Men Of Torah Day--Yahweh Gives Man A Suitable Helper

Genesis 2

We are walking in today:  Men Of Torah Day--Yahweh Gives Man A Suitable Helper

Witness suitable throughout the Bible:  H5828 `ezer help, succour, one who helps
Genesis 2:18-21; 2 Kings 10:3;

Gen 2:18-25
18 And the Lord God said, It is not good for the man to be by himself: I will make one like himself as a help to him 19 And from the earth the Lord God made every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and took them to the man to see what names he would give them: and whatever name he gave to any living thing, that was its name. 20 And the man gave names to all cattle and to the birds of the air and to every beast of the field; but Adam had no one like himself as a help. 21 And the Lord God sent a deep sleep on the man, and took one of the bones from his side while he was sleeping, joining up the flesh again in its place: 22 And the bone which the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman, and took her to the man. 23 And the man said, This is now bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh: let her name be Woman because she was taken out of Man. 24 For this cause will a man go away from his father and his mother and be joined to his wife; and they will be one flesh. 25 And the man and his wife were without clothing, and they had no sense of shame.

In all of creation, God declared all good but one thing--that it was not good for man to be alone. Yahweh created woman from the rib of man, not of the dirt from the ground, but from the rib of the first man Adam. To be called a suitable helpmate for everything that Adam, that the woman was the solution for. Yes, I said solution. Now I don't know about anybody else, but a virtuous woman that Yahweh made suitable. This was established from the beginning, with this understanding like a hidden treasure is worth more than any other relationship other than with Yahweh himself.

Proverbs 18:22
Whoever gets a wife gets a good thing, and has the approval of the Lord.

A few examples of virtuous woman, Zipporah Moses' wife. (Love her wisdom so much I named my second daughter after her). Spared the chosen leader from certain death due to the commands of Yahweh. For the men and male children of Israel were to be circumcised as directed in the commands of Yahweh.

Genesis 17:10
And this is the agreement which you are to keep with me, you and your seed after you: every male among you is to undergo circumcision.

Exodus 4:18-31

Abigail no she wasn't David's wife yet, was at that time married to Nabal the foolish. Saved her husband in all his possessions due to his hardened heart towards David and his men. As they came to replenish their strength by needing supplies. Nabal refused to supply David with food, yet Abigail in her wisdom furnishes--David and all his men with all they needed and more. Nabal found out and had a heart attack and died. Abigail the wise, became David's wife for he saw virtue in her as well as beauty.

1 Samuel 25

Proverbs 31:10-31

These are just but a few Biblical references of some of the famous helpmeets.

helper Hebrews Strong's #5828 -Ezar, Helper, help

This word is used throughout the Tanakh--to convey Yahweh's vitally important and powerful acts of rescue and support. The word has two root meanings (to rescue/to save and strength). 21 times is the word ezar used in the Tanakh. 3 times its only used for failing to help.

1. Isaiah 41:6
They gave help everyone to his neighbor; and everyone said to his brother, Take heart!

2. Ezra 10:15
Only Jonathan, the son of Asahel, and Jahzeiah, the son of Tikvah, were against this, Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helping them.

3. Joshua 10:4
Come up to me and give me help, and let us make an attack on Gibeon: for they have made peace with Joshua and the children of Israel.

4. 2 Samuel 8:5
And when the Aramaeans of Damascus came to the help of Hadadezer, king of Zobah, David put to the sword twenty-two thousand of the Aramaeans.

From the scriptures given for example above, we do not once see helper/ezar connected to subservience yet the complete opposite. Moses even named one of his sons Eleazar. Eli= My God: Ezer =Helper "My God is my helper"

Exodus 18:4
And the name of the other was Eliezer, for he said, The God of my father was my help, and kept me safe from the sword of Pharaoh:

So ezer represents Yahweh's character, strength, our rescuer, our protector, and our help. How much more of excitement do we need as a man with this definition in mind? Or do we need in seeking Yahweh to present to us our perfect fit? A mate suitable for our life's work, as partners in Yahweh.

The word kenedgo = suitable. This means it was designed to be a corresponding and equal partner with Adam--joint partners for the commission Yahweh gave them.

Genesis 1:28
And God gave them his blessing and said to them, Be fertile and have increase, and make the earth full and be masters of it; be rulers over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing moving on the earth.

Man, starting with Adam, was not designed to be alone. Yahweh planned for man to have a partner to help subdue and replenish the Earth. They were created in Yahweh's image and likeness. Yet a woman from a man's perspective, was created superbad!!!! Mmm Mmm Mmm. No other creation is more beautiful and full of wisdom and virtue than a woman after Yahweh's heart!

In Genesis 1:24, Ephesians 5:31
The scripture says husband and wife are to live as one. Just as Yeshua love's for His bride the church. The picture is of unity, for husband and wife with the plans Yahweh intended for the life and life more abundant.

My prayers are that Yahweh present to you a bride adorned with His spirit. That man sees through the eyes of Yahweh the intended purpose of a woman a suitable helper given--not to subjugate. But a suitable help in Yahweh's plans for life in abundance in His kingdom!  To hear this again click here.
