Not merely from the consequences thereof, but because it is not what our Heavenly Father has taught us to do! There are three kinds of repentance found in the following Greek words:

Metamelomai-- change of mind, due to sin but not a change of heart
Metanoeo-- change of mind after seeking knowledge, repenting to change mind and purpose
Metanoia-- true repentance, change of mind, purpose and life. Making a change 180 degree--to turn away, new direction
Are we walking in Evangelical repentance? A true since of one's own guilt and sinfulness; apprehension of God's mercy in Christ; actual hatred of sin? Let us get into the scriptures of the Lord God Almighty and take a selah moment to look at ourselves--have we truly repented? Have we change direction and turned back to our righteous and holy God?
