We are walking in today: There Is A Witness.
Romans 8:12-18 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. We can believe God in spite of the evidence because the Spirit Himself bears witness for us. There are several related ideas expressed in the book of Romans chapter 8 we read about personal responsibility in bearing of the consciousness if we devote our lives to living them according to the flesh, verses 12-17. We also read of the blessings which belong to those who live according to the Spirit in verse 13. We see that the identifying mark of the sons of God, are those that are lead by the Spirit in, verse 14. We read that there is a witness or testimony given by the Holy Spirit to our spirit that we are children of God in verse 16. Finally, we learn that God's children are heirs of glory. Ok now take a selah moment and say 'evidence'. The Holy Spirit witnesses for us, 1 Corinthians 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. The things that God witnesses to us to know has been revealed by His Spirit. These things have been written down for us to read and understand. Jesus on the night of His betrayal promised His apostles that He would send the Holy Spirit to them. The Spirit would guide them--John 16:7-13. The Spirit would also bring to the apostle's minds clearly and unerringly the things that Jesus had taught them during His personal ministry--John 15:25-26. That would be three years of teaching, but thanks to this promise we can be confident in the words of the new testament are accurate. Believe, in spite of the evidence! Fiveamprayer, we have a witness! It is the Holy Spirit of God that reveals the mind of God to us--1 Corinthians 2:10-13. We need to accept His word which has been written down for us and learn not to exceed or go beyond what has been written--1 Corinthians 4:6. You are gonna know this morning that we got a witness! You are gonna go back and read these scriptures for yourself! Sometimes you gotta search out the scriptures for yourself! Also we have an assurance that we can read and understand the things revealed in the writings of the new testament--Ephesians 3:1-5. Not especially verse 4. and by referring to this when you read you can understand, my insight into the mystery of Christ. The promise that Jesus made to His apostles concerning the giving of the Holy Spirit to them was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost--just over 50 days later. Get these points, the above sited passage shows that the Spirit witness is given in word. The message is from God, they have been written. We can understand the message--1 John 4:6; 2 John 9; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17. This means that the witness of the Holy Spirit is not given in feelings or emotions! You know how we can get, caught up in our feelings and emotions. This means that the witness of the Holy Spirit is not given in feelings or emotions. Not in an overriding of our wills and a force direct influence or control of our hearts; nor in a special sign or not in a intuition. We become children of God, by faith! The Spirit has given the following witness, we have become sons of God through Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourself with Christ--Galatians 3:26-27 The concept of faith and the word are closely related--Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. So according to the Spirit witness, the word must be taught and received--thus producing faith--Romans 10:14-17. Can someone shout, in spite of the evidence, we have a witness!
1 Peter 1:14-16
14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the
former lusts in your ignorance: 15 But as he which hath called you is
holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is
written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. We are holy for He is holy.
Now believing God in spite of the evidence--there is a witness!
Sometimes in your life there will be evidence that is stacked up against
you and the devil is trying to disguise your season. Then the Holy
Spirit comes to bear witness of the goodness of our God!
The Holy Spirit comes to say that there is no condemnation to those that
are in Christ Jesus! He leads us to all truth! Our witness comes to
tell us that we can do all things through Christ which strengthens us!
The Holy Spirit tells us that many are called but few are chosen. The
Holy Spirit bears witness as it leads and comforts us! In God's word it
says that there will come a day that the Spirit of God will fall on all
flesh! I got a witness! I am forgiven! I have a witness, no matter
what I am faced with! The more I hear God's word, it cleans and washes
me. I have a witness that tells me to stand on the word of God when I
get tired. The word of God will renew your mind so we must read it
daily. The Holy Spirit guides us and leads us from glory to glory! I
have a witness! We must speak His words! I Am holy for my God is
holy! I Am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! Believe God in
spite of the evidence. It is revealed to us, no longer a mystery. The
unseen shall be clearly seen. The devil comes to stack up false
evidence against you, he is the accuser of the brethren. By His stripes
we are already healed! Jesus took back the keys and who He set free is
truly free indeed! We have a witness that bears the truth and confirms
God's promises to us! 2 Corinthians 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. Believe
God, fiveamprayer in spite of the worldly evidence! Look to the Holy
Spirit, our witness to the heavenly evidence! We have been promised by
God to inherit--we are called sons of God and co-heirs with
Christ in God's kingdom! We walk by faith and not by sight. Do not be
moved by the disguise that the enemy is sending. Our witness shows up
letting us know that is what it is a disguise, false evidence appearing
real! Keep walking by faith and not by sight! There is still power in
the blood, cry out to God in prayer and cover your requests in the blood
of Jesus! The Holy Spirit bears witness to the word of God. Because
we have this witness, nothing sneaks up on us! He is our Alpha and
Omega! There is nothing too hard for Him! Because of His word and our
faith we can tell the mountains to be moved! We have a witness! We
know that satan is the accuser of the brethren. God's strength is made
perfect in our weakness. Wait on the Lord, the Holy Spirit whispers in
our hearts! Don't be weary in well doing, the Holy Spirit whispers in our hearts!
Hold on don't turn around now, keep pressing in, fiveamprayer! Our
witness makes us stronger, better and wiser. The scales fall off of our
eyes and we come to see things clearly--the Spirit Himself bears
witness to the goodness of God. We can stand still and see the
salvation of the Lord. The witness says, you don't have to fight! We
can expect the unexpected by faith! Ask for the impossible and believe
in spite of the earthly evidence. We can stand on all of these we have a
witness in the Holy Spirit--that the Son of God, Jesus
died just for me--I have a personal savior! Keep walking by faith!
Jesus paid it all! We are to lean not to our own understanding!
Give God the glory and the praise. He will lead and guide you to all
righteousness! He will never leave nor forsake you! Even in your
darkest hour, you are never alone! The witness comes to say, He loves
you, that He gave His only begotten Son who died for you and got up on
the third day with all power of heaven and earth in His hands. Hold on,
God is gonna bless us with what eyes have not seen nor ears heard!
Hold on to His word! I have a witness! It is not by my power or my
might but by His Spirit! The Spirit Himself bears witness! I got a
witness! I Am forgiven! I have a witness that will sit with me and
comfort me. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the
morning! It is darkest just before daybreak. When the flesh is just
saying all kinds of stuff, stand on the word of God. 2 Corinthians 10:5
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself
against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought
to the obedience of Christ. God can open a door that no man can
shut and shut a door that no man can open! We got a witness! His word
does not return void nor can it be reversed! God has not forgotten
about you, the devil is still a liar! No matter what it looks like, God
has not forgot! We must lay aside every weight that so easily besets
us! Keep your mind on God, He keeps you in perfect peace with your mind
stayed on Him! We can do all things through Christ Jesus! Fight this
devil and swing your sword! I have a witness! It is not about me, it
is all about God! You should be overjoyed right now! He gave us
the Comforter--I have a witness! The devil is a deceiver, be careful
don't get caught up with the false prophets, they are already here.
Don't have itchy ears--2 Timothy 4:3 (AMP) For the
time is coming when [people] will not tolerate (endure) sound and
wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching [for something pleasing
and gratifying], they will gather to themselves one teacher after
another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and
to foster the errors they hold. Seek God, and you shall find Him!
The Spirit Himself bears witness. He is Alpha and Omega and knows the
end from the beginning! The Spirit tells us that all things work
together for those that love the Lord. You have a purpose, God placed
purpose on your life! Don't get caught up in your flesh. You got a
witness! God doesn't lie, He is truth and light! All that He has said
shall come to pass just like He said it would. Don't give up on God.
Surely without Him we are certainly lost. There is no other! There are
many false, imitations all lacking in every area--but He alone, is the
Lord God Almighty! Don't give up on Him, He won't give up on you!
Renew your mind! It starts with your mind! What is your mindset on?
The things of God and His business? Or are you focused on what is going
on in your own little world? We must feed ourselves the word of God
that the Holy Spirit can bring scripture to our remembrance. He can't bring back to remembrance that which you have never read or is not already on the inside of you!
We are to workout our own soul salvation in fear and trembling. Get
into the word and find what God wants to tell you. It should not always
be that some one is reading scripture to you. God speaks to us in His
word. Maybe on your way to looking up a scripture, your eye falls on a
scripture that speaks to your situation. That scripture would not have
been revealed to you if you are only listening to others read to you!
God knows but you have to seek Him! We have to walk this out by faith
and seek His presence. We are not to live by bread alone but by every
word that proceeds out of the mouth of God! I got a witness! The Holy
Spirit comes to tell us to hold our peace, the Lord will fight my
battle! The victory is mine! The witness reminds me of who I am. I Am
holy! I Am the definition of righteousness. I Am victorious! The joy
of the Lord is my strength! Hallelujah God! Thank You Holy Spirit!
We can't do nothing without the Spirit of the Lord! Hallelujah and
glory to Your name! Thank You Jesus! We are beyond the veil--I have a
witness who meets me and tells me to take off my shoes, I am standing on
holy ground. The witness bears all truth! He will not put more on us
than we can bear! When temptation comes, God makes a way of escape out
of it for us! Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the Lord delivers out of them all! That is what the witness comes
to tell us, especially when it appears that we are going down. Pay no
mind to that false evidence appearing real--what did God say! Hold to
His word, the same word the witness brings to remembrance to us! Get into God's word, be wrapped
up and tangled up in His word. It is revelation time, and we have a
witness! Stand on the Rock of Ages, all other ground is sinking sand! I
have a witness! God gave us dominion from the very beginning in
Genesis! We have the power to trample all over the enemy. We are made in
God's image and likeliness. He breathed in the breath of life into
us! The witness comes to remind us of this, God's word. That we have
the power of life and death in our tongue. The witness will remind us
that we are held accountable for our words. He will have you to repent
for that thought or word. He will show us in Exodus we have to fight
and with God there is always victory! When Job was under attack, the
enemy had to have permission first. That there is nothing that escapes
God's notice. Then on to Psalms where David shows us that he is a man
after God's own heart. Then on to the new testament showing us this season of grace! Then on to Paul's letters, where he is not boasting in himself--we
find that God's grace is sufficient. He is Alpha and Omega which we
find in the book of Revelation. When you can't call on anyone, the
witness will have you to pray and then to give you what to do! I have a
witness! Rest in that! Walk by faith not by sight! I have a
witness! Get into the scriptures for yourself. Stop waiting for
Wednesday and Sunday for someone to do your Bible study! Philippians 2:12
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence
only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with
fear and trembling. Thank You Lord! We are to worship Him in
spirit and in truth! Thank You God! We must worship, that is why we
were created! We are the righteousness of Christ! We can gather
together to worship Him! My worship is for real! Thank You Holy
Spirit! We have such a rich word in 2013, rich soil! Hold on you ain't
seen nothing yet! Draw nigh to Him and He will draw nigh to you. We
lift up fiveamprayer, let them know that the Spirit Himself bears
witness! That is why we can believe in spite of the evidence. We lift
up prayer requests those known and unknown, we know that by Your stripes
we are already healed! He promised to never leave nor forsake you! He
bears witness, we come to repent, laying ourselves on the alter. We
repent for not listening to the Holy Spirit. We come to repent and for
our flesh to be crucified. That our response is not our will but, Thy
