Hebrews 3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness
In the month of Elul the we are to examine the intentions and allegiance of the heart. A whole month of self examination. Who knows the heart of man better than He who created it?
Jeremiah 17:10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Not to say that all year we go on doing whatever comes to mind and wait till the end of the year to practice Teshuvah. Who does that? (Which means returning to the life of following The Most Highs instructions.)
This should be a life long process day after day of forgiveness of ourselves and others and a personal journey of learning how to walk in the image and likeness of our Elohim. Trusting in the process of transformation into who we are already created to be. Children of the Most High in His image and likeness.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The scriptures calls us to not harden our hearts in the day of provocations in the day of temptation in the wilderness. The whole process of being tested as we misunderstand them as trials. Is to be looked at as just that, a test. Just as Israel came out of Egypt to be tested.
Where is your love of The Most High and fellow man? If you can esteem and go hard after the matters of God and yet turn your face away from practicing love and forgiveness towards your brethren. Then you have failed the test. Even further, How can you love El Elyon who you have not seen and strive with your brethren who you see daily? Who is created in the image and likeness of Elohim and perform acts of evil on a consistent.
1 John 4:20-21 20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also
El Elyon is not mocked. There is no true love but abuse and error of scripture. Selfish gain and low self worth that causes un forgiveness and every fruit of darkness. Due to no true teshuvah towards our Abba and brethren. For He is love and our ultimate example of forgiveness and selflessness.
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Examination of the motives and heart is a daily process and should be practiced on a consistent daily basis. Yet at this time while the King is in the field leading up to His new year. Let us not be like the heathens and wait till the final count down of their new year to make resolution.
But walk in selfless love and forgiveness.
Philippians 3:14-15 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
