THE WISDOM MINDSET OF SH’LOMO

INTRODUCTION – THE CRY FOR WISDOM

Beloved, let me take you on a short journey.

Not long ago, I sat with a man whose life had completely fallen apart. He was once a thriving businessman—beautiful home, luxury cars, influence, and respect. From the outside, everything looked successful.

But one decision—just one—set off a chain reaction. He trusted the wrong people. He moved too quickly. He ignored wise counsel. And when I asked him what he wished he had done differently, he didn’t pause. He didn’t hesitate. He said, “I wish I had wisdom.”

Family, how many of us have said those same words after a broken relationship, a failed business deal, or a painful choice?

I wish I had wisdom.

WHAT WISDOM REALLY IS

Wisdom is not just for professors, theologians, or elders sitting in libraries. Wisdom is for life. It is for your marriage, your finances, your career, your calling.

Wisdom is not knowledge alone.

Wisdom is the divine ability to apply truth correctly—at the right time, in the right way, for the right reason.

And that brings us to the life of a man who asked not for riches, not for revenge, not even for long life. He asked for wisdom.

THE QUESTION THAT DEFINES THE SERMON

What made Sh’lomo (Solomon) the wisest man who ever lived?

What gave him insight so powerful that kings and rulers traveled miles just to hear him speak?

Why did the Queen of Sheba journey to test his understanding?

The answer is found in a quiet, sacred moment between Sh’lomo and YAHUAH, recorded in 1 M’lakhiym (1 Kings) 3:5–14.

THE REQUEST THAT OPENED HEAVEN

Scripture tells us that YAHUAH appeared to Sh’lomo in a dream and said,

“Ask what I shall give thee.”

Sh’lomo did not respond with ambition or ego. He responded with humility and responsibility:

“Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad.”

This response pleased YAHUAH.

Because Sh’lomo asked for wisdom, YAHUAH gave him not only wisdom, but also riches and honor—things he never asked for.

Wisdom first. Everything else followed.

THE PRINCIPLE OF PRIORITY

Sh’lomo did not receive wisdom because he was already wise.

He received wisdom because he was humble enough to ask.

Leadership without wisdom is dangerous.

Influence without wisdom is destructive.

Success without wisdom is hollow.

Charisma may open doors—but only wisdom keeps them open.

WISDOM IS STILL AVAILABLE

This moment is not just history. It is an invitation.

When life places decisions before you…

When pressure rises…

When the path forward is unclear…

What are you asking YAHUAH for?

Because Ya’aqov (James) 1:5 declares:

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of YAHUAH, who gives to all liberally.”

Beloved, wisdom is not withheld.

Wisdom is invited.

WISDOM VS. KNOWLEDGE

Wisdom is not intelligence.

You can memorize facts, earn degrees, quote statistics—and still make foolish decisions.

Knowledge may build a business.

But wisdom builds a life.

Knowledge knows fire burns.

Wisdom knows when not to touch it.

Mishlei (Proverbs) 4:7 declares:

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom.”

Not applause.

Not riches.

Wisdom.

THE COST OF IGNORING WISDOM

Many rise quickly because of talent, only to fall faster because of foolishness.

Marriages collapse not for lack of love, but lack of wisdom.

Careers derail not for lack of skill, but lack of discernment.

Families fracture not for lack of effort, but lack of sound judgment.

Wisdom teaches us when to speak and when to be silent, when to wait and when to walk away.

THE SOURCE OF SOLOMON’S WISDOM

Sh’lomo’s wisdom did not come from education, experience, or environment.

It came from YAHUAH.

He was young, newly crowned, and overwhelmed by responsibility. And instead of pretending he had it all together, he prayed:

“I cannot lead without You.”

That humility opened heaven.

What YAHUAH gave to Sh’lomo, He offers to us today.

But many do not ask.

We ask for money.

We ask for healing.

We ask for opportunity.

But rarely do we ask for wisdom.

One whisper of wisdom can save years of pain.

FIVE LIFE-CHANGING PRINCIPLES FROM SH’LOMO

1. THE POWER OF LISTENING

A wise man will hear and increase learning.

Wisdom listens before it speaks.

Listening reveals humility.

Many fall not because they lack intelligence, but because they refuse to listen.

2. DILIGENCE BRINGS PROMOTION

The hand of the diligent makes rich.

Not the gifted hand.

Not the fast hand.

The faithful hand.

Wisdom does not eliminate work—it directs it.

3. GUARDING THE HEART

Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it flow the issues of life.

Unhealed offense derails destiny.

Bitterness poisons discernment.

Forgiveness is not weakness—it is wisdom.

4. THE POWER OF COUNSEL

In the multitude of counselors, plans are established.

Wisdom does not isolate.

Wisdom invites accountability.

Often YAHUAH hides His answer inside someone else’s experience.

5. THE FEAR OF YAHUAH

The fear of YAHUAH is the beginning of wisdom.

This is not terror—it is reverence.

It is alignment.

It is obedience.

Without reverence, wisdom becomes dangerous.

SOLOMON’S WARNING: WISDOM WITHOUT OBEDIENCE

Even the wisest man fell.

Sh’lomo did not fall because he lost wisdom.

He fell because he abandoned obedience.

Wisdom without obedience is rebellion.

Knowledge without loyalty becomes a trap.

Success is not sustained by wisdom alone—it is sustained by obedience.

MODERN APPLICATION

Wisdom today looks like discipline, patience, humility, prayer, and daily dependence on YAHUAH.

Wisdom waits.

Wisdom listens.

Wisdom aligns.

The RUACH HA’QODESH still whispers, “Pause. Pray. Consider.”

CALL TO REFLECTION

Where have you leaned on your own understanding?

Where have emotions led instead of wisdom?

Where have you rushed instead of prayed?

The invitation remains.

Ask.

CONGREGATIONAL DECLARATION

I will walk in wisdom.

I will value YAHUAH’s voice above man’s applause.

I choose understanding over impulse.

I grow stronger, wiser, and more focused daily,

in the name of Yahusha Ha’Mashiach. Amein.

FINAL EXHORTATION

Beloved, you have a Sh’lomo inside you.

You are not too late.

You are not too broken.

Wisdom rewrites stories.

As Qoheleth (Ecclesiastes) 12:13 declares:

“Fear YAHUAH and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.”

Go now—not just inspired, but transformed.

Let wisdom lead you.

Let obedience anchor you.

And let your life testify to the brilliance of YAHUAH.
