Pray, Pray, And Pray Some More!

Matthew 21:13, Isaiah 56:7, Daniel, Psalm 55:17, Luke 2:36-37, Joshua 1:8, Luke 14:16, Proverbs 22:6, Daniel 1:7, Acts 8:26-28, John 16:23

We are walking in today:  Pray, Pray, And Pray Some More!

Prayer gets you focused on God and allows you time for meditation. The book of Daniel shows us the contrast of those who put their trust in God, the Father of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and those who put their trust in other gods. The Hebrew people meticulously followed the customs of God’s Law which shaped their lives and developed their faith and commitment to God. In fact Christ and His family followed the customs of the Law as well. This included the daily prayers that are cited many times in the book of Daniel. These prayers helped to keep Daniel close to Elohim even though he was in captivity and the prayers were recited daily. God, Himself, instructed Joshua to observe all that was instructed in the Law, which includes daily prayer. Therefore, prayer is not an option for God’s chosen people, it is a commandment. Daily prayer and scripture reading keeps God in our minds and hearts. Daily prayer provides immeasurable value as it plants seeds in our hearts from the Word of God. God’s truth will provide us with direction and confidence. It should be our custom as it was for David, Daniel, Joshua and Anna. Choose to follow these examples of having a God centered life and have an unwavering commitment to God. Adonai’s chosen people are superior because they are people who are shaped by the ways of the Lord. They have a faith so strong that nothing can harm them! That faith comes from believing in our Lord God Almighty! We have to be willing to love God with all our hearts, read scriptures, pray three times each day, and truly make God number one in our lives. Like Daniel, we don’t have to wrestle with the issues of everyday life if we are always filled with the truth of God. God didn’t keep Daniel from entering the lion’s den, but He met Daniel in the midst of His calamity and delivered him because Daniel believed in his God! Daniel didn’t cram his heart with scriptures because he found out that he was going to be thrown into the lion’s den, and he didn’t sit inside the cave crying and begging God to save him. Daniel had the faith that he needed before his enemy ever conspired against him! Our faith is activated by the word of God. Take David’s example as both a challenge and an invitation to do your part and allow the word of God to penetrate your heart. So pray, pray, and pray some more, devote your life to God and choose to live your life according to God's ways, and His alone!  Amen.  To hear this again click here.
