Day 4 Counting the Omer
ד (Dalet)
Psalm 119:25-32
25 I lie prostrate in the dust; revive me, in keeping with your word.
26 I told you of my ways, and you answered me; teach me your laws.
27 Make me understand the way of your precepts, and I will meditate on your wonders.
28 I am melting away from anxiety and grief; renew my strength, in keeping with your word.
29 Keep deceitful ways far from me, and favor me with your Torah.
30 I choose the way of trust; I set your rulings [before me].
31 I cling to your instruction; Adonai, don’t let me be put to shame!
32 I will run the way of your mitzvoth, for you have broadened my understanding.
Teach us to number our days as the prayer of Moses finds its ways in the book of Psalms. As if Moses didn’t write songs. Read Deuteronomy 32:1-43. A solemn song given before the death of Moshe. Yet understanding this context as Torah observers we always approach scriptures from a Hebraic perspective because the words given to Moshe were given in the ancient Aleph-Bet. As the 1st commandments were written by Elohim and then the 2nd set of commandments transcribed by Moshe. A Hebrew God unto His chosen, set apart people, Hebrews.
What does it mean to teach us to number our days though? Could it mean counting up to our birthdays again I emphasize the counting up. Which is so different from the examples Adonai gave to Israel versus the Pagan mindset of counting down. New Year’s folks count down and various other occurrences and celebrations the world participates in. But Hebraically we are taught to be set apart and follow the examples Hashem has given us from creation.
Leviticus 20:26 Rather, you people are to be holy for me; because I, Adonai, am holy; and I have set you apart from the other peoples so that you can belong to me.
Deuteronomy 14:2 because you are a people set apart as holy for Adonai your God. Adonai your God has chosen you to be his own unique treasure out of all the peoples on the face of the earth.
Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I separated you for myself. I have appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.”
Hebrews 10:10 It is in connection with this will that we have been separated from God and made holy, once and for all, through the offering of Yeshua the Messiah’s body.
In Genesis, we see from the beginning The Most High is using the numbering method to show us who has an ear and eyes to see to count up. Day 1-7 acts of creation and examples into understanding the plan of salvation is laid out before us.
Genesis 1:3-5 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. So there was evening, and there was morning, one day.
The light of the Most High separated darkness so that things that were not seen could be seen. Once again a separation process and we look at the word light in Hebrew which is Ore which means to shine. This is where we get the Torah which is the Most Highs teachings and instructions separating the Light of truth from the false darkness of this world. From the beginning, He knew darkness would engross the minds of mankind. But to those that know how to count will not be deceived.
Genesis 1:7-8 7 God made the dome and divided the water under the dome from the water above the dome; that is how it was, 8 and God called the dome Sky. So there was evening, and there was morning, the second day.
This separation from the sky’s above from the earth below pointing to the wisdom of The Most High versus the doctrines of man knowing that in time man would worship things in his own wisdom versus the God of Abraham. Isaiah 55:9 says “As the Heavens are above the earth so are my ways higher than your ways.
Genesis 1:10-13 10 God called the dry land Earth, the gathering together of the water he called Seas, and God saw that it was good. 11 God said, “Let the earth put forth grass, seed-producing plants, and fruit trees, each yielding its own kind of seed-bearing fruit, on the earth”; and that is how it was. 12 The earth brought forth grass, plants each yielding its own kind of seed, and trees each producing its own kind of seed-bearing fruit, and God saw that it was good. 13 So there was evening, and there was morning, the third day.
The separation of Earth and the Sea and the vegetation of the earth The Most Highs plan for provision and within the provision. The plan of salvation for his children to bare fruits of righteousness and in turn causing more to wake up to salvation. He is super bad at counting all!!
Genesis 1:14-19 14 God said, “Let there be lights in the dome of the sky to divide the day from the night; let them be for signs, seasons, days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the dome of the sky to give light to the earth”; and that is how it was. 16 God made the two great lights — the larger light to rule the day and the smaller light to rule the night — and the stars. 17 God put them in the dome of the sky to give light to the earth, 18 to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness, and God saw that it was good. 19 So there was evening, and there was morning, the fourth day.
This one requires the whole scripture because there is so much meat in the meaning it could be a sermon or two. The light once again explained to separate darkness. But not only from darkness but signs to seasons, days, and years. As explains Leviticus 23 these signs and seasons are the Feast days of The God of Israel to observe hidden in the beginning never to be done away with. Established in the beginning of creation as we know it. Even still we have the assurance of light in darkness idiomatic to the false doctrine never ever overcoming truth even in this day and time.
Genesis 1:21-23 21 God created the great sea creatures and every living thing that creeps so that the water swarmed with all kinds of them, and there was every kind of winged bird, and God saw that it was good. 22 Then God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful, multiply and fill the water of the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 So there was evening, and there was morning, the fifth day.
Separating land creatures from the sea creatures as the sun shines on the good and the bad the Lord Adonai is merciful and sovereign not to say these were bad because all He did was good. But to see the separation and the Fifth day establishing His eternal omnipotence and instructions as in the 5 books of the Torah the foundation of the teachings of El Shaddai 5 loaves of bread also the word of the Torah which we know, Yeshua is the bread of Life.
Genesis 1:26-31 26 Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, in the likeness of ourselves; and let them rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the animals, and over all the earth, and over every crawling creature that crawls on the earth.” 27 So God created humankind in his own image; In the image of God he created him: Male and female he created them. 28 God blessed them: God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the air and every living creature that crawls on the earth.” 29 Then God said, “Here! Throughout the whole earth, I am giving you as food every seed-bearing plant and every tree with seed-bearing fruit. 30 And to every wild animal, the bird in the air and creature crawling on the earth, in which there is a living soul, I am giving as food every kind of green plant.” And that is how it was. 31 God saw everything that he had made, and indeed it was very good. So there was evening, and there was morning, the sixth day.
The crown of His creation created and crowned in His image and likeness as rulers Kings of The Most Highs creation over all things pertained to this earth. The Sixth day.
Genesis 2:1-3 1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, along with everything in them. 2 On the seventh day God was finished with his work which he had made, so he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 God blessed the seventh day and separated it as holy; because on that day, God rested from all his work which he had created so that it itself could produce.
The 7th day is so powerful to establish the omnificent of The Most High and to set this day apart from all other days as the Day the Most High rested from His work and a statute for His children that are called by His name to follow His example. Rest on this day. Now as we have looked at these 7 days of creation in counting and understanding one part of their meaning. Let’s go deeper into what counting can provide you as a believer of the word because you’re going to really need to know how to count in order to unlock spiritual truths of the Most High is conveying. Watch as one example, Peter spoke of a thousand days is a thousand years to Adonai. When we understand this matter that must not be hidden from us we are able to understand the clear work and redemption of our Master as we can see this being firmly declared in Creation Week that gives us a shadow or a picture and pattern for the 7 Millennium (7000 years) of this age, before the renewed heavens and earth shall come. Those who prepare their hearts, or rather establish in their hearts, to seek יהוה and guard all He commands, will be firmly established in His Reign to come, while those who do not, will not!!!
This counting to 50 is a clear command and reminder for us to be a people whose hearts are being faithfully prepared and established to seek יהוה with our all! Only true ‘counters’ or those who are being taught to number their days, by the pure wisdom of Elohim, will understand
What His desire is, and this counting to 50 confirms this for us, as we who walk in His wisdom by guarding His Sabbaths, Feasts and all His commands, understand His desire – which is our set-apartness! Those who cannot count are like the foolish maidens who lack pure oil and will be rejected as not being known by Elohim! Those who disregard the Sabbaths and Feast of יהוה clearly reveal that they cannot count, as they cannot count to 3, 7 or 50, and if they continue to refuse to be taught how to number their days they will not be counted worthy to enter the reign of our Master and
Elohim!
2 Peter 3:8 “But, beloved ones, let not this one matter be hidden from you: that with יהוה one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
1 Samuel 13:13 “And Shemuʼěl said to Sha’ul, “You have been foolish. You have not guarded the command of יהוה your Elohim, which He commanded you. For now, יהוה would have established your reign over Yisra’ĕl forever.”
Ephesians 5:15-16 15 “See then that you walk exactly, not as unwise, but as wise, 16 redeeming the time because the days are wicked. 17 So then do not be foolish, but understand what the desire of יהוה is.”
Joshua 1:8 “Do not let this Book of the Torah depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night so that you guard to do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and act wisely.
As we echo the prayer of Mosheh the man of Elohim, may we too cry out to Elohim and continually ask Him to: Teach us to number our days!!
May our hearts be established in applying the wisdom of Elohim each and every day, guarding the charge to be a Counting people יהוה bless you and guard you; יהוה make His face shine upon you and show favor to you; יהוה lift up His face to you and give you shalom!
Shema Selah let us consider our days that the Most High has given us in the appointed time of the omer. Day 4! Facebook LIVE video
