We are walking in today: Position Yourself At His Feet.
Luke 10:38-42 38) Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39) And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. 40) But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. 41) And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42) But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. There are two observations related to fellowship with God. First, sitting at Jesus feet Martha was so busy in life that she had forgotten to stop to smell the roses. She had not taken the needed time to sit at Jesus feet and refresh her soul. The truth is when we sit at Jesus feet and make devotional time with Him, we are choosing something that can never be taken away from us. Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. As we wait to hear from Him--sit at His feet. The world with all its alarms cannot steal away our devotional life with the Lord when we make it our highest priority. We must take time to devotionally meet with the Lord, where we can give Him our hearts, and commit our days to Him. If we want to keep ourselves spiritually sane and keep our lives from falling apart, we need to remember to sit at the feet of Jesus. The Bible says in Luke 10:39, that Mary took time to sit at Jesus feet and listen to His word. This means that Mary knew what was the most important in her life. Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord. How can we expect to keep our lives in spiritual tune when we never want to listen to Jesus? Christ wants us to listen to His word and obey it. He wants us to take time with Him where we can allow Him to once again speak to us, redirect us, and strengthen us for the journey. It is very important to have a daily quiet time with the Lord. Isaiah 30:15 says, for thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not. In Matthew 14:23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. In this verse we find that Jesus 'went up into a mountain apart to pray.' He knew the importance of having a spiritual retreat where He could talk to the Father and commune with Him. Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. When Jesus when up to the mountainside to pray, He separated Himself from the others. Separate yourself from the world, to sit at His feet. Luke 7:38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. It's okay, sometimes we sit at His feet and weep. God has a word on that--Psalm 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Sit at His feet all day today. Deuteronomy 4:29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. Make time to be in His presence, fiveamprayer. As David did in, 1 Chronicles 16:10-12 10) Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. 11) Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually. 12) Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth. When we sit at His feet, we are seeking His face. Jacob is a witness of this. Genesis 32:20 And say ye moreover, Behold, thy servant Jacob is behind us. For he said, I will appease him with the present that goeth before me, and afterward I will see his face; peradventure he will accept of me. Wait on Him and seek His face. Genesis 32:30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved. Fiveamprayer, let us seek His face together! Praise His name!
We have to humble ourselves and sit at His feet. We need a word that speaks to us. We must ask Him, what His will is--not our will be done, but His be done. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Sitting at His feet we receive breakthroughs, just touch the hem of His garment for healing. You are already sitting at His feet, all wrapped up in His hem. Receiving from Him, His peace, love, wisdom, knowledge sitting at His feet. Put everything aside, sit at His feet make time for God daily. Sitting at His feet for more and more of Him. No one can do it but You, Lord. We need to be filled to where every word we speak is Your word. We are committed to You, we love You for teaching us to sow a seed in this season. We are seeking a way out, sitting at Your feet. Looking for reconciliation in marriages, sitting at Your feet. Lifting up our finances to You, sitting at Your feet. Asking for covering for our children, sitting at Your feet. Your word is the only thing that will keep us, provide for us, and restore us. Your word says that, Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. Fiveamprayer is sitting at Your feet, Lord, in Your presence. We are in a relationship with You, Lord. Remember on May 18th we went to the Father to commit ourselves to Him again. We are seeking Him, we want the good part, that shall not be taken away from us! We want to know more and more of You, God. Sitting at Your feet: to be filled with the Holy Ghost, for another touch from You, for another anointing. We sit at Your feet to thank You for waking us up in our right minds, with brand new mercies, with a heart that is seeking You. You are our all in all--our everything. Fiveamprayer tell God, "I gonna stay right here, until You say to move." Sitting at His feet is where you get fed. Let us slow down and take time for a relationship with God. Spending time in His presence, reading His love letters to us and in conversation with Him. We gotta hear from You--he that has ears, let him hear. The Lord is the way out of no way. He can reconcile marriages. He provides for us, so we don't need to worry about finances. To find out how He accomplishes this, we must sit at His feet to hear from Him. To find out how to proceed. To find out, what is our part? Some times we forget to stop and just sit at Your feet, listening to every word that comes from Your mouth. We must tune everything else out--hear from God only, sitting at His feet. Take time today to meditate on His word, sitting at His feet. We are sorry for not taking time to sit at Your feet. Thank You for forgiving us. We know that when You forgive there is no condemnation. Lord we learn how to forgive others, sitting at your feet. Then we can say what Jesus said, "I do what I see My Father do," and release others of their offenses, as the Father has released us. We lift up prayer requests, those known and unknown. We lift up Marissa Grant who is preparing for surgery, sitting at His feet confessing by His stripes she is completely healed. Thank You Lord! Praise Your holy name! Fiveamprayer, we must slow down and take time for God. He has certainly made time for us, all the time, every time.
We write in the precious blood: 1 Chronicles 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
Welcome to the overflow
As you sit at His feet, make another request. Jabez was an honorable man, so he spent time at His feet, hearing from the Lord. Fiveamprayer is committed to You, Lord. We are not too busy--we must reposition ourselves to hear from You. Sometimes we can't hear from Him because we are out of position. Get back to your proper position, at His feet--you will hear from Him. He has so much to share with us, when we seek Him out. Seeking the Lord, let's Him know that He is important to us. We dedicate time to spending with Him--being in His presence. Sit at His feet--He is answering our thoughts. Slow down and sit at His feet today. Read the scriptures for yourself today. Have a blessed day.
