We are walking in today: Why Is It So Crucial That We Pray, Your Will Be Done?
Matthew 6:9-18 9) After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10) Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11) Give us this day our daily bread. 12) And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13) And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. 14) For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15) But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. 16) Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 17) But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; 18) That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly. Jesus not only taught His disciples to pray, Your will be done (Matthew 6:10),but He also modeled those very words in His own life and ministry. Which of course begs the question, why is it so crucial to pray this way? First we are to pray that Thy will be done, is to recognize the sovereignty of God over every aspect of our daily lives. And in effect it's a way of saying, thank God this world is under His control and not ours! We would be in a terrible state if God gave us every thing that we had asked for. Fact is that we don't know what is best for us. We only see a snapshot of our lives. While God sees our entire lifetime. That is His perspective, which is far more superior to ours! Furthermore to pray, Thy will be done, is daily recognition that our wills must be submitted to His will. One of the most comforting thoughts that can penetrate a human mind--yield to the will of God. It is He that created the whole world and every thing on it. He that has created us and knows what is best for us. That if we would want according to His will, rather than trying to command Him--according to our own will, we will indeed have what He has promised. Peace in the midst of the storms in our life. There is great peace in knowing that the one who taught us to pray Your will be done, has every detail of our lives under His control. Not only is God the object of our faith--He is also the originator of our Faith! Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Indeed He is the originator of our salvation and yes even the originator of our own prayer! Thus whatever we pray whether it is healing or a house, our will is in harmony with His will. We will not receive what we request 100% of the time. However as Christ, prayed--nevertheless Thy will be done! We can rest assured that even in sickness and tragedy--that He is working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). Finally to pray Your will be done is daily recognition that God will not spare us from trials or tribulations, but rather He will use the fiery furnace to purge the impurities in our lives. Ultimately this is the message of the book of Job. He endured more tragedy in a single day than many would experience in their whole life time! Yet in his darkest hour, Job utters ultimate words of faith. Job 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him. For the children of God the hope is not perfect health, happiness in this life time--But a resurrected body in a heavenly dwelling, in the life to come. James 4:14-16 14) Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15) For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. 16) But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. We need to always be praying the will of God. Nevertheless, not my will, Thy will be done! If it be Thy will, Father--let this cup pass from me.
What's going on in your life right now?! Are you telling God, not my will, Thy will be done?! When you make plans is it with the mindset of--if it be Thy will, Lord. Is that our response when we are faced with something? Will we respond like Jesus in the garden, nevertheless Thy will be done? We must pray God's will, as Pastor Taffe prayed on yesterday that we pray, God's will for our life and for the land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Are you praying the will of God?! The will of God in your marriages, your finances, with your children? We must crucify our flesh, pick up our cross and follow Him. The steps of the righteous man are ordered by the Lord. We must have Job's response--though He slays me, yet will I trust Him! He will not put more on us than we can bear. It is His will being done, not yours! If you want your will done, go and make your own world and set it up your way. No? You can't make your own world, well then guess you better get in line with the way that this world works! The Creator is not looking for your notes and tips on how to improve or what you would do different. This is His program, no other options! Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Fiveamprayer, we find that our way out is to trust Him and set down our ways and thoughts! Following where God leads us is how we are blessed. He is a keeper and wants to give us the best, not if it will cause us more harm. He is walking us through this line upon line, precept upon precept! No matter how much it hurts we must line up with His word, His way. If we seek Him we shall find Him! If we knock the door shall be opened! If we ask He shall answer. He is our life, His word created us and gave us our life! How could we not better regard Him and His word?! Get out of self and say that His will be done. Many of us are praying selfish prayers. Time to get in His will and set down your own agenda, permanently! Isaiah 40:27 (AMP) Why, O Jacob, do you say, and declare, O Israel, My way and my lot are hidden from the Lord, and my right is passed over without regard from my God? Fiveamprayer, some of us are sending up selfish prayers. Get in His will! He is giving us time to turn! Obedience is better than sacrifice. If you love Him then you will be obedient to His will. Ask Him, what is His will for your life, for your ministry, for this job, for your marriage. No matter how it hurts--Psalm 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. You don't want to be out of His will! Stop fighting against the will of God, time to line up with His word! We must pray His will, not ours. Pray His will for your life--your life depends on it! Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. What is your will for me, Lord? Sit down and hear from Him. Some of us have too much going on in our ears to hear. Mark 4:9 And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. We must have an ear to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is speaking! Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Pray His will. Thy will be done! Thank You to Pastor Taffe for teaching us that we must pray His will! That His will be done on earth as it is done in heaven! The Holy Spirit is telling us to move out of the way--let God have His way! Let go, and move out of the way. No longer walk in disobedience! He has called us to only operate in obedience. His will be done! That we would pray like Jesus, Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. Some one is getting set free by this word this morning! Thy will be done! Stand on this word like never before and be set free! Some of us have been praying and fasting, yet not standing on His word!? Not responding, Thy will be done! We lift up prayer requests have them to seek Your will being done in the earth! You make all things work together for the good of them that love the Lord, who are called according to His purpose! We know that we can't do it! The only way that is the Truth, the Life and the Way! Thy will be done! Thank You for forgiving us with no condemnation! We know that we are not sufficient in ourselves, all sufficiency is found in You! You are the source and origin of our lives. No matter what man says, discovers or tries to prove otherwise--if it had not been for the Lord on our side, where would we be?! Thank You Lord, Your will be done! It is time to get it right with God! He will manifest and show us His will. Pray that His will be done! No more struggling and not finding a way out. Many of our problems are like reservoirs, man made but they do not compare to the real thing! We can stand on Job's response, though He slays me, yet will I trust Him! God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love and sound mind! Thy will be done! Don't sit there stagnate, when God has been telling you for a long time to move, this way. Thy will be done! Yes to Your will! Yes to Your way! Thy will be done! Let's get free, free from the traps and tricks of the world. When you seal your prayers in the blood of Jesus, that His will be done. People used to say, if the Lord be willing! It is all about His will--this is not a decision that you have control over. The sooner that we all get that figured out, and walk in obedience to Him, the better it will all be! We must change our prayers, no longer pray in the wrong way, for the wrong things! Let us cry out in prayer for God to heal this land, called America!
We seal this prayer in His precious blood, by His Spirit: Thy will be done!
Welcome to the overflow...
Thank You Lord, that You sent us a word that set us free. Job went through more trials and tribulations than we may experience in our whole lives in one day! But look at his response, Job 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him. Hallelujah Lord! When you pray, pray that Thy will be done! He keeps us in perfect peace with our minds stayed on Him! The devil is still a liar! Thank You Jesus! The enemy wants us to keep trying and failing to figure it out. Turn it over to God. Thy will be done! When you pray on your own this morning, yes you should be praying yourself also--you should be praying for Thy will to be done! Look to the God who sits high and looks low, who has the way out of no way, is our Maker, and will never leave us nor forsake us! It is His will that will be done! Hallelujah God! Get free! Stop struggling, lay aside every weight that would so easily beset us! Cast your cares, for He cares for you! Thy will be done! We are wrestling against things that we should not even be fighting!! Thy will be done! The battle is not ours it is the Lords! Go on and seek His face. Thy will be done! Hallelujah God! We can yell out Ruth Ann's name, Thy will be done! There is enough healing in the hem of His garment to heal. Stop trying to figure it out, God has already gotten it worked out! Thy will be done! The word is up front, leading us showing us the way to walk in it. Thank You Lord for teaching us how to pray. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. They will be done! When was the last time you picked up the word? We must demand, declare and decree in the name of Jesus, sealed in His precious blood. Many of us had forgotten our first love. Stop trying to figure it out. Seek His face! That His will be done! Seek His face, be anxious for nothing! Then God comes back to teach us how to pray! To pray His will! We should be set free, seeking His face and then no longer anxious and praying His will. God always lines up His word! Week after week, after week each word builds on the previous one! Thank You God for building us up in Your word! Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free! We are no longer bound by thinking that we can figure it out. Give it all over to God. All the glory, honor and praise! Teach us how to pray as You pray to the Father--nevertheless, not my will, Thy will be done!
