We are walking in today:  Do Not Miss Use God's Name!

Exodus 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

This morning we come to close out the third commandment.  The relationship that we have with our parents is similar to our relationship that we have the the Lord God.  These commandments teach us how we are to walk with Him and how we treat others.  We are to respect Him to the best of our ability.  We are to honor and respect His name, Exodus 20:7.  Is the Lord first in our lives?  There is a spiritual cancer that God is known and yet the least regarded even by those who profess belief in Him!  We have to understand that names are important and give insight to the character of the person.  Each of the names of the Lord that He reveals to us, will show us another attribute of His character.  Isaiah 48:1  The test of spiritual cleanliness is how we regard the name of God.  Don't talk about Him continually yet ignore Him in your daily life!  The importance of a person's name is shown all through out the Bible.  So we must not be so focused on sounds of the name from the various languages that speak of Him but the meaning that His name conveys, His office, His authority and His character.  He should be revered because He stands in all power, authority and knowledge!   He is the eternal, self existent One!  To hear this again click here.
