Do nothing, but trust!

1 Samuel 10:6-8, 10:21-22; Isaiah 40:26, 49:16, 55:9; Psalm 147:6; James 4:10

We are walking in today:  Do nothing, but trust!

1 Samuel 10:6-8  6) And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man. 7) And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as occasion serve thee; for God is with thee. 8) And thou shalt go down before me to Gilgal; and, behold, I will come down unto thee, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings: seven days shalt thou tarry, till I come to thee, and shew thee what thou shalt do.  For years the Israelites has longed to be ruled by a human king.  Finally God allowed it.  He told the prophet, Samuel to anoint Saul to be ruler over Israel.  So the prophet met with Saul and poured a vial of oil over his head and kissed him. Then he told Saul, the Lord has anointed thee to be captain over His inheritance (1 Samuel 10:1).  No human could be given a greater compliment.  Samuel was saying in essence, the Lord is with you, Saul, you are a chosen vessel, hand picked by God.  Moreover, God immediately blessed Saul with a heart to fulfill his calling.  God gave Saul another heart and the Spirit of God came upon him and he prophesied.  Saul was not a braggart.  He did not flaunt his anointing or position.  In fact the Bible says he saw himself as small.  We see an example of this when Saul, returns home from his meeting with Samuel.  His uncle stops him, curious about what had happened.  This uncle is aware that Samuel had a reputation of speaking only with a powerful purpose in mind.  So he begged his nephew, please tell me, Saul what did Samuel say to you?  But scripture says, of the matter of the kingdom where Samuel spoke to Saul, he told him not.  Saul was sitting on incredible news!  Yet he didn't breathe a word of it to anybody.  I ask you, how many people do you know that would keep such a thing to themselves?!  Soon afterward Samuel gathered the nation and the prophet had two purposes in mind, chasten the people for forsaking God and desiring a human king.  Then he also wanted to present Saul to the people, as God's chosen ruler.  Yet when the time came for Saul to come out, he could not be found.  1 Samuel 10:21-22 21) When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saul the son of Kish was taken: and when they sought him, he could not be found. 22) Therefore they enquired of the LORD further, if the man should yet come thither. And the LORD answered, Behold he hath hid himself among the stuff.  When Saul was brought before the people, he was everything they could have wanted in a king, he was tall, handsome--higher than any of the people from his shoulders upwards.  Samuel said of him, there is none like him among all of the people.  Israel, gave their approval by saying God gave and save the king!  In the first two years, king Saul proved himself to be strong, godly leader.  When he heard that the Ammonites has invaded, the Spirit of the Lord came upon Saul--he quickly constructed a military defense of 330,000 men, a well equipped army that crushed the Ammonites.  After Saul gave all of the glory to the Lord.  Soon the godly king lead Israel to victory over every nation that came up against them.  Who wouldn't want such a man as king!?  Saul was humble, diligent and impressive in appearance.  He was favored by God, moving mighty in the Spirit, attentive to the direction of the holy prophet.  Saul was the model of the godly leader, yet incredibly this same anointed man would die in rebellion.  Shortly after his amazing victory, Saul lost his anointing and was stripped of his kingdom.  He was forsaken by God.  No longer able to hear the Spirit's voice and eventually possessed by a evil spirit.  He ended up killing innocents, ordered the death of God's appointed priests and on the eve of his death--sought the direction of a witch.  The king who once had lead Israel to triumph over it's enemies, finished his days as a raving mad man.  What a sad end to a once appointed servant of God.  What happened to Saul?  What sent this humble man, spiraling downwards into madness and destruction?  You gotta think about this for a moment.  Saul faced a moment that every believer must eventually confront.  It was a critical time, a time of crisis. When we are forced to decide whether we will wait on God by faith not to get impatient and take matters into our own hands.  Saul had such a moment.  Think about it--he was coming up against the Philistines.  They had a huge army, 6,000 horsemen, 30,000 iron chariots and legions of soldiers.  They had the latest weapons, their shields appeared to number the sands of the sea to the Israelites.  By contrast the children of Israel had only two swords, one for Saul the other for Jonathan.  Everyone else had wooden spears  As the Israelites saw that mighty Philistines approaching, they panicked.  The people hid themselves in caves, thickets, rocks and high places.  Some sneaked across the border into other countries, to avoid being in Saul's army.  Others openly deserted in cowardice.  Suddenly the army of 330,000 who had defeated many armies before--is now down to 600 and even those who remained, trembled in fear.  Israel's situation seemed hopeless--a week earlier Samuel had warned Saul to wait for him, at Gilgal before going into battle.  The prophet had said that he would arrive after 7 days to make the proper sacrifice to the Lord.  We aren't told the significance of the 7 day period, maybe Samuel knew he would be in travel for a little while.  That is was gonna take that long to get there.  Yet it is likely that the long wait was to test Saul's faith.  When the 7 days came, and Samuel had not arrived, Saul's remaining soldiers began to scatter--worse the king did not have God's direction for battle.  Now put yourself in Saul's position for a moment.  You see this awesome Philistine army, marching towards you, you can feel the rumble of their mighty chariots, then you turn and look at your own troops who are trembling and are holding pitiful weapons  Everything is spinning out of control  What are you gonna do?!  You may wonder what Saul was expected to do, just sit there and wait?!  Doing nothing!?  Yes!  That was exactly what he was supposed to do!  Wait and pray and do nothing but trust in God!  In fact this was implied when Samuel introduced Saul as king to the people--if the king, Saul would fear the Lord and serve Him and obey His voice and not rebel against the commandment of the Lord.  Then shall both ye and also the king continue following  the Lord.  But if ye will not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandments of the Lord, then shall the hand of the Lord come against you.
God came to tell you--to do nothing, but trust God!  Don't get out of position, wait on the Lord.  We are to wait and pray, in our marriages, finances, singleness, children--do nothing but trust God!  Don't move, stand.  He is hiding us in the secret place.  How can we do nothing, with all kinds of hell going on?!  Do nothing, but trust God!  We are to trust Him in all of our ways, acknowledging Him!  No matter what we are faced with on your job, your marriage--do nothing but trust God!  Don't get in the way.  He is hiding us, but you have to abide in Him!  The enemy wants to drive you crazy, give God your mind and do nothing!  Do move, don't speak, be in doubt or worried.  Be still, quiet, abide and trust in Him!  How are you gonna tell me to do nothing?!  Trust God!  But my unemployment has ran out--do nothing but trust God.  The God that we serve supplies all of our needs according to His riches in glory!  Husband walked out, do nothing, but trust God!  We serve the God of reconciliation.  We can walk through this storm--we are to walk by faith and not by sight, so we are not worried about what we see in the natural.  God has already told us that this is the year that we will see!  Will you stand trusting Him, doing nothing as He is directing you to do?!  Don't miss God!  Do nothing, but trust Him!  That is how important it is for us to trust Him that He is telling us this morning to stop and do nothing but trust!  Which lets us know that God is moving and will show up mighty in that situation.  He wants your full attention.  You can't go off and try your own way out.  This is about direct, focus on Him--trusting that His word is true.  That He will deliver on all of His promises.  That He is God and is more than able to handle any and everything that we are dealing with!  So why not trust Him?  When you tried it all on your own, it did not work out!!  Now that you are back in position, don't move--stay, abide, reside in His presence and do nothing!!  Don't move, you may bend but you won't break!  Trust God with your marriage.  Marriages are under attack, we must trust God!  Stop looking for a husband, trust Him in your singleness.  A man finds a wife!  Do nothing, abide in the Almighty!  You are wrapped up in God--do nothing!  Trust in Him only!  He is the supplier of all of our needs according to His riches in glory!  Do nothing but trust in He who created all things--Isaiah 40:26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.  Do nothing but trust in He who has our names engraved in His hand--Isaiah 49:16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.  Do nothing but trust in He who's thoughts and ways are higher than ours!  Isaiah 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.  Trust God, fiveamprayer! Don't take the battle into your own hands, like Saul.  Saul was not trusting in the God that has brought him through before.  He was instructed to wait 7 days for Samuel to make the proper sacrifice.  As you continue to read this chapter, Samuel does show up as he said he would.  Saul moved without God, because he thought he was alone.  Facing a large army, with troops diminished in spirit and weapons, he moved out of position.  We are to do nothing but trust God!  But you keep having thoughts of what you can say or do, the devil is liar!  Do nothing, trust God!  Sometimes it is the simplest things that are more difficult that you realize.  There is too much on the line to try to work it out yourself and get out of line.  Many of us are such do-it-yourselfers that we are all our of position.  Doing things yourself shows your lack of trust in God.  It is just like when you ask someone to do something, if you don't trust and believe that they can do it, you will take it up yourself.  Even if they are in the midst of completing that thing, you just rush in and take over.  The difference of this situation with others than with God is that He knows the end from the beginning and we can only see a limited space or time.  God knows, that is why He comes to tell us, not to get a bright idea and try something or move right now!  This is not the time to get creative and put something together.  This is the time to be still, abide and wait on the Lord.  What is so good about God is that He never misses His appointments.  You will never be left out in the rain, waiting on Him--never stranded, or without!  Even if the sky gets dark and the storm clouds beginning to gather over your head, He is keeping us and we are to abide in Him.  To abide means that you trust where you are.  That you can relax and let someone else take over.  Just like you would not feel comfortable going to sleep in a house without good locks and a sturdy door--God's abode is secure so you can rest and sit back--He said for us to do nothing but trust in Him!  That means He has this all under His control, authority, and power!  There is nothing that you can add to this situation!!  Sit back and watch God show up mighty in your life!  Psalm 147:6 The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.   James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.  Do nothing, but trust God!  Don't get out of position!  The devil wants you to move and get out of line.  Don't fall for those tricks, we are hidden and making our abode with Him!  We don't reside where we don't feel safe, in a place that we don't trust.  Fiveamprayer, we have set up residence in the Lord, He is our shelter, our strong tower, where else can you trust or truly rest?!  No where!  Do nothing, but trust God!  There is no weapon formed against us that shall prosper!  Do nothing but trust in God!  They that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength!  While you are trusting in God, doing nothing--He is renewing our strength.  We are in need of strength right now.  We have worn ourselves out trying this our way.  We have found rest, hidden in the shadow of the Almighty.  Now that we are abiding in Him, go on and finish the job and trust Him, doing nothing.  Not trying what you hear others do.  Not looking for a way out of no way, the only one who makes a way out of no way is God!!  So you should be looking to Him, trusting Him, seeking Him!  This is our time to wait, fiveamprayer!  He told us that we will see.  It is just like that in the natural.  When you are waiting for someone, you are in expectation that they will show up.  The difference is that God is not a man that He should lie, so He will show up!!  We don't have to do, are not instructed to do nothing but trust!  Show us Your glory, Lord!  Do nothing, but trust God!  He answers our prayers, keep walking in your trust in the Lord.  We have to really get that, in God we trust!  Not in anything else!  All other things will fail but His word stands forever!!  So if I were you I would put my trust in things that are everlasting.  No more temporary successes for us, now we have eternal success at His word and direction!  Hallelujah!  Praise Him!  Glory to His name!  Thank You God!  Don't do anything in the midst of all hell breaking loose!  Abide, do nothing!!  He gives us an example, Saul was winning while he was trusting God.  Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord!  We lift up fiveamprayer, this morning!  Have them to do nothing but trust You!  Have them to really rest in Your presence!  In Your peace that surpasses all understanding.  We don't have to understand, but to trust in the Almighty!  Hold your peace, fiveamprayer, do nothing!  The Lord will fight your battles!  Thank You God we come to lift up prayer requests, those known and unknown.  We lift up marriages, they are under attack--do nothing, trust God.  He is a God of reconciliation, what God has put together, let no man put asunder.  In your singleness, do nothing, a man who finds a wife, finds a good thing and favor with God.  For those looking for healing, do nothing but trust God.  He told us that by His stripes we were healed.  Healing was already released to us!  Wait on the manifestation of His word, fiveamprayer!  We lay our minds on the alter for Your peace that surpasses all things.  We must do nothing, but trust God!  Forgive us Lord, for taking things into our own hands and making it worse but mostly being disobedient to Your direction!  You have told us that obedience is better than sacrifice.  The battle is not ours it is the Lord's!  Do nothing, but trust!

We seal this prayer in His precious blood, by His Spirit:   If God be for me, who can stand against me?!

Welcome to the overflow...

We are not gonna move.  We will be still doing nothing but trusting in Him!  Get out of God's way!  Don't say a word, we are to hold out peace.  It is like when you were a kid and you played tag, if you made it back to homebase without getting tagged you were safe.  That is what we are doing, we are at homebase, safe--wait on Him, do nothing!  Silence is weapon!  Won't you abide in the secret place?!  Do nothing but trust God!  Thank You Lord!  The blind now see and they don't have to do anything but trust!  There are scales falling off of eyes right now!  God is gonna show us better than tell us!  God will show up and show out!!   He is the only one that shows up exceedingly and abundantly more than we could ask or think!!  We don't have to do nothing!  Only trust and stand on His word.  Why would you be fearful, God has not given us that, He has given us power, love and sound mind.  You can't make a way, it is He that is the Way the Truth and the Life!  We can't help God out--He did not post a help wanted sign out front, so stop harrassing Him--offering your services?!  He is well able to handle anything and everything!!  We must repent for being out of order.  Wait on Him, don't try to do it yourself.  Do nothing!  The enemy is gonna bring all kinds of stuff your way, he wants to see what your response will be.  Do nothing, but trust God!  Thank You God!  We will reap the harvest if we faint not!  Hallelujah!  We shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!  Don't faint, wait on the Lord to renew your strength!  We trust You Lord!  We are taking our hands off, nevertheless, Thy will be done!  We will abide in You!  We are able to bear it, to stand still, after doing all that we can.  Do nothing but trust God!  Trust God, fiveamprayer!!!  Thank You Lord!  We are excited that we don't have to do anything, but trust Him!  You have been fasting and praying in that situation--do nothing, but trust!  The example that He gives is Saul--he is to wait for 7 days, even with an army coming against you.  He was delivered before--that is why we are to wait on Him.  Because that is what He has told us, also our previous experience tells us that He will deliver on His word.  Do nothing but trust!    Don't get out of position, not wavering--trusting Him!  Trust Him all the way in your marriages, finances, your whole life!!  There is no stopping, you are to walk through the valley of the shadow of death not take up residence there.  We are to have our address in Him that is where we are to live and remain!!  Do nothing, but trust!  Hallelujah!  Read all of 1 Samuel 10 for yourself.  Saul was anointed, chosen and given a new heart.  The people wanted a king, Saul is what God gave them.  Wait on Him, in the waiting you are showing that you trust Him!  That is what we are gonna do this morning!  Nothing, but trust in Him!  When you are waiting for someone, you are trusting that they will show up!  Thank You for being a God that does not let His people down!  What is fiveamprayer gonna do---nothing!  There is power in agreement!  Visit us on facebook--Remain in His abode and peace, have a blessed day!
