DON’T RUN FROM THE PROCESS, IT’S BUILDING YOUR PURPOSE
Beloved, today I bring you to a powerful truth, one that has stood unshaken through centuries of storms, persecutions, trials, and temptations. It is the truth revealed in the timeless words of the psalmist: “I will lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence comes my help? My help comes from Yahuah, who made heaven and earth.” Tehilliym 121:1-2. This Scripture is not a mere poetic line. It is a declaration of faith, a divine proclamation, and a spiritual shield that secures the heart of every believer in times of fear, uncertainty, and evil.
It reminds us that our protection does not come from men. It does not come from governments. It does not come from wealth, influence, or earthly power. It comes from Yahuah, the Creator of heaven and earth. Let us pause and reflect deeply on this truth. When the psalmist declares, “My help comes from Yahuah,” he is not speaking about a passive hope. He is speaking about an active, living, covenant-keeping Yah who watches over His people day and night.
The divine shield we find in Tehilliym 121 is not an abstract idea. It is the reality of Yah’s protective power surrounding us like mountains around Yerushalayim. Tehilliym 125:2. It is the same Yah who parted the Red Sea to shield His children from Pharaoh’s armies. The same Yah who shut the mouths of lions when Daniy’el was in the den. The same Yah who stood as a fiery wall of protection around Chananyahu, Miysha’el, and Azaryahu in the furnace. This Yah has not changed. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Ivriym 13:8.
The psalmist assures us further, “He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber.” Tehilliym 121:3. What a profound revelation of divine vigilance. The enemy watches for every opportunity to cause you to stumble, but Yah declares, “I will not allow it.” Ha’Satan may attempt to sift you as wheat just as he desired to sift Kepha, Luqas 22:31, but Yahusha Himself intercedes that your faith should not fail.
The Yah who keeps you does not slumber, neither does He sleep. Men grow weary. Friends may forget you. Family may fail you. Leaders may neglect you. But your Keeper is awake at all times. He neither dozes off nor turns His eyes away. He is fully engaged, actively watching, and eternally faithful to His word.
When you understand the weight of this truth, you walk differently in life. Fear loses its grip. Anxiety surrenders its hold, and doubt finds no resting place in your heart because you know that the One who made heaven and earth, the Aleph and the Tav, the beginning and the end, is committed to keeping you in perfect peace. Yeshayahu 26:3 declares, “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” And that peace is not fragile. It is not subject to the shifting winds of life’s storms. It is the peace that Yahusha Himself promised: “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you.” Yahuchanon 14:27.
Now hear the promise again in Tehilliym 121:5: “Yahuah is your keeper. Yahuah is your shade at your right hand.” In the desert heat, shade means survival. In the scorching trials of life, Yahuah positions Himself as your covering. He shields you from the burning rays of affliction, from the oppressive heat of temptation, from the consuming fire of adversity. Just as He was the pillar of cloud by day for Yashar’el in the wilderness, Shemoth 13:21, so He stands as your shade today.
He covers you, guards you, and protects you in ways you cannot even see. Many battles you never knew were fought on your behalf. Many attacks of the enemy were already intercepted before they reached your doorstep. Many traps were dismantled before you even stepped near them. Why? Because Yahuah is your keeper.
Verse 6 continues, “The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.” This is a totality of protection. Day and night, visible and invisible, natural and spiritual. The psalmist is declaring that no time, no season, no circumstance is beyond the covering of Yah. Whether it is the dangers that manifest in the day, the storms, the conflicts, the visible challenges, or the hidden fears that arise in the night, the unseen threats, the silent terrors, the whispers of the enemy in the dark, Yahuah covers them all.
Tehilliym 91 echoes this truth: “You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day.” Tehilliym 91:5. Your life is under twenty-four-hour divine surveillance. Angels are on assignment around you. For it is written, “For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.” Tehilliym 91:11.
Let us look closer at verse 7: “Yahuah shall preserve you from all evil. He shall preserve your soul.” Do you hear the absoluteness in that statement? Not some evil, not most evil, but all evil. Every weapon fashioned against you, every plan of darkness, every snare of the wicked is countered by the preserving power of Yahuah. Yeshayahu 54:17 declares, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn.” That is the heritage of the servants of Yahuah.
You must understand, beloved, that the evil one is relentless, but Yah’s preservation is greater. Yahusha prayed in Yahuchanon 17:15, “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.” That prayer was not limited to the disciples standing with Him at that time. It extends to every believer, including you today. You are preserved by divine decree.
This preservation is not merely external. Verse 7 emphasizes, “He shall preserve your soul.” The soul—your mind, your will, your emotions—is the very battlefield where the enemy launches his fiercest attacks. Fear, doubt, despair, depression, temptation, all these are battles that rage in the realm of the soul. Yet Yahuah declares, “I will preserve your soul.” He fortifies your mind with truth. He strengthens your heart with courage. He aligns your will with His Ruach.
The Apostle Pa’al reminds us in Philippiym 4:7, “And the peace of Yah, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Mashiach Yahusha.” That is preservation in action. Yah Himself setting a garrison around your inner life so that even when storms rage outside, your soul remains anchored in His peace.
The psalm concludes with this powerful assurance: “Yahuah shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth and even forevermore.” Tehilliym 121:8. What a magnificent promise. Your steps are ordered. Your movements are covered. Your journeys are secured. Whether you step into a new day, a new season, a new challenge, or even the unknown, Yahuah preserves you. This preservation is not temporary. It is eternal. From this time forth and even forevermore, His covenant of protection surrounds you.
This echoes the words of Yahusha in Mattithyahu 28:20: “And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Yah’s protection is not seasonal. It is everlasting. His presence does not expire. His covering does not fade. His shield does not weaken.
Beloved, when you grasp this revelation, you will rise above fear because fear thrives on ignorance of Yah’s promises. But when you know that Yahuah is your keeper, you walk with holy confidence. You wake up in the morning knowing that angels encamp around you. You walk into uncertain places knowing that the presence of Yah goes before you. You face challenges not with trembling hands, but with steadfast faith because the Maker of heaven and earth has declared His commitment to preserve you.
This psalm is more than words to recite. It is a prayer to embody, a declaration to release, a covenant to hold on to. When you pray Tehilliym 121, you are aligning yourself with the eternal truth that Yah is your shield. When sickness attempts to invade, declare, “Yahuah shall preserve me from all evil.” When fear whispers in the night, declare, “The sun shall not strike me by day, nor the moon by night.” When the enemy rises against you, lift your eyes to the hills and declare, “My help comes from Yahuah, who made heaven and earth.”
When you truly believe Tehilliym 121, your prayer life changes. You no longer pray with the language of fear, but with the language of faith. You stop begging Yah as though He is distant and unconcerned. And you begin declaring His promises with boldness, knowing that He watches over His word to perform it. Yirmeyahu 1:12. You start praying with the assurance that your Father has already positioned His protection around you. And when you speak, your words align with His covenant. The word says in Iyov 22:28, “You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you. So light will shine on your ways.” That is the authority of the believer. Your declarations rooted in the word of Yah create a shield of faith around you.
