Fiveamprayer, are we prepared? Will we be like the 5 wise or the 5 foolish virgins when the Bridegroom returns? What is the oil that was in their lamps? Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy. By not being prepared, the 5 foolish virgins, were not ready to go in and came late and knocked at the door, 'Lord, Lord'--but the reply comes, 'I know you not'
Matthew 25:10-12 (KJV)
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

The phrase Kingdom of God and Kingdom of Heaven are synonyms for the Lord God Almighty. Theses terms are only used in the Brit Chadasha or New Testament. When the audience that Yeshua is speaking to is Hebrew as in Matthew He uses Kingdom of Heaven, while in Mark, Luke, and John the audience is Greek and He uses Kingdom of God. When scripture says of the prodigal son, I have sinned against heaven, he is saying that I have sinned against the God Almighty. We have to understand in the Hebraic mindset, that heaven is temporal and Earth eternal for that is where mankind is to be--
Psalm 115:14-16 (KJV)
14 The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children. 15 Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth. 16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
14 The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children. 15 Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth. 16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
In our western/Greek mindset we have come to think of Heaven as a place to escape, while scripture tells us that the Earth has been given to men, that it is Yahweh's plan to make a new heaven and a new Earth. Why would we need a new Earth, if we are to go to heaven?
The word's reign and kingdom have the same root words. The gospel that both Yeshua and Paul preached is the Kingdom of God or the Kingdom of Heaven--that is the good news! The Kingdom is at hand, karval malkhut shamayiam! Most of the Hebrew prayers have this contained in it: Blessed are You, Lord, our God, King of the Universe. The Torah is our kingdom instructions. Another daily prayer of many Jewish people is Avinu Malkenu, Our Father Our King--which gives praise to Yahweh our King for His hand over the kingdom and for every tongue to swear allegiance and honor to Him! This is God's rule, where He rules and the people that He rules reside--the Kingdom of God is now, present--here and now. The Son of Man, coming was a future event. In error the Kingdom of God has been seen as a future event also--this is His present righteousness, His salvation, and redemption. Which is found throughout the volume of the Book. When we get to the Next Testament we find that alms giving to the poor became the definition of being righteous.
Heaven was not after death, but Yahweh's presence in present tense--here and now!
In Hebrew the Kingdom of Heaven/Kingdom of God is close in proximity, reduced distance.
In Greek, the Kingdom of God/Kingdom of Heaven is based on time, awaiting, future.
We have the comparisons of the good or bad disciples by the fruit that they bore. This is how we are to determine which type of disciple we are dealing with. This is a Hebrew idiom which places it in the future tense Yeshua's movement upon the Earth is the Kingdom of Heaven which is present. To listen to this awesome teaching again click here.
