Elul--Opportunity Presented This In Our Testing!!

Matthew 3; Revelation 2; 2 Samuel 15

We are walking in today:  Elul--Opportunity Presented This In Our Testing!!
It Is Time to Unmask The Spirit of Ahab!! Unmasking the Spirit of Jezebel by John Paul Jackson

A principle deals specifically with 9 stages of a person’s life. In Hebrew the word “crisis” is the Hebrew word for prosperity or opportunity.

1. Crisis produces an opportunity
2. Opportunity produces the ministry
3. Ministry produces favor – (Hebrews don’t pray for money they pray for favor and the favor pulls prosperity towards them)
4. Favor produces promotion
5. Promotion produces increase
6. Increase now multiplies responsibility in our lives
7. Responsibility produces rewards
8. Rewards attract attack
9. Attacks produces crisis – Here you begin the cycle again because you need crisis to produce the opportunity to prosper.

On the Most High ’s calendar, which is the Hebrew Calendar, Elul is a month of teshuvah as we get ready to celebrate the fall feasts of the Lord (Leviticus 23). The month of Elul started on  Monday
August 21  (Elul 1) and ends on Tuesday September 20 (Elul 29). The first fall feast, the Feast of Trumpets, occurs on the following two days (Tishri 1-2). In the Gospels, we find the profound significance of Elul 1, as John the Baptist baptized Yeshua on this prophetic date. Matthew 3:13-17, “Then Yeshua came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” But Yeshua
answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him. When He had been baptized, Yeshua came up immediately
from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of  the Most High descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven,
saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Also See Mark 1, Luke 3)  John the Baptist not only baptized Yeshua, but he also proclaimed Him to be the Lamb of God, the Son of God, and the Messiah of the world!
John 1:29-34, “The next day John saw  Yeshua coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who
is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.” And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit
descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him. I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining
on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”
On the Hebrew calendar, forty days from Elul 1 is Tishri 10 (Yom Kippur), which is the sixth feast of the Lord (Leviticus 23:26-32), the Day of Atonement for the nation of Israel. Please note, the Feast of Passover is for our individual redemption (fulfilled), and the Feast of Yom Kippur is for Israel’s national redemption (unfulfilled). Elul 1 (August 21) begins what is known as the “time of testing,” and ends on Tishri 10 (Day of Atonement, September 30).
What is the prophetic significance of “the time of testing?” After Messiah’s baptism (Elul 1), He immediately endured His “time of testing,” because He was tempted by Satan for forty days and
forty nights. Mark 1:12-13, “Immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness. And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to Him.”
Messiah’s “time of testing” started on Elul 1 and ended forty days later on Tishri 10, which is the Feast of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement (September 30)! Once Messiah had overcome Satan’s temptations in the wilderness, He returned in the power of the Holy Spirit to Galilee, and then to Nazareth, to fulfill biblical prophecy. Let us first review Isaiah’s prophecy of this First Coming event on Yom Kippur.
Isaiah 61:1-2, “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the
captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn.” Isaiah not only prophesied about Messiah’s First Coming, but also His Second Coming, as well! The underline portion of Isaiah 61:1-2 was fulfilled on Yom Kippur (Tishri 10-Day of Atonement) after Messiah was tempted for 40 days and 40 nights.
Luke 4:16-21, “So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 61). And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
Clearly, Messiah partially fulfilled Isaiah 61:1-2 at His first coming on Yom Kippur. However, did you see where Messiah ended His proclamation of Isaiah’s prophecy? He ended the First Coming fulfillment with “To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” When we look at Isaiah 61:1-2, Isaiah continues to prophesy about “the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn.” The day of vengeance is certainly an eschatological term for Messiah’s Second Coming, which will occur on the final Yom Kippur of the age, Messiah’s Second Coming! On  the Most’s appointed year, Messiah will fulfill the remaining prophecy of Isaiah 61:1-2 on the Feast of Yom Kippur (6th Feast). Please
note, one comma in Isaiah’s prophecy separates 2,000 years!
Before we continue Luke’s account, let us understand one of the prophetic foreshadows of Yom Kippur, as it will give us further confirmation that Luke’s account occurred on Yom Kippur.
In the Torah, it was on the Feast of Yom Kippur that Aaron would take two goats and present them before the Lord (Lev. 16:6-11).  He would cast two lots for the two goats: one for the scapegoat and
one for the Lord. The goat that the Lord’s lot fell on was offered up as a sacrifice. The children of Israel believed it was a good omen if the lot for the Lord came up in the right hand of the priests. The
other goat was presented alive to make atonement with him and was then thrown over the cliff. Now, let us continue Luke’s account.
Luke 4:28-30, “So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, and rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their
city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff.  Then passing through the midst of them, He went His way.” On Yom Kippur, after Messiah proclaimed “the acceptable year of
the Lord,” the people tried to throw Him over the cliff, just like the scapegoat! This confirms the prophetic foreshadows of the Yom Kippur service and that these events occurred on Yom Kippur,
the Day of Atonement.
Furthermore, it is recorded in the Talmud that Israel would tie a red sash around the horns of the scapegoat, and another red sash around the doors of the Temple. It is recorded that when they threw
the scapegoat over the cliff, the red sash of the Temple turned white (Isaiah 1:18), which meant that Israel’s sins as a nation were forgiven. Again, this ceremony only happens on Yom Kippur,
the Day of Atonement. However, the Talmud also records that four ominous events took place forty years before the destruction of the Temple (70AD).

The lot for the Lord started coming up in the left hand instead of the right hand.
The scarlet sash stopped turning white
The westernmost light of the menorah would not stay lit
The Temple doors would open by themselves (Josephus records that the doors we “made of brass, 75 feet tall, and it took 20 men to open them.”

What occurred forty years before the destruction of the Temple and Jerusalem? The crucifixion and resurrection of Messiah! What is even more incredible, Josephus records that the timing of the
event occurred at the “sixth hour,” during Passover week. This is exactly when Pilate said to the children of Israel, “Behold’ your  King!,” and they responded, “Away with Him!, away with Him!,
crucify him!” (John 19:14-15), and He became the scapegoat for all of mankind (you and me)! Hallelujah!

Nevertheless, during the Great Tribulation, when the nation of Israel cries out, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord/ Buruch Haba Beshem Adonai), Yeshua the Messiah will come
for His Second Coming and redeem the nation of Israel on the  Feast of Yom Kippur!

In conclusion, the number forty has always been a “time for testing” throughout biblical history. For example, Noah and the flood (40 days and nights-Genesis 7), the Israelites after they worshipped the golden calf and Moses went back up for forty days to repent for Israel (Yom Kippur-Exodus 34), the twelve spies sent to the land of Canaan for 40 days (Numbers 13), and the 40 day warning of judgment to Ninevah (Jonah 3). Elul 1 to Tishri 10 (Yom Kippur) is a set time for repentance. Obviously, we should repent everyday, but these forty days are specifically set aside for reflection, prayer, meditation, and teshuvah, as it coincides with Messiah’s “time of testing” in the wilderness. I pray that you will join us during this time of teshuvah, as we pray for all of mankind,
Hebrews and the nations, to accept salvation through Yeshua! May the Most High
bless and protect all of you, Amen, Amen, and Amen.

2 Samuel 15:4-6 cjb

4 Then Avshalom would continue, “Now if I were made judge in the land, anyone with a suit or other cause could come to me, and I would see that he gets justice!” 5 Moreover, whenever any man came close to prostrate himself before him, he would put out his hand, take hold of him and kiss him.
6 This is how Avshalom behaved toward anyone in Isra’el who came to the king for judgment, and in this way Avshalom stole the hearts of the people of Isra’el.

SPINNING THE WEB OF DECEIT

He came from a previous fellowship so he says. Interested in a new faith eager to learn something new. A familiar face was seen in the congregation. So He thought I should hook up with her they seem to know more about this faith. Contacting the individual; as she thought it was cordial to introduce the male to the leader of the group. Then the webs of lies and deceit began to grow throughout the group.

As the new member began to have interactions with each member. Causing them to believe the help that was needed and prayed for had arrived. They eagerly accepted the help of this man. Finding out amongst each other that a lot of things didn’t add up promises were broken and they all had been hoodwinked by this person. Most of important the attachment to leadership was accomplished.

CHURCHES TARGETED BY THIS SPIRIT

No church is too great, too healthy, or too pure to be exempted from an attack by a Jezebel spirit. In fact, the greater the church, the greater the assurance that those with a Jezebel spirit will seek to gain influence and power—unless the pastor, the leadership team, the intercessors, and prophetically gifted individuals exercise their responsibility and withstand this spiritual attack.

CONQUERING THE PROPHET

The ultimate goal of someone influenced by a Jezebel spirit involves issues of control and in particular, how disagreements with authority figures are handled. Consequently, any prophetic leader carrying a true spiritual authority from God is a threat to someone who operates under this spirit.

Since a Jezebel spirit counterfeits the prophetic anointing in gifts, calling, and authority, a prophetic leader will become a target of a Jezebel spirit, as will a church in which the prophetic is held in high regard. A prophetic church and its leaders must realize that if the spirit of Elijah is going to return, so will its counter spirit—the Jezebel spirit.

DIVIDE AND CONQUER

The first move a Jezebel spirit often makes is to gain control by trying to remove the established prophetic authority. If a Jezebel spirit can wedge itself between the people, the pastors, and a prophetic leader, then it will move to overthrow the prophetic leader.

CONQUER BY JOINING

To seduce, and thereby, conquer a prophetic leader, someone with a Jezebel spirit will seek to gain favor. This individual will attempt to unite with a prophetic leader in the realm of the spirit, saying “I’m just like you. I seem to know what you’re thinking and feeling. We are kindred spirits.”

However, this soulish tie will attack the prophetic leader’s mind, will, and emotions. In some cases, this joining together will display itself with sexual manifestations. This spirit “talks” spiritually, but its strength is born from the power of the soul, and is ultimately deadly to the gifting of its prey. Some goals of this demonic spirit are to dilute revelation, bring about corruption, defilement, disregard, and disdain of God’s true prophetic voice.

A Jezebel spirit seeks intimacy with power. It may use fascination and charm in seemingly innocent ways until it gains friendship and confidence—an illegitimate familiarity the person craves. Just as believers are joined by the Holy Spirit, so an individual with a Jezebel spirit seeks to be joined in soul with others under the guise of the union being a spiritual joining.

TIES THAT BIND

You can usually track how godly men or women form soul-tying relationships with an individual who operates with a Jezebel spirit. It begins in the realm of the soul. Both men and women will find emotional needs seemingly being met by this person.

For a male leader, this will often translate into sexual needs and desires. The season of seduction may eventually climax in the act of physical adultery. Thus, their ability to keep a covenant is breached. Their influence and authority is forfeited; their ministry is destroyed and God’s Kingdom suffers great loss.

For a female leader, this soul tie usually manifests as a consuming and magnetic desire to be around the person influenced by a Jezebel spirit. They will often become best friends or even soul sisters, soul brothers, or soul mates. The person with the Jezebel spirit may attempt to take over the leader’s group. As the relationship deepens, the leader may feel as if he or she is being swallowed or suffocated by Jezebel.

Some individuals with a Jezebel spirit form soul ties by praying and by “laying hands on” a prophetic leader, hoping to impart the seed of its spirit. Such people may not know they are imparting a demonic touch. They may also want to pray beside a prophetic leader who is ministering to various individuals. They feel compelled to pray for others, but this urge is not from God.

James 1:14  Rather, each person is being tempted whenever he is being dragged off and enticed by the bait of his own desire.

SUBDUING PASTORAL LEADERSHIP

The prophetic realm is not the only target of a Jezebel spirit. A Jezebel spirit will target a pastor and the church staff, seeking to find the weakest link in order to sever it and gain favor in subtle ways.

Proverbs 7:21-23 With her enticing speech she caused him to yield, with her flattering lips she seduced him. Immediately he went after her, as an ox goes to slaughter…He did not know it would cost his life

The Spirit of Jezebel seek out those of influence and those close to them. The week and unassuming or the proud and unaware. Absalom was proud and was determined to take authority of his father David’s kingdom. Lest we not forget the missing the mark David committed with Uriah the Hittites wife and the curse The Most High pronounced over David’s seed. “The Sword shall not leave His House”. So in fulfilling the curse of the 3rd and 4th generation found in the 613 principles. We see that Absalom usurp to take His father’s throne just like HaSatan set out to place himself above The Most High. So did the Spirit of Jezebel in Absalom set out rebellion and corruption. This is not to be taken lightly and must be exposed and dealt with in exact proper protocol.

SUBDUING PASTORAL LEADERSHIP

The target of a Jezebel spirit. A Jezebel spirit will target a pastor and the church staff, seeking to find the weakest link in order to sever it and gain favor in subtle ways. For a pastor, it will seem unbelievable that such a “spiritually mature” person could have anything but the highest of motives. The more a pastor is blinded to Jezebel’s identity, the more likely he or she will fall prey and embrace the “gifted” person. Over time, it will become more difficult for a pastor to recognize that this individual operates with a controlling spirit that seeks to conquer the pastor and divide the church.

THE ANOINTING ATTRACTS

Troy had a great anointing from God. Thousands attended the churches he had started and to which he had been given oversight. Mighty signs and wonders followed him. He moved in words of knowledge with incredible accuracy. He was disciplined in prayer, fasting, and was an avid student of Scripture. The magnitude of God’s anointing on his life was revealed in his sermons and writings.
While counseling a woman, Troy discovered that she was a witch. Without intercessory assistance, he attempted to deliver her. Pretending to be delivered, the witch built a web of flattery, telling Troy how great he was. She claimed that when he prayed, she felt God’s touch like never before. Shortly thereafter, subtle changes began to affect Troy’s life. His hunger for spiritual things began to dissipate. His prayer life, fasting, and Bible study diminished. He excused his disinterest as being due to an ever increasing workload. Thus, the trap was set. Within nine months, he developed prostate cancer and died. The woman inherited all his wealth. She later drew another pastor into her web and married him. He also died.
Troy’s story is an example of how someone with a “mature” Jezebel spirit will seek to destroy a man of God through manipulation, deception, and sexuality. This spirit imparts its curse much like the venomous Black Widow spider that destroys its mate after sexual union. Furthermore, with sexual immorality comes a curse of sorcery that results in physical illness and death to the one who joins in this seductive ploy (Revelation 2:22). Someone with a Jezebel spirit is attracted by the allure of a pastoral anointing. As light draws a moth, so a pastoral anointing draws a Jezebel spirit. Any power outside its own threatens loss of control. This spirit, therefore, drives an individual to do anything to gain and maintain control over others. A Jezebel spirit is ruthless and deceptive, even to the person who manifests this spirit.

This is crucial that we recognizing the operation of a Ahab spirit within us as Abba is exposing both Ahab and the Jezebel spirit. Gives us the advantage if we pay careful attention to its attributes described in this lesson. Ahab wasn’t willing to use his authority as king. Yet sought after the council of his heathen wife as a coward. To steal, kill and falsely accuse and innocent man for his land. Just to build a garden. A GARDEN!!! Let that sink in to tell you the type of man and king Ahab was. As well as the physical, mental and spiritual hold Jezebel had on Ahab. In order to manipulate a King of Israel to cower to such a weak minded state.
Romans 8:37-39 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Sex, enticement, manipulation is what the world teaches us to use when you have no values within yourself to get whatever goal if that’s all you have to offer.

Abigail used her wisdom and knowledge of the scriptures to appease David’s rightful vengeance to her husband Nabal for being a flat out fool. She was wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove. Not using the influence of Jezebel. She not only was given David’s hand in marriage but was promoted to be Queen of Israel eventually. Recognition is the key Men and women of Torah
Shema Selah, while the King is in the field, we must hear, listen and obey His instructions for our lives!!
