Mark 2
We are walking in today: Yeshua's Talmidim Are Not Only To Observe The Commandments of Yahweh, Also To Teach His Commandments!!!
Witness sabbath throughout the Bible: H7676 shabbath spelled shin beit tav-- Sabbath, day of atonement, sabbath year, week, produce (in sabbath year), intermission, (specifically) the Sabbath, every sabbath
Exodus 16:23, 20:11, 31:16; Leviticus 19:30, 25:4, 25:6; Deuteronomy 5:15; Nehemiah 9:14, 10:33, 13:22; Isaiah 56:2, 56:6; Jeremiah 17:24; Ezekiel 20:16, 22:26, 44:24; 2 Kings 11:5, 11:7, 11:9; 1 Chronicles 23:31, 8:13; Psalms 92:1
Exodus 16:23, 20:11, 31:16; Leviticus 19:30, 25:4, 25:6; Deuteronomy 5:15; Nehemiah 9:14, 10:33, 13:22; Isaiah 56:2, 56:6; Jeremiah 17:24; Ezekiel 20:16, 22:26, 44:24; 2 Kings 11:5, 11:7, 11:9; 1 Chronicles 23:31, 8:13; Psalms 92:1
Mark 2:27
And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath
And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath
Yeshua not only taught the law as the lawgiver He was also an observer. Which made it so that those who would call themselves followers of the Messiah, would be required to observe the teachings and instructions as well. This law was to be understood spiritually--from an inward understanding that the law was made for man and not man for the law. A legalistic view and observance of the commandments can and will be burdensome. Just as the Pharisees and Sadducees continued to point out the so call flaws in their eyes of Yeshua. Their question aroused from His actions: Why are you healing on the Sabbath? Why are your disciples picking wheat on the Sabbath? In their eyes, the law was being broken physically, but spiritually the law was being fulfilled.
For example there are some that would observe the sabbath in this fashion--sunset is at 7:50 and no work after 7:50. No ironing clothes, no buying gas to get to service, no washing dishes after Sabbath meal. No breathing hard because that's too much work. A legalistic view that a day of celebration and rest was turning homes into a ghost towns. With this harsh view, without the proper understanding, would be a curse to what was given to us by Yahweh Himself!
"On the same day, He (Jesus) beholding a man laboring on the Sabbath, said to him: Man if thou knowest what thou doest, blessed art thou; if however thou dost not know, cursed art thou and a transgressor of the law".
I have come to find in my Hebraic mindset, that the Sabbath was made for man. I am the Sabbath!!! Essentially is the point of the scripture Mark 2:27, is to conveying to us. To rest inwardly knowing that in the Kingdom belief that the world was created in 7 days. As a symbol of completion. Also seeing that the number 7 is mentioned 700 times throughout the scriptures. The frequency of this number is only exceeded by the number one--shows the importance of 7 to the scriptures.
Genesis 2:2
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
The creation account gives us our pattern to work for 6 days and cease on the 7th for the work was completed in 6 and was modeled for us to trust and rely in Him. Knowing that in our obedience we are blessed!
Also looking to the 7 clean pairs animals and the pair of unclean animals entered the Ark.
Genesis 7:2
Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female
Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female
Jericho was marched around 6 days and on the seventh day the walls fell.
Joshua 6:3-4
3 And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days. 4 And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
7 also carries a spiritual numerical value in the Aleph Tav, Zayin. The 7th letter in the alephbeit of the Hebrew letters. Zayin is considered the crown of the Vav in the alephbet. Just as Vav represents Yashar ; which means straight light from God to man , so zayin represents our returning light. And just as a woman of Valor is the crown of her husband, so in like the seventh letter is the crown of Vav. The numerical value of the Zayin is 67 which means understanding. (Hence the question to the man working on the sabbath "
"On the same day, He (Jesus) beholding a man laboring on the Sabbath, said to him: Man if thou knowest what thou doest.... If thou understood the significance of the sabbath or the law).
"On the same day, He (Jesus) beholding a man laboring on the Sabbath, said to him: Man if thou knowest what thou doest.... If thou understood the significance of the sabbath or the law).
All that to say that there is the law of sin and death that Paul talked about and the law of eternal life. Yet both are observed. Wherein is the indwelling of Yahweh's Kingdom. The other is the focus on the outward worldly view. Wherein is the freedom. The other is bondage still both are observed. One is not the doctrine of Constantine and the Greco-Roman mindset. That says the Sabbath is done away with and made the first day of the week Sunday. To be observed religiously. While the original seventh day Saturday. Is given for the rest and observance of the examples--that Yeshua and all the Hebraic Patriarchs observes from Genesis to revelation. Once again remember, why observe the Sabbath? Will you see the joy that is set before you or place burdens where there is liberty? How do you view Him appointed day, when you are the Lord over the Sabbath because it was made for you?
Romans 7:22-23
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Mathew 5:17-18
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Shema, Selah--hear, listen and obey the words of Yahweh, take time to reflect and consider this lesson.
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
