Set Your Affections On The Things Above.

We are walking in today:  Set Your Affections On The Things Above.

Colossians 3:1-2 1) If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2) Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Jesus Christ is risen!  He has ascended and is bodily seated on the right hand of God the Father--making intercession for us.  Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.  What a precious scripture, Jesus is in heaven, interceding as our high priest.  1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.  Jesus Christ, is our heavenly high priest who by His own blood has made possible access for every Christian unto the throne of God, the Father!  What a privilege!  We have an intercessor of which we can point our faith in.  John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.  Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.  How clear it is that we ought to set our affections on heavenly things!  Instead of cares, riches and pleasures of this temporal, earthly life.  Luke 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.  Nearly everyone is thinking about this world, living selfishly from day to day, struggling to get ahead in a world of make believe.  It is all wood, hay and stubble, according to 1 Corinthians 3:12-13 12) Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13) Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.  Which all of these will all be burned up at the judgement seat of Christ.  May we all set our thoughts, feelings, decisions upon things that are above in heaven where Jesus literally and bodily intercedes for all believers on the Father's right hand.  Why are we commanded to do this?  Because if we place our affections on the things of the earth, we shall fail to take the imprint of that which is heavenly. We allow sorrow, care and perplexities to attract our minds to the earth and we magnify a molehill into a mountain. Temporal things are not to engage our whole attention, or engross our minds until our thoughts are entirely of the earth and the earthly.  We are to train and discipline and educate the mind, so that we may think in a heavenly channel.  That we may dwell on things unseen and eternal.  Which we will discern by spiritual vision.  It is seeing Him, who is invisible, that we may obtain strength of mind and vigor of spirit.  This is the way Daniel received strength.  He was called to act a part in the place of the kingdom of Babylon, he proved himself to be a noble statesman in all of his connections with the courts.  The eye was fastened on things unseen and eternal.  When we are labors together with God we cannot set our affections upon the things below.  Where our affections are, our thoughts will be.  Where our thoughts are there our treasure will be.  When we dwell on upon things seen and temporal, we fail to obtain divine knowledge as Daniel did.  What is our position today?  Are we learners in the school of Christ?  Earnestly, seeking to know what is the will of God concerning us?  Jesus said without Me, ye can do nothing.  Since this is our position, shall we permit our minds to wander to the ends of the earth?  No!  We will understand our faith must stand trial!  That we must get stuck on the process.  That we are to have unshakable faith.  Let us set our affections on the the things above.  Keep this in mind while you are going through your weekend meditation, in this the way that you will be able to walk this out by faith and not by sight.  Set your affections on the things above!Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  Fiveamprayer, are you gonna pray without ceasing?  We have seen that the Lord answers prayer!  Hold on to His unchanging hand!  He promised to never leave nor forsake us!  Keep going through no matter what you are faced with. We are to walk by faith and not by sight.  Set your mind on the things above!  Seek Him in every avenue, channel, and thing that you are going through.  Fiveamprayer is gonna seek Him first and set our affections on the things above.  Not being worried about test, trials or tribulations that are going on in the earthly realm.  We know that it is already finished, in the spirit because God is a spirit and everything that is done, is by His Spirit.  We come this morning thanking You for reminding us to set our affections on the things above.  We thank You God for reminding us that you are Alpha and Omega!  We come to thank you for being all that we need in a time and this season like this!  We come to thank You, that every thing that we go through is for our God!  That in You all things work out for our good!  Set our affections on the things above.  Lord we ask that You set our minds and our hearts on the things eternal!  That we continue to seek You in Your word that our minds are transformed and renewed!  With Christ we can do all things!  Greater is He that is with in me, than he that is within this world.  Set your affections on the things that are above!  Seek Him in the high places, we are going into the spiritual realm this morning!  God is opening up the windows of heaven and pouring out a blessing that there is not room enough to receive!  We want more of You and less of us!  Someone is crying out--set your affections on things above.  We are to walk by faith and not by sight.  We trust in You Lord!  We believe Your word and we are not worried about tomorrow.  Thank You Lord for Your strength that is made perfect in our weakness.  We are not worried, our mind is set on the things above!  We are looking to Jesus, the Author and the Finisher of our faith.  We are looking to the hills from which comes our help, our help comes from the Lord!  He is our way out of no way!  He is a healer, that is why we can cast our affection on the things that are above!  Don't get caught up in what you don't see look:  to Jesus, to the hills, to our Author and Finisher, and to the cross!  Set your affections above, fiveamprayer!  Look to Jesus our intercessor, He is telling us that He will never leave us nor forsake us!  Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God!  God gives us a way of escape out of every temptation that we face.  The Lord is our Shepherd and we shall not want!  When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Lord will lift up a standard against him!  No weapon that is formed against us shall prosper!  What did God say in His word?!  That we are more than conquers, more than overcomers!  Where is your affection set?  What is your mind on?  It should be set on God, His mind is on you--Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  Psalm 8:4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?  We are to acknowledge God in all of our ways and He will direct our path.  Look to Him, He is ordering our steps!  The devil is a deceiver, he is coming through your marriage, your children and your finances!  The enemy is looking to keep you distracted and focused on the things that are earthly.  Our cares and affections are to be on those things that are heavenly.  Stop looking at your finances, stand on Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides!  No more temporary fixes!  We are passing though, this world--it is not our home!  This is about saving souls and spreading His word!  Your spouse can't save you, nor your job only His word saves!  Tell the enemy I am in position to receive from God!  I am walking this out by faith and not by sight!  This is our season--set your affections on the things that are above!  Hold on to your faith!  Fight the good fight of faith!  His word says we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!  He says peace be still in the middle of the storm.  That He gives us the peace that surpasses all understanding!  Set your affections on the things that are above!  We have gotta have this faith walk down!  God did not give us the a spirit of fear.  Let go of that false evidence appearing real!  The enemy is still a liar!  What did God say about it?  That He is the truth and the life!  That we are the head and not the tail, above only never beneath!  That we are fearfully and wonderfully made.  Set your affection on the things that are above!  Look to God in your finances, for your children and your marriage.  Don't worry about man and his temporary and fickle approval.  We are to please God and Him alone!  That He may say, Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.  Luke 10:39-42 39) And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. 40) But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. 41) And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42) But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.  We must set our affections on the things that are above!  Draw closer to Him, take time out for Him--stop playing church!  They that thirst after righteousness, shall be filled!  What did God say?  Even with all of your money spent, He is still Jehovah Jireh!  Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?  Look to God in your marriage, He is the God of reconciliation!  We are to pray and not faint!  Don't stop praying because you have gotten your breakthrough!  Set your affections on the things that are above!  We have come this far by faith!  Set your affections on the the things that are above!    Thank You Lord!  With our minds running everywhere and having done all--stand. When you don't know which way to turn, turn to God and set your affections on the things that are above!  Call on Jesus, He is able!  I know that He can do it!  He is able!  Thank You God for reminding us.  Look to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Fiveamprayer, this is a faith walk, follow God where ever He leads you!  Look at Abraham, he followed God and staggered not.  Do you know the God that you serve?!  He is a shield, a Rock of Ages, a mind regulator, the One who you can call on late in the midnight hour.  He changes not!  He is sweet I know, taste and see that the Lord is good!  You keep trying to fix it--get out of the way!  God is waiting until you exhaust all of the options and things that you think you can do. Then He will step in.  All of that figuring out and writing down your bills, put your pen down and let God.  Write on your bills, Jehovah Jireh!  He is our provider, He is our source for everything!  It is the Lord that provides all that we need--already has it prepared for us!  Stop putting other things before God!  We are to have nothing before Him!  In your crisis you run to the phone, why are you not running to the throne?!  Only God can fix it, trust Him, He knows!  Stop calling your friends and fall on your face in prayer!  2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  Set your affections on things that are above!  We put You first God!  We give You our first fruits, getting up early seeking You at 5am.  We once were blind, now we see!   Thank You God for taking the scales off off of our eyes!  Thank You for giving us faith to walk this out!  Thank You for letting us know that our faith will have to stand trial.  Thank You for letting us know that we have to get stuck on the process.  That we are to have unshakable faith and then today to set our affections on things that are above!  We are not worried, we are looking to the hills from which comes our help, our help comes from the Lord!  Thank You God we can see clearly.  We don't have to worry or fret.  Don't be afraid.  Hallelujah God!  Holy Spirit have your way.  Speak to someone today, let them know that we are to set our affections on the things that are above.  We are to have a relationship with God--not just to stop in when we have a problem and run out with barely a thank you before the door slams shut.  This thing ought not be!  We are to fast and pray, seeking Him constantly, daily, continually!  We are to set aside time especially for God, to seek Him and to be in His presence.  God is looking to pour out blessings that there would not be room enough to receive them all.  We won't be prepared or in position to receive if we have not been seeking after Him, looking to be about the Father's business.  Look to God, He gives peace and joy the closer that we draw to Him!  He is drawing nigh to us as we draw nigh to Him.  He is hiding us under the wing of His shadow. We must abide in Him as He abides in us!  We must dwell in the secret place, go into your prayer closet and shut the door.  Pray to God for yourself.  Set your affections on the things that are above!  We come to say to You, Lord not our will but Thy will be done!  Go in and pray for yourself in your prayer closet.  Cry out to Him, that you need more and more of Him!  We are going through so much.  We need Your strength, wisdom , understanding, protection and a mind like Christ. We must be in the word daily to have our minds renewed, we are not to conform to this world, fiveamprayer.  Take a stand and stand on His word!  He said the way is straight and the path is narrow, many do not get in.  We lift up fiveamprayer with one word, set your affections on the things that are above!  Where are your affections?  We lift up prayer requests, have them to set their affections on things that are above.  We need a healing, we can stand on Your word, by His stripes we are healed.  That is the word we are to stand on as we walk this out by faith.  We learned this week that it is a process.  We have to stand believing what God said.  Hallelujah God!  We come to repent, our minds have been all over, we come to set our affections on You and things heavenly! 

We seal this prayer in His precious blood, by His Spirit:   Nevertheless Your will be done.  We have set our affections on the things that are above!

No more worry or fear!  We are not to fret of evildoers!  Who the Son sets free, is free indeed!  Don't worry about it!  Matthew 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.
