Daniel 3:16-22; 2 Timothy 1:7

We are walking in today:  Weekend Meditation--Tossed In The Fire, But Not Consumed

This morning we are walking in the next 10 of the commandments or God's principles from the book by Rabbi Ralph Messer, Torah: Law Or Grace? Kingdom Principles For Kingdom Living.  Which can be ordered online here or in the store if you are in the Denver area here.

The Second Commandment Exodus 20:4-5
You shall have no other gods before Me.  You shall not make yourself a carved image nor any likeness of that which is in the heavens above or on the earth below or in the water beneath the earth.  You shall not prostrate yourself to nor worship them, for I am the LORD your God--a jealous God.
43. You shall not make for yourself carved images --Exodus 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

44. You shall not bow down to carved images --Exodus 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

45. You shall not worship carved images --Exodus 20:5

46. You shall not make images of gods of silver or gods of gold --Exodus 20:23 Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.

47. You shall not build an Altar of hewn stones --Exodus 20:22 And the Lord said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

48. You shall not ascend the Altar on steps --Exodus 20:26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.

49. You shall not allow the pagan nation to dwell in the land of Israel --Exodus 23:33 They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.

50. You shall build a Sanctuary for God --Exodus 25:8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.

51. You shall not remove the staves from their rings in the Ark --Exodus 25:15 The staves shall be in the rings of the ark: they shall not be taken from it.

52. You shall place the Showbread on the Table in the Sanctuary, continually --Exodus 25:30 And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread before me alway.

53. You shall kindle the Menorah of the Sanctuary, continually --Exodus 27:21 In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the Lord: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.

Daniel 3:16-22 16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. 17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. 18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. 19 Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated. 20 And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. 21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. 22 Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flames of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Fiveamprayer, we have to truly consider what we will do when we are faced with following God or giving into fear.  We must choose to fearlessly obey God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. We have to remain loyal to God no matter what when our faith is tested by fire. God hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7.  A faith that is tested by fire is a faith that can be trusted.  Can your faith handle the fire, fiveamprayer?  Can your faith handle the trial of an unanswered prayer, personal loss, money issues, death, or betrayal?  Don't bow down!!  The wrong choice can not be rationalized!!  Obey God's commands instead of man's expectations and He will deliver you! Believe God!  Don't just believe in God!  Choose who you're going to serve today. Believe Adonai and serve the Almighty God no matter what! Amen!  To hear this again click here.
