Picking up on last weeks teachings on the applications of principles and the importance to understand their roles to the keys to the Kingdom. The fact that the very principles of His Kingdom act as a memorial to His name. That He is the word and the word is forever!
Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Now we go into the remembrance of His Name, Yahweh. We have called Him many names, but not His actual name Yahweh. Why would His name be secret? The early Israelites would never mention His name just attributes towards His name--like the Holy One, The One and True, The Most High. Over time some how Lord and Jesus and other names where attributed to our YHVH. Yet do we really know the word play of man versus the word established by Yahweh?? So let us up the name Baal
Baal--- Biblical Hebrew: בעל, pronounced [ˈbaʕal]),was a title and honorific meaning "lord" in the Northwest Semitic languages spoken in the Levant during antiquity. From its use among people, it came to be applied to gods. Scholars previously associated the theonym with solar cults and with a variety of unrelated patron deities, but inscriptions have shown that the name Baʿal was particularly associated with the storm and fertility god hadad and his local manifestations. The Hebrew Scriptures, compiled and curated over a span of centuries, include early use of the term in reference to their God Yahweh, generic use in reference to various Levantine deities, and finally pointed application towards hadad, who was decried as a false god. This use was taken over into Christianity and Islam, sometimes under the opprobrious form Beelzebub.
All of that just to say history has a way of repeating its self as in the translation of Baal meaning Lord and the sun god and a old Hebrew false god that was worshiped--falling back into idolatry. Well today we call the Him, Lord. But who are we actually speaking to, The Father of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob or Baal? A great question since we know that many words in our Bible has been changed to suit the beliefs of pagans, then later formed Christian doctrine and the only key to interpret scripture is hebraically. Its original script--the original context and intention. Yahweh specifically stated to remember His commandments, feast days as a memorial to Him and to change nothing.Exodus--12:14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance forever.Proverbs 30:4-6 Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell? Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar
Jeremiah 23:26-28 26 “How long? Is there anything in the hearts of the prophets who prophesy falsehood, even these prophets of the deception of their own heart, 27 who intend to make My people forget My name by their dreams which they relate to one another, just as their fathers forgot My name because of Baal? 28“The prophet who has a dream may relate his dream, but let him who has My word speak My word in truth. What does straw have in common with grain?” declares the LORD.
Isaiah 42:1-4
“Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold;
My chosen one in whom My soul delights.
I have put My Spirit upon Him;
He will bring forth justice to the nations.
“He will not cry out or raise His voice,
Nor make His voice heard in the street.
“A bruised reed He will not break
And a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish;
He will faithfully bring forth justice.
“He will not be disheartened or crushed
Until He has established justice in the earth;
And the coastlands will wait expectantly for His law.”
It boils down to translation and truly interpreting scriptures from a Hebraic perspective to find what the words are actually saying! This is not to be an interpreter that thinks they understand the text so well that they could change the words of the Author to alter your understanding and your thoughts. With the original message being vastly misunderstood either by the interpreters mistake or on purpose, we have our present condition. So in calling Yahweh, by a false name Baal and worshiping on the wrong feast days, meeting on the wrong days of worship and observing other appointed times can we still approach the throne established by Yahweh? Who are we really worshiping? To hear this teaching again click here.
