This pagan custom was natural on a night that involved much revelry done in the spirit of drunken orgies. Just like today, this “kissing” usually occurred at the beginning of any modern Saturnalia/Christmas celebration. I will never forget having to always kiss my friends' mothers upon entering each of their houses every Christmas. It was the first thing that we did. I hated it—but it was something I “had to do”! Mistletoe was considered to have special powers of healing for those who “reveled” under it.
The Encyclopedia Britannica, under “Santalales,” states, “The European mistletoe is thought to have had special ritual significance in Druidical ceremonies and lives in folklore today, its special status as the Christmas mistletoe having come from Anglo-Saxon times.” Mistletoe is a parasite that lives on oak trees. (Recall that the Druids worshipped in oak tree groves.) The ancient Celtics (associated with the Druids) used to give mistletoe as an herbal remedy to barren animals to make them fertile. It is still referred to as “all healer” in Celtic.
Like mistletoe, holly berries were also thought to be sacred to the sun god. The original “sun log” came to be called the yule log. “Yule” simply means “wheel,” which has long been a pagan representation of the sun. No wonder people today commonly speak of the “sacred yule-tide season.”
What Should You Do?
Finally, let's examine what The Most High told His people they should do and the way they ought to teach their children.
Human beings do not want to obey The Most High (Rom. 8:7). They would rather follow their own “imagination.” They do not understand that The Most High wants their lives to go “well.” He wants happiness, joy and blessings to flow into people's lives. All these are the results of obeying Him.
The Most High inspired Moses to warn parents of the grave responsibility that they have in what and how they teach their children. Notice His instruction in Deuteronomy 6:1, 6-7, 20-21, 25: “Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which Yahuah Elohaykem commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it: That you might fear Yahuah Elohayka, to guard all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, you, and your son, and your son's son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged. Hear therefore, O Yashar'el, and guard to do it; that it may be well with you, and that ye may increase mightily, as Yahuah Elohai of your fathers has promised you, in the land that flows with milk and honey. Hear, O Yashar'el: Yahuah Elohaynu, Yahuah is one: And you shall love את Yahuah Elohayka with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart: And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them upon the posts of your house, and on your gates. And it shall be, when Yahuah Elohayka shall have brought you into the land which he swore seven oaths unto your fathers, to Avraham, to Yitschaq, and to Ya'aqov, to give you great and goodly cities, which you built not, And houses full of all good things, which you filled not, and wells dug, which you dug not, vineyards and olive trees, which you planted not; when you shall have eaten and be full; Then beware lest you forget Yahuah, which brought you forth out of the land of Mitsrayim, from the house of bondage. You shall fear Yahuah Elohayka, and serve him, and shall swear seven oaths by his name. Ye shall not go after other elohiym, of the elohiym of the people which are round about you; (For Yahuah Elohayka is a jealous El among you) lest the anger of Yahuah Elohayka be kindled against you and destroy you from off the face of the earth. Ye shall not tempt Yahuah Elohaykem, as ye tempted him in Maccah. Ye shall diligently guard the commandments of Yahuah Elohaykem, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he has commanded you. And you shall do that which is right and good in the sight of Yahuah: that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land which Yahuah swore seven oaths unto your fathers, To cast out all your enemies from before you, as Yahuah has spoken. And when your son asks you in time to come, saying: What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Yahuah Elohaynu has commanded you? Then you shall say unto your son: We were Phar'oh's bondmen in Mitsrayim; and Yahuah brought us out of Mitsrayim with a mighty hand: And Yahuah showed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Mitsrayim, upon Phar'oh, and upon all his household, before our eyes: And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he swore seven oaths unto our fathers. And Yahuah commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Yahuah Elohaynu, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. And it shall be our righteousness, if we guard to do all these commandments before Yahuah Elohaynu, as he has commanded us. Devariym (Deuteronomy) 6:1-25 | את
The Most High took Israel out of Egypt—out of the customs of the world around them and revealed His Law to them. He does not want His people going back to the traditions, customs and ways from which He has called them.
When all of the interconnected traditions, filled with the symbolism of worshiping an ancient pagan, humanly devised god, are taught, this is not worshiping the true Creator.
The prophet Isaiah was inspired to write, “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up your voice like a trumpet, and show My people their transgression” (58:1). I have done this.
Shema Selah let us consider the origin of that thing!!!

Grand Rising Fiveamprayer family!! We have a fourth man in the fire with us! He doesn’t walk away when it gets messy! what he began in you whether it started as a whisper of Hope or a radical transformation! he will finish that versus isn’t a motivational quote. It’s a divine promise so don’t give up on yourself when Yah hasn’t don’t close the book on a story he’s still writing! more over let’s expose one of the most paralyzing lies. I’ve messed up too badly! Doubt whispers guilt and the haunting highlights everything you wish you could undo. Maybe you’ve made decisions that hurt people! maybe you’ve walked down paths you swore you’d never go and now condemnation has made itself at home in your heart. This is where Grace rewrite your story. Isaiah chapter 1 verse 18 offers an invitation directly from the heart of Yah come now, let us reason together says The Most High Yah, though your sins are like Scarlet they shall be as white as snow, though they are red as crimson they should be like wool!! That’s not denial of your past it’s redemption of your future! he’s not asking you to pretend it never happened. He’s offering to clean it. Heal it and turn it into a testimony. Your worst mistake doesn’t cancel your calling. Yah’s mercy goes deeper than your mess. Furthermore, I wanna pause here and ask you to reflect! be honest! What lie has held you hostage the longest? is it the belief that you’re not enough that you’ll never truly change! that what you’ve done is unforgivable whatever it is I want you to identify it. Call it out because you can’t conquer what you’re unwilling to confront and here’s the truth. Yah is not afraid of your brokenness! He specializes in turning shattered pieces into stained glass stories of grace! let me live with this truth Isn’t just something you hear something you stand on and if you don’t stand on truth, you’ll sync in lies! so today we don’t just reject the lies we replace them. We replace the word we choose to believe it, even if our feelings haven’t caught up yet because when the truth of Yah’s word enters, freedom follows! you were made for truth! and you were made to live free in the renewing power of Yah’s mind shaping that truth! Let’s keep going. There’s more transformation now. Let’s look at the biblical example. Examples of mind battles that changed history! have you ever wondered why the strongest people in the Bible weren’t always the most confident! the most put together or the most mentally stable! sometimes we assume that great faith means never struggling in the mind, but that’s far from the truth. In fact, some of the most powerful moments in scripture happen not when someone stood on a mountain, but when they were flat on their face in mental and emotional turmoil , the battlefield of the mind is not a new war it’s ancient and what’s beautiful about the word of Yah is that it doesn’t hide it. It shows us the raw unfiltered truth even the people Yah use mightily wrestle with deep mental battles, but here’s the key. They didn’t stay there and neither will you! let’s begin with Moses you think a man called to deliver an entire nation would be bold and eloquent right not even close in Exodus chapter 4 versus 10 to 13 Moses says to Yah, pardon your servant Yah I have never been eloquent. I’m slow of speech and tongue And then he literally tells Yah please send someone else. Can you imagine standing in front of the burning bush, hearing the voice of the Almighty and still saying I can’t do this. That’s the power of insecurity that blinds you to the greatness within you. Moses didn’t see a leader. He saw a limitation, but Yah saw destiny and here’s a stunning part. Yah didn’t wait for Moses to become eloquent before using him. He used him as he was and perfected him along the way, so the next time insecurity grips you remember Moses! Yah isn’t looking for perfection! He’s looking for surrender! likewise come to Gideon hiding in fear threshing weed in a wine press that’s already a red flag you don’t threshed weed in a wine press unless you try to hide! in judges chapter 6 versus 11 to 16 the angel of the Lord appears and call him Mighty Warrior and Gideon response. Pardon me, Lord, but how can I lead Israel? My clan is the weakest and I am the least in my family isn’t it interesting how Yah speaks identity but we respond with insecurity! But he was focused on where he came from. Yah was focused on where he was taking him and the turning point wasn’t when Gideon suddenly got brave it was when he believed what Yah said over what his mind screamed! some of you are one belief away from your breakthrough it’s not about your background. It’s about what Yah is birthing through you! Now moving on. Let’s talk about Elijah. This one is especially for those who are tired not just physically tired but mentally tired in 1st Kings chapter 19 versus 3 to 5 after calling down fire from heaven and defeating hundreds of false profits Elijah gets one threatening message from Jezebel and runs for his life end up under a broom tree. praying that he might die. He says I’ve had enough Yah take my life that’s burnout that’s depression. That’s a great man of God at the end of his rope, but Yah didn’t scold him. He didn’t say where’s your faith Instead Yah send an angel to feed him. Let him rest and strengthen him for the journey ahead. that’s how Yah handles mental exhaustion with compassion, not condemnation. If you’re in a season a burnout you’re not alone. Elijah was there too, but Yah met him in that place and restored him, and he’ll do the same for you!for the most powerful mental battle recorded in scripture was faced by Yahusha himself in the garden of Gethsemane think about that the son of Yah perfect divine was overwhelmed with sorrow Matthew chapter 26 versus 38 to 39 Yahusha says my soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death stay here and keep watch with me and he falls on his face and says my father if it is possible may this cup be taken from me! not as I will, but as you will! It’s not weakness humanity in what Yahusha felt! the way he felt was about to endure, and he didn’t hide it. he brought his anguish to the father, and then that surrender power was released. Victory didn’t begin on the cross. It began in the garden when Yahusha laid down his will, and embraced Yah the savior himself wrestled with mental agony and so much pain!! there is nothing you’re facing that he can’t carry! In light of all this let me speak the truth over you! Yah doesn’t call the perfect! He perfects the call! ALL PRAISES TO THE MOST HIGH YAH!!!

Grand Rising Fiveamprayer family! Happy Day 3! Yah is divinely intervening in our minds! I want all of us to take a moment to breathe!! Just one breath in and one breath out! now pause and ask yourself this. What have I been saying to myself lately because the truth is what you say inward is shaping everything about your outward life. Let me ask you! have you ever caught yourself in a moment where you’re standing on the edge of opportunity, but instead of moving forward, your own mind begins whispering. You’re not ready. You’re not good enough. You always mess things up. It’s not your environment that stops you it’s not your background. It’s not even the enemy out there the most powerful opposition you’ll ever face is not external. We often talk about spiritual battles as if they’re all out there in the world, but the most relentless war is the one happening between your ears. Your mind is either a tool in the hands of Yah or a weapon used against your destiny!and here’s the twist your own mind can become your biggest enemy when it is not surrender to truth, but Yah didn’t leave us defenseless. He gave us a divine strategy in Romans chapter 12 verse two it says do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind then you will be able to test and approve what Yah’s will is his good pleasing and perfect. Well that means transformation doesn’t start with your job! your bank account or even your relationships. It starts with your thoughts! so today we’re diving into a truth that has the power to change the way, you see everything don’t let your mind be use you against you. You were not created to live at war with yourself. You were created to walk in agreement with heaven over the next hour. I will take you on a journey! one that will expose the lies, renew your thinking, and lead you back to alignment with Yah’s purpose for your life! Now let’s dive deep into understanding! the mind is a battlefield of belief! let’s lean in a little deeper! if you’re gonna win in life , you need to understand where the real battle is being fought! it’s not in your finances. It’s not in your circumstances. It’s not even in the people around you. The real war is in your belief system. Your mind is the battlefield! Our thought are not just ideas floating around. They are blueprints. Every choice you make every action you take every habit you fall into it all flows from your dominant thoughts and this is why the enemy doesn’t have to destroy you. He only needs to deceive you! if he can twist your thinking can he can steal your future! The Bible doesn’t tell us to fight the enemy with our fist! It tells us to take every thought captive Corinthians chapter 10 verse five says demolished arguments and every pretension that set itself up against the knowledge of Yah and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ that means you have a choice. You don’t have to believe every thought that walks through the door of your mind. You don’t have to agree with your fear you don’t have to obey your insecurities. You can hold them hostage and replace them with truth. Let me bring this to real life. There was a young woman. I once mentioned who had everything going for her talent, opportunities, and a heart for Yah, but every time she got close to a breakthrough, she sabotage herself Because somewhere along the line her mind told her you don’t deserve this that thought became her reality in it kept her in cycles of delay and defeat until one day she stopped accepting that lie as her identity and began declaring what Yah said about her instead and everything started to shift not because the world changed, but because her mind changed! similarly you may be sitting here today feeling stuck, but I wanna tell you this You are not stuck. You’re just being held hostage by a mindset that Yah never gave you! you were never meant to live in fear, shame, or limitation you were created to operate with the mind of Christ so here’s the hard truth and the beautiful invitation. Your mind is a battlefield yes but it’s also the place where Yah wants to build his kingdom and He starts by tearing down every lie and rebuilding you with his truth! as we continue keep this close to your heart! you are only one renewed thought!! away from a brand new life. Now let’s look at lies of the minds and the truth! have you ever noticed how easily a lie can become a lifestyle! It Starts small! an insecure thought whispered in the silence of your struggle, and before you know it, it becomes the script you live by! most of the battles we fight never reach the surface. They don’t make noise. They don’t leave bruises, but they bleed us dry from the inside out and here’s the thing they happen in the most dangerous place of All The mind! One lie once believe becomes your reality, even if it isn’t true, and the enemy of your soul knows that if he can control your mind, he can control your life, but not today today we expose those lies and replace them with the unshakable truth of Yah’s word! first Let’s confront the lie that says I feel inadequate. I don’t measure up how many times have you heard that whisper after a rejection! a failure or a moment of weakness maybe you didn’t get the job maybe someone left maybe you were overlooked again and the enemy was right there ready with that deadly suggestion I’m not capable but here’s the truth that crushes that lie psalm 139 verse 14 declares I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made!!Your works are wonderful. I know that full well that you are not average. You’re not a mistake. You are a masterpiece crafted by the hands of a Yah who makes no errors fearfully made meaning he took his time! wonderfully made meaning you carry divine beauty and purpose. You don’t need to earn enough. You already are. Your identity is not rooted in performance. It’s grounded in your creator’s design! that truth alone can break chains if you dare to believe it! now secondly, let’s talk about that lie that hovers in the background for so many I’ll never change You’ve tried you fasted gone to counseling made resolutions but every time you mess up that voice gets louder see you’re stuck you broken beyond repair, but here’s what the word of Yah says, and it is greater than your relapse or your regret. Philippians chapter 1 verse six reminds us being confident that he began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Yahusha! did you catch that?Yah finishes what He starts! ALL PRAISES TO THE MOST HIGH YAH!!

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
Amos chapter 3
Today we are walking in: Emotional Intelligence
Genesis 31:29
It is in the power of my hand H3027 to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
POWER
Today we look to the word-POWER-H3027 yad-- strength, power
The Torah testifies...............
Deuteronomy 32:36
For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power H3027 is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.
The prophets proclaim..................
Nehemiah 1:10
Now these are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand. H3027
The writings bear witness...........................
2 Kings 19:26
Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, H3027 they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.
Grand Rising Fiveamprayer Family! Happy Day 2! How can two walk together except they be in agreement! If two touch and agree on anything in the earth it shall be done! I want to teach this morning on EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE!!! I need you to STOP being an emotional fool. Yes you HEARD it right because if no one else has told you the truth, let me be the one today. Emotions are beautiful, beautiful servants, but they are terrible masters and the more you let them drive your life the more you will crash into decisions you can’t reverse relationships you should’ve never entered and moments you wish you could take back!! You cry over people who never cried over you! you break yourself trying to fix what was never your own to carry and still you call it loyalty or love or kindness but sometimes it’s not love. It’s emotional slavery. You’ve handed your peace over like a gift to those who didn’t earn it and you wonder why you feel so drained so empty so unseen! people will play with your emotions. If you let them! life will exploit your softness if you don’t put structure around your soul, being emotional isn’t weakness, but being led only by emotion that’s dangerous! you cannot make permanent decisions based on temporary feelings! you cannot give your destiny away just to feel needed in someone else’s chaos but the real question is how long will you keep apologizing for caring too much! giving too much! feeling too much! when the truth is deep down, you know it’s time to change! not who you are but how you operate! you need boundaries not just feelings! you need wisdom not just reactions. You need to stop living on emotional impulse and start living with emotional intelligence because the moment you stop being an emotional fool is the moment you take your power back! it probably hurt. It’s said that emotions make us human and that’s true! but what no one tells you is that emotions! if left unchecked can also make us prisoners! think about it how many times have you made a decision in the heat of the moment only to look back and ask yourself what was I thinking? How many times have you exploded in anger or drowned in sadness or chased validation only to wake up the next day, feeling regret, heavier than your own thoughts that’s not because you’re broken. It’s because you’re human but being human doesn’t mean you let your emotions control the steering wheel of your life!!emotions are powerful. They have the ability to inspire greatness or destroy potential. One moment of confidence can make you stand up for yourself. One moment of fear can make you walk away from something that was meant for you!! emotions can start wars and build nations. They can ruin a relationship in seconds or save a life with one act of compassion! that’s how powerful they are, but here’s the truth. Most people avoid power without direction is dangerous. Fire can warm a home or it can burn it to the ground. It all depends on how you use it. The same goes for your emotions. Your emotions are tools, not truce they are signals, not commands, and when you begin to understand that difference your life changes! let me ask you something who’s really in control when you lash out in frustration or beg for attention or stay in a toxic relationship because you feel something! you can’t explain! is it you or is it your emotions? when your emotions become the pilot of your life they don’t care about the destination they only care about the thrill of the moment! they have you saying things you don’t mean! doing things that betray your values and settling for less than you deserve! because they’re loud enough to drown out your better judgment, but you weren’t meant to live like that! some of the most successful, disciplined and focus people you admire didn’t get there because they felt their way through life, they mastered the art of acknowledging their emotions without surrendering to them. They felt fear, but did it anyway! they felt rejection, but didn’t lower their standards. They felt overwhelmed, but kept moving forward with clarity!! that’s what real strength looks like! the beautiful thing is you don’t need to stop feeling! to gain control. You don’t need to become cold or robotic. You just need to understand. That emotions are meant to work for you not against you. That sadness can teach you where you hurt! that anger can show you where you feel violated! that love when handled right can be a force of transformation, but only only if you stop handing your life over to every emotional impulse that knocks on your door! you are not weak because you feel deeply, but you become powerless the moment you let those feelings lead you blindly. The power comes when you pause! when you ask yourself, is this emotion telling me the truth or just trying to get a reaction! that one question can save you years of heartache! mastering your emotions doesn’t mean, eliminating them. It means honoring them without becoming enslaved by them. how many lives have been permanently altered by decisions made in moments of temporary emotion!! more than you will ever know! one impulsive text ! one angry outburst, one cheerful yes when your gut screamed no! one decision that fell right in a moment! left behind a mess you couldn’t sweep away, and it always start the same way with a feeling so intense it hijacks logic! you feel betrayed so you cut someone off! you feel lonely so you settle!! you feel excited so you leap before you look! then reality hits and suddenly you’re stuck with consequences !!! that your emotions have a long forgotten!! that’s a thing feelings are fast, but consequences are slow. They linger! they echo! they follow you into places your emotions never intended to go and here’s what most people don’t realize your feelings are not facts. They are temporary reactions. Trying to convince you, they are permanent truce. They scream do it now!! while wisdom whispers think it through and in that moment, if you obey your feelings without questioning them, you give them the keys to your future!! why do we keep doing it? Why do we let fleeting emotions build a life long stories! maybe because no one ever taught us to pause!!maybe because we think feeling something intensely must mean it’s true! but intensity doesn’t equal truth. Just because of a feeling is loud doesn’t mean it’s leading you the right way! about it!! have you ever been on the edge of something big something meaningful and your fear screamed turned back and maybe you did but looking back now was that fear telling you the truth or just trying to keep you safe inside your comfort zone! see that’s the problem when we don’t pause to examine our feelings, we obey them blindly and blind obedience to emotion is one of the fastest ways to destroy what you were trying to build!! let’s get practical you get angry at your partner so you say something!! something you can’t take back you feel unworthy so you chase someone who treats you like you are nothing!!you’re feeling inspired you! so you quit your job with no plan! it’s all emotion no direction and it feels right in the moment, but when the emotion fades you left with fallout not freedom, the greatest discipline is not in action. It’s in restraint. It’s in saying let me feel this, but not act on it just yet! it’s asking will I still want this when I’m calm that one pause that one breath can save you from years of regret!! this doesn’t mean you ignore your feelings. It means you honor them without surrendering to them. Let your emotions inform you, but never let them instruct your final decision because a temporary emotion might be loud, but your future is too important to be decided by a feeling that won’t last! emotions were meant to be a signal not a sentence. Let them alert you, but don’t let them arrest you. You owe it to yourself to pause before you sign a contract with your feelings! because some of the biggest regrets in life come from saying yes, too quickly or no to emotionally feel everything but choose wisely at some point! you have to ask yourself how much of your peace have you traded just to keep the wrong people comfortable in your life! how many times have you silenced your voice? Ignore your instincts or tolerated disrespect just to avoid confrontation and all the while your soul is screaming. Your mind is exhausted and your peace is slipping through your fingers like waterYou can’t hold!! This is the truth No one teaches you soon enough! peace is not something you find. It’s something you protect and protecting It means having boundaries!! not bitterness!boundaries emotional lines that separate what you allow and what you will never never allow again!! you see people don’t respect what you don’t reinforce!! if you let others walk over your feelings without consequence, they will do it again!! if you constantly say it’s OK when it’s not you’re teaching them how to treat you. That’s not humility that’s emotional exposure and it cost more than you realize!! you can’t keep pouring out your energy into conversations that go in circles! into people who only show up when they need something or in the situations that leave you emotionally bankrupt!! every time you say yes when your soul is saying no, you betray yourself and all the time self betrayal becomes your normal. You start feeling guilty for resting! guilty for saying no!! guilty for wanting space and that’s how you lose. Lose your identity in the name of being kind and kindness without boundaries is self-destruction in disguise. You were never meant to be available to everyone at every time for every reason! you are not the solution to everyone’s crisis! you are not responsible for everyone’s feelings! you are allowed to say I need space you are allowed to say this conversation is draining me. You are allowed to disconnect from what disturbs your peace and let’s be clear setting boundaries doesn’t mean you’re unkind or selfish. It means you value your mental and emotional health. It means you’ve matured to a place where you no longer allow guilt to manage your rrelationships because not everyone deserves full access to you especially those who have shown they can’t handle it. The problem is when you’ve lived without boundaries for so long the first time you start setting them it feels wrong. Your second-guess yourself! people will accuse you of changing some will even leave and that’s OK because anyone who leaves when you start protecting your peace was only there when it was convenient for them. Peace is expensive and it cost things like comfort!! approval and even a few relationships but guess what the more you protect it the more you realize peace is worth the price! you’ll stop apologizing for taking care of your soul. You’ll stop explaining why you’re no longer tolerating chaos!! Disguised as connection!! you’ll start seeing clearly who’s truly with you and who was only with you for access!! your energy your effort you are not cold for having boundaries. You are not mean for choosing peace. You are not broken because you’re finally putting yourself first. You are becoming someone who refuses to be emotionally manipulated stretched thin or guilt tripped into exhaustion. Boundaries aren’t about building walls around around your heart. They’re about building doors with lots so that only what is good healthy and aligned with your peace can come through through the strength isn’t always loud. It doesn’t always show up in big dramatic moments or fierce comebacks sometimes strength looks like holding your tongue when you want to scream sometimes it’s walking away when your pride wants to stay and prove a point and sometimes it’s smiling in a room full of chaos not because everything is OK but because you’ve learned how to manage what’s happening inside of you that’s what emotional intelligence is that’s not about being numb or distant or pretending nothing bothers you it’s about being fully aware of what you’re feeling why you’re feeling it and choosing not to let those emotions hijack your behavior that choice right there that’s power!! It is a false belief, That emotional control means suppression! that if you don’t cry or react or explode, you must be disconnected, but the truth is those who feel the deepest are often the ones who fight the hardest for peace. Emotional intelligence isn’t the absence of emotion. It’s the management of it. It’s knowing when to speak and when to stay, silent, went to engage and went to exit! when to respond and when to let silence speak for you. You’ve probably noticed that the most reactive people are usually the ones who feel the most out of control!! they snap quickly! they internalize everything!! they take everything personally! they don’t just feel emotions they become them!! and because they haven’t developed the maturity to process what they feel!! they expect others to walk on eggshells around them but when you grow emotionally, you stop needing everyone else to regulate you! in a world you become your own anchor and that shift is life-changing. Imagine what your life would look like if you didn’t let other people‘s behavior dictate your mood! if you could be around chaos without letting it into you, if you could listen to criticism without letting it define you that’s freedom. Emotional intelligence gives you it doesn’t make you cold. It makes you clear about what deserves your energy clear about how to handle conflict feel about how to preserve your peace without becoming passive or bitter, and here’s something most people never learn every emotionally intelligent person was once overly emotional. Every person who walks with calm once lived in constant reaction, the difference they stopped letting every feeling become a fire. They learn to pause. They started asking themselves better questions. Why am I reacting like this this?? What is the deep wound behind this feeling? Am I responding to this moment or to my past? those questions are uncomfortable but they grow you and when you grow everything around, you begins to shift! people notice you’re calm and someone will try to provoke it not everyone is comfortable with your peace. Some only knew how to connect with the unhealed version of you! the one who argued back! over explained! chased and always reacted, but now you respond differently and not because you care less, but because you’ve learned to care wisely, so yes, feel everything. Let your emotions be honest let them rise, but then lead them. Tell your anger you don’t make the decisions here!! tell your fear you don’t get to choose my future. Tell your sadness I hear you, but you won’t stop me. That’s not denial that’s discipline!!! that’s emotional intelligence. That’s the kind of strength no one can take from you. Taking control of your emotions is not just a choice. It’s a shift in power. It’s the moment you stop being a passenger in your own life and take the wheel! it’s a quiet decision to no longer be tossed around by moods, people or unpredictable moments and for many it’s the first time they finally feel free because let’s be honest how much of your life have you lost to emotional spirals? How many days did you waste replaying conversations overthinking someone silence trying to fix situations that only drained you! how many times have you known what needed to be done but fear guilt or insecurity made the decision for you! that’s what happens when your emotions are in control you move but not forward !! you act but not from clarity!!you live but not fully! emotions are powerful but without your leadership, they’ll take you places you never meant to go. That’s why emotional control isn’t about denying what you feel. It’s about mastering the part of you that wants to be ruled by the temporary! that part of you that panics when you’re uncomfortable!! that part of you that confuses attention with love! silence with rejection! conflict with abandonment!!when you lead your emotions instead of letting them lead you you stop reacting to life and start directing it, but this isn’t easy. It takes self awareness and that’s one of the hardest things to develop because it demands honesty. It requires you to face the parts of yourself you usually avoid to ask why do I keep ending up in the same emotional patterns? Why do I keep giving people access to me who don’t value it why do I sabotage peace the moment I finally feel it. Those aren’t easy questions but they are necessary because you can’t heal what you keep hiding you can’t grow what you keep repeating when you finally take control of your emotions something incredible happens your decisions get better you stop letting anger burn bridges. Your wish you had later!! you stop letting anxiety rush you into things you’re not ready for you. Stop letting sadness convince you that nothing will ever change and slowly you begin to see your life with clearer eyes you start protecting your time!!guarding your focus! choosing your battles and walking away from what doesn’t serve your growth. People may not understand your transformation. They may call it distant or cold, but they didn’t see the night you couldn’t sleep the days you felt like you were drowning in your own thoughts, the times you pretended to be OK while falling apart inside they didn’t see the price you paid to get here and they don’t need to because this new version of you, the one who responds with calm who protects their peace who thinks before reacting that version doesn’t explain itself!! It simply lives better! taking control of your emotions means you no longer give the loudest voice in the room the most power! it means you can feel fear and still walk forward. It means you can be triggered and choose not to react. It means you can be disappointed, but not dismantled!! that’s not just maturity that’s mastery and once you learn, learn to lead your emotions instead of being led by them, you’ll look back at all the versions of yourself who were once at the mercy of every storm and you thank them for surviving, but you’ll also know now you’re finally driving. You felt the weight of being ruled by your emotions. You’ve lived the cycles giving too much reacting too fast apologizing for things you should’ve stood firm on, but now it’s time to shift no more being controlled by the chaos within no more handing your peace to people who didn’t earn it no more silencing your worth just to be accepted!! from this moment on you are done being an emotional fool. You are done living on impulse you are done explaining your growth to those committed to misunderstanding you. This is your time to rise not with noise, but with clarity to move forward forward not from emotion but from fear!! you don’t need to be perfect. You just need to be in control of everything but of yourself because when you master that you become unstoppable so pause before you speak before you react what fuels your soul protect your peace like your future depends on it because it does, you are not too emotional. You are powerful beyond words when your emotion serve your vision, not sabotage it own that power live within intention lead your own life like it was designed with purpose because it was!!now go build the version of you that no storm can shake!! ALL PRAISES TO THE MOST HIGH YAH!!!
