The First Commandment-Exodus 20:2-3 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
32. You shall not practice necromancy by consulting the dead --Deuteronomy 18:11
33. You shall harken to the Prophet --Deuteronomy 18:15 The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
34. You shall not fear the false Prophet --Deuteronomy 18:22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
35. You shall not allow the Cananite nations to live --Deuteronomy 20:16 But of the cities of these people, which the Lord thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth:
36. You shall destroy the Cananite nations --Deuteronomy 20:17 But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee:
37. You shall not allow an Ammonite or Moabite to enter the congregation, to the tenth generation --Deuteronomy 23:3 An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the Lord for ever:
38. You shall remember what Amalek did to Israel when leaving Egypt --Deuteronomy 25:17 Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt; 39. You shall destroy the seed of Amalek --Deuteronomy 25:19 Therefore it shall be, when the Lord thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.
40. You shall wipe out the memory of Amalek from under heaven --Deuteronomy 25:1941. You shall observe God's Torah and walk in His ways --Deuteronomy 28:9 The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways.
42. You shall write a copy of the Torah for yourself --Deuteronomy 31:19 Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach it the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.
At the time of war, the war that you are in--don't send anyone else in your place! We find that even with King David, sent someone else to war in his place and set the scene for a fleshy downfall. His seeing Bathsheba bathing from the roof of the palace--whether this was a one time event or an frequent happening, if David had been in position--out to war, this would not have been an fleshly option. Fiveamprayer, we must not be out of position when there is an appointed time. The beginning of the chapter tells us the season, when kings go out to war. Yet the man after Yahweh's own heart stayed home, sending someone else in His place. This time of being out of position led to an affair with the wife of a solider, Uriah that he had fought with; a plot to cover up this love child and upon that failure, the death sentence sent out against this man that fought side by side with King David. We have to be in position to put aside those things that would attempt to trip us up! Being out of position is the set up for missing the standard that Yahweh has set for our lives. His principles are to direct and lead our lives.
In comparison, we have the response of Uriah when David calls him from war, is a solider who is focused and in position in the season! He was still in the war mindset, knowing that his fellow soldiers were on the battlefield, he would not shift to the comfort mindset even at the suggestion of his king. This is the focus and position we should be in even when an option presents itself to move--remain in position for the season! This gives us two views of men at the time that kings go out to war. Take a look and find which one do you resemble with your current mindset and behavior. This is a self-check to take and make corrections for where we have not been meeting His mark. We can see that with King David who so loved His Torah, who pleads to dwell in the house of Yahweh forever has this situation due to being out of position. Fiveamprayer take a look at yourself and find what areas are you out of position? Return to the fullness of your relationship with Adonai! As we have in the scripture, Deuteronomy 31:19 that the king was to write the principles himself twice---that His instructions would be established. This is the focus we must have and maintain to remain in position. Make no more plans to be out of position---seek to be in alignment at all times! To here more of this awesome teaching click here.
