Behind Enemy Lines.

Joshua 6:1-6, 27;  Ephesians 2:6-10; Acts 14:22; Ephesians 5:18; Romans 13:11-12; Psalms 23:4; Matthew 11:12; 2 Corinthians 12:9; Romans 8:31

We are walking in today:  Behind Enemy Lines.

Joshua 6:1-6, 27  1) Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in. 2) And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour. 3) And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days. 4) And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. 5) And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him. 6) And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the Lord. 27) So the Lord was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country.  While parachuting is risky, the incoming fire of the enemy of a fortified city raises the danger profile of any mission seeking to get behind enemy lines.  Not only does a paratrooper need to be careful for themselves, the sound of the aircraft would also alert the enemy of their arrival.  HALO stands for high altitude low opening, this type of parachuting technique can be dangerous.  The plane must fly minimally at 25,000 feet and sometimes up to 40,000 feet where it is  undetectable even by radar.  At such high altitudes of the Earth's atmosphere, the oxygen required for human respiration is scarce.  Lack of oxygen can lead to hypothermia.  When it was time to jump, your first instruction was not to open your parachute, you are literally in a free fall and in a matter of seconds, your terminal velocity would be 120 mph although you might hit speeds up to 200 mph.  You open the chute at the last possible minute with only enough time to save your life.  With canopy deployment with roughly 2,000 feet there is just enough time to break your fall so that you land safely into enemy territory.  If you live you get to fight the enemy, I think that is an incredibly dramatic and accurate metaphor for the followers of Christ who are discovering this passage of life.  The journey into the promised land begins at high altitude.  Ephesians 2:6-10 6) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7) That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9) Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.   Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.  The path into the promises of God begins high but followers of Jesus eventually must engage the fight below.  Authentic discipleship is to have given our hearts to the one and only who can make us fully alive, to go where He sends us to live, to go where He sends us to go.  To experience His promises and to fully enter into His kingdom plans and purposes, God has brought the Israelites on a HALO mission.  From the deliverance out of Egypt through the safe passage of the Red Sea and the Jordan River--the miracles of bread, meat and water in the wilderness and the desert, the divine manifestation of God in both cloud and fire.  The Israelites stand before the mighty fortified walls of Jericho and a battle for the city about to ensue. The battle of Jericho, in Joshua 6 begins at the end of Joshua chapter 5.  Joshua and the Spirit of Christ are ready to lead the Israelites forward and to fight for His promises.  He stands with us ready to lead, the land of promise will usually lay behind enemy lines.  You and I will have to find our HALO mission.  We will have to fight and work--what promise is laid, behind the walls of Jericho for you?  What life has God called you to fight for?  What lies behind enemy lines?  An identity in Christ, to live to, personal holiness, maturity in faith, a maturity in your relationships, being built up to withstand the enemy, a friend seeker, a lost family member, a place of freedom in Christ--freedom from our habits, fears, or depression,  some a renewal in your marriage.  You got to know what's behind enemy lines.  Jericho was imposed in a fortified city of pagan worship and ruthless.  Yet Joshua was is a place where he experienced a presence of the Lord and heard the voice of the Lord, shouting the great forces of Jericho.  Joshua had found a place of worshipful communication with the Lord  statically was enough at the a high altitude, then a moment at the bottom, of the imitation challenges it was God's word to Joshua, "see I have given you Jericho into your hand.  With it's kings and mighty men of valor," see it was a word that invited Joshua to see from the perspective of the Spirit.  It was a invitation into the realm of the spiritual it was a message given to encourage it was a message intended not to imitate it was a word that humbled and produced the intended result, Joshua would not fight this battle without a priority of the presence of God.  Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.  The command for all believers is to maintain the priority of continuous replenishment of the spirit's presence.  The Lord also requires a priority of motion, what we might also call readiness.  Joshua 6:3  And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.  So what does the marching accomplish?  Is there a cleaver strategy at work here?  I think it serves two purposes, motion keeps us alert, the children of Israel had already tasted the fruits of the promise land, they had crossed over the Jordan river and stepped out of the wilderness. They had crossed over the borders, yet neither the Lord or Joshua would settle for a plateau of a rival and rest.  Now was the time for motion!   A time for mobilization and readiness.  Get moving, marching, ready yourself for battle!  Goals reached during times of transition must never be taken, nor mistaken for arrival!  Over time it is easy to lose momentum and become frozen, captive to comfort, slave to dependable--locked into a stagnate place.  Know the time, fiveamprayer--the day is at hand.  Romans 13:11-12 11) And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. 12) The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.  The marching serves notice to the enemy.  How many old news reels show the Soviets marching through Moscow or the Nazi's in Hitler's company marching with those ridiculous high kicks?!  It was more than a celebration of an empire--it was intended to encourage.  The march around, Jericho was more than a threat, it was a reminder that the people, marching around that city were people who has passed through the Rea Sea and crossed over the Jordan River, by the hand of God.  That God's promises now lay within their camp.  It was like a boxer measuring his opponent for the next set of punches.  When the church is loving it's community and worshipping it's Savior and serving notice on the enemy!!  That God who has loved us without measure and has delivered us from the power of sin, has an inheritance for us lying within their strongholds and families, strongholds in our hearts and in our community.
I don't know about you but all of my stuff is behind enemy lines.  Go behind those lines to get your stuff back!  God is positioning you!  He is making you better, wiser and stronger.  Be able to march around walls that have been keeping you out for years.  We are coming behind enemy lines--to take back marriages, children, our joy and peace back!  To take back the Spirit of the Lord for our churches!  We have no fear, fiveamprayer!  Psalms 23:4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  God is with us!  That is the one thing that makes a difference for us in every battle we face--God with us!  Emmanuel, thank You God!  Some of our stuff is caught up in the places that you don't want to go.  God has parachuted you into a place that you are not familiar with.  When we start to go through things in our marriages, with our children, in our finances--we get afraid because it is not familiar.  Don't doubt, trust God!  Everything you need is behind enemy lines.  He is giving us power and authority to take it all back!  The devil is under out feet!  All we got to do is take it back!  Go behind enemy lines, take it back!  He is able and had more than we need!  Sometimes your stuff is behind enemy lines, He is more than able to bring us out!  He is leading us behind enemy lines.  We have crossed over that Jordan and walked over the Red Sea that was split, down to dry land.  Fiveamprayer, we have been through some stuff.  Right now we are about to take down the walls of Jericho.  Get up to the sound of the trumpet, sound the alarm!  Matthew 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.  We are behind enemy lines!  Are you suited up for battle?  Are you ready to go?  We are walking by faith and not by sight!  Ready for battle, to fight like never before!  Don't let the enemy take over your mind--hold on to the promises of God!  Hold on to His word!  We are going behind enemy lines.  When we are weak, He is strong!  2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  We are about to walk this thing out!  I don't care what kind of hell is breaking loose--we are with Jesus, going behind enemy lines!  Come on let's go. There are too many lost souls are out there!  Our children are dying.  Go behind enemy lines, get in preparation for the battlefield, are you in position?  Behind enemy lines.  We are gonna have to go into the places that are not comfortable to us.  We are behind enemy lines--unfamiliar lines in our marriages, with our children and in our finances.  Tell the devil, no weapon that is formed against us shall prosper!  God has put a shield around us, we can't be touched!  We are behind enemy lines!  You may not like the place that you are in, walk into your job, you are behind enemy lines!  Before you cross that threshold say no weapon that is formed against me shall prosper--I an behind enemy lines!  Everything around you is falling apart, you are behind enemy lines!  You are so powerful, wonderfully and fearfully made!  He has given us power dynamic in it's working!  (James 5:6, Psalms 139:14)  We are mighty men and women of God, all by the hand of the Lord!  Do you know how dangerous God has made us?!  He has placed us in the enemies camp but the enemy can not touch us!   There you are asking the devil, "what now!?"  All while you are behind enemy lines.  Can you imagine the fight now?  The kingdom of God suffers violence and the violent take it by force.  Take it!  Thank You Lord for the place that we are in!  As we march around the walls of Jericho, You are putting us into position to receive from You.  That we may go to higher levels in You, God.  He is putting us in position for more wisdom and knowledge of Your word.  We got to be put into the fire--remember we are chosen in the fire of affliction.  Sit there, behind enemy lies, the devil can not touch you!  The enemy can't do nothing, he is unarmed!  We have the word of God, say in the name of Jesus and he will start running!  Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?  While you are trying to figure out why me?  God had just parachuted you behind enemy lines!!  That's where He has placed you at--walk it out.  I know that you are tired of being there--walk it out in your life.  It's time to walk it out behind enemy lines.  That is where we are, but we will win!  No devil in hell can stop us!  Can't you hear the ram's horn blowing?  It's victory time!  The walls have fell.  He is gonna do it--in that same place of hurt, tears and pain.  He put you in that place. Trust and believe, keep on fighting!  Not giving up nor turning around.  We walk by faith and not by sight.  Our only focus is on the word of God.  He said sound the alarm, praise His name!  Shout the victory right now!  We are going into battle taking new territory!  The marching around is more than a threat, is is a reminder that the people had crossed over Jordan and the Red Sea, that God's promises lie in their camp.  Thank You Lord right now for every test, trial and tribulation.  For every pain we know that weeping may endure for the night but joy comes in the morning!  This is the day that the Lord had made!  Behind enemy lines.  Magnify the Lord with me!  Great is Thy faithfulness!  Bless His name from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same!   Let us lift his name higher!  That is why we can count it all joy!  We are behind enemy lines.  Everything is falling and touching others but not you--while you are behind enemy lines!  You are still blessed, kept and new things in this time and season!!  What kind of God do we serve, who blesses us behind enemy lines?!  You think that you are going down and God is saying, He is giving you a promotion!  I'm taking you up higher!  God comes to tell us why we have been going through all kinds of hell--you are behind enemy lines!  Hallelujah God!  You can't even be touched and you are in the enemies camp!  Think about it, He is a mighty and awesome God we serve!  In the natural, we are like really God?  We don't know if we can go through another thing, we say we are tired and God tells us, He put us behind enemy lines  because we are getting tired--to build us back up.  We are behind enemy lines  because were are breaking, when we are weak He is strong!  Built up behind enemy lines of Jericho.  What is your walls of Jericho?  Is it your marriage, your children, your finances or even your self?  Sometimes it is us that is in the way.  So God can pull down those walls of Jericho, this weekend march around your house 7 times--whatever your wall of Jericho is, it is coming down!  It is coming down!  Before you march call out what your wall of Jericho is.  For some of us it may be our marriage, then start walking around your house.  That I serve a God of reconciliation, that a praying wife can save her husband.  That God is a maker of a way out of no way!  He can do the impossible that nothing is too hard for Him!  Fiveamprayer we are behind enemy lines!  What is your wall of Jericho?  We are getting instructions right now on how to tear it down!  The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord!  Soldiers line up and get your orders!  Glory to Your name!  Let the scales fall off of our eyes!  Now can you see clearly now!?  The walls are coming down!  Thank You God!  We lift up fiveamprayer in the name of Jesus!  There are so many walls of Jericho that are coming down!  Whatever that is, God let them trust You and be obedient to Your directions.  Have them to believe that it is over, that it is finished.  We lift up prayer requests, let those walls of Jericho fall.  Whatever their walls are.  You said for us to seek You in constant prayer and supplication, You know that there are those that are in need of healing, and that You would heal them!  They have got to believe it!  Take 7 steps, the number 7 is the number of completion and say by His stripes I am healed!  We repent for the Jericho wall of unforgiveness. When we don't forgive, You won't forgive us.  Teach us how to truly forgive, to let go and let God.  Tear down that wall of Jericho.  Thank You for forgiving us and casting our sins into the sea. Thank You Lord for all that you do for each one of us!  Sometimes we are in our own way, we are to lean not to our own understanding!  Lord have us be moved out of the way, that we are not the wall of Jericho in our lives keeping ourselves behind enemy lines.  Thank You Lord for keeping us even when we don't want to be kept.  With You, Lord we win every time!  The walls of Jericho are coming down!  Can't you see it?!  The walls are coming down, covered in the blood and the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, amen, amen!

We seal this prayer in His precious blood, by His Spirit:
We are marching around our wall of Jericho seven times, in expectation that it will fall down, in the name of Jesus!

Welcome to the overflow...
