Stranded In Babylon
Fiveamprayer, we have a question to ask ourselves this morning.  During or time of testing are we being stranded in Babylon?  The first chapter of Daniel shows us Judea going into exile at the hands of the Babylonian king.  In Daniel's complete devotion to Yahweh, he and 3 other Hebrew boys are noted throughout this chapter for holding onto the proper and original teaching and instructions from Almighty God.  We do have to inquire why were these people sent into exile?
Could it be from pride and taking on the ways of the world?  Being sent into Babylon is being sent into confusion.  The ways in Babylon are the opposite of the ways of Yahweh.

Self-check: when you look into the mirror who do your ways reflect?
Who else lives the way that you live?  Or speak the way that you speak?
We have here in the first chapter that Daniel makes a request to not partake of the things that could be outside of Elohim's direction.  Preferring and setting his heart upon obedience to the King of kings instead of the temporary ruling king of Babylon.  The purpose of this
food, study and name change was to have the exiles totally awash in the Babylonian ways so as to remove or push out all that they were used to.  Is is possible to stand on all of His word in your heart while surrounded by so much confusion?  Will the hand of Yahweh guide you even in exile?  Is there honor given for upholding all that you already know to be true?  Even in there names being changed from honoring and glorifying the One True God, the Ancient of Days, their names were changed to giving honor to false gods.  Be careful what you allow people to call you!!!  Your name is important and is linked to what you do and how you live.  Hold fast to what the Lord God has taught you!  Don't pollute yourself with the things that are outside of what is wholesome and good given in the Torah!  He does watch over His word to preform it!!  In His word, there must be no compromise!  By Daniel putting their obedience to the test they were found by the king's servant to be stronger, wiser, full of knowledge and wisdom!  Stand on the word of God, this is the test in the time of testing!  Don't get stranded in Babylon!!! Keep moving with the Lord, to where He is leading you!  Fiveamprayer, go back to the ancient paths!  Dare God to test you for the next 10 days!  Click here for more on being stranded in Babylon.
We are starting the Daniel fast--eating fruits and vegetables, whole grains.  We will drink water.  For medical reasons you can fast from something else.
