Opposition to God's Call, Ridicule.

Nehemiah 4:14, 4:1, 4:7-8, 6:6; Hebrews 10:23; Nehemiah 4:6, 6:15, 8:10; Genesis 3:4; Deuteronomy 10:20-21; Philippians 2:12-13; 1 Chronicles 4:10; 2 Timothy 1:7; John 16:33, 6:68; Matthew 5:44; Luke 15:4

We are walking in today:  Opposition to God's Call, Ridicule.

Nehemiah 4:14 And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the LORD, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.  All truth passes through three stages, ridicule, violently oppressed and accepted self evident.  On yesterday, God came with a word, 'what truth are you walking in?'  Fiveamprayer we are walking in the truth of what God said, now get ready for ridicule.   Be encouraged, our God will fight for us!!  Nehemiah felt the call of God, to leave the comfortable life of a cupbearer to the king, to rebuild the broken walls of Jerusalem.  Going out with the kings blessing, he set out to do a seemly difficult task, not of his own, but a task of God.  Nehemiah needed the peoples support to catch the vision, and once on board they began to work together on this God given task--it was a ministry.  That is how they got the inner resources to stand and keep working.  In the midst of obstacles, ridicule, threats of physical attack, discouragement, extortion, compromise, treachery and slander--the people continued to build the wall.  Nehemiah 4:1 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews.  Have you ever experienced trying to carry out God's word amidst the ridicule that you lack the resources to do what you were attempting?!  Or that the ability or plan required some times lead to confusion due to a to lack of understanding of a certain detail?  Nehemiah 4:7-8  7) But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, 8) And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.  Have you ever experienced physical or verbal attack due to continuing in the ministry that God has called you to?  Nehemiah 6:6 Wherein was written, It is reported among the heathen, and Gashmu saith it, that thou and the Jews think to rebel: for which cause thou buildest the wall, that thou mayest be their king, according to these words.  You may experience slander while attempting to carry out the call of God on your life.  It can be very painful when a trusted person, some one that is close to you would question your character or your motivation--that is a tough thing to face.  Your response must be that I will continue in what God has called me to do.  No matter what--continue on in your assignment.  He is calling us to be faithful, just as He  is faithful--Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)Nehemiah 6:16 And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God.  This passage indicates that not only Nehemiah and those working with him are aware that God was working His purpose through them, but even their enemies perceived that this work was wrought by God!!  If our heart is right with God working in fellowship with Him and others who also have a mind to work in the vision given by God, there is no other outcome but success!  Nehemiah 4:6 So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to workNehemiah 6:15 So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.  We must persevere.  To continue on in the assignment and follow it to completion--no matter the obstacle or hardship that we face.  We are able to persevere because we are walking in the truth of God.  Nehemiah 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.  Hold on fiveamprayer, as you walk in the truth of God there will be ridicule!!
There will be ridicule for doing the ministry that God gave you.  Taking a stand on His word in your marriage, with your children, and on your job.  When you are tired we can find strength in the joy of the Lord!  Keep pressing and pushing into God.  Since He is for us who or what can stand against us?!  We know that the race is not given to the swift but to he that endures until the end.  Will you endure, fiveamprayer?!   We shall reap the harvest if we faint not.  There are people in the church, our parents and children that need to see you walking in God's word.  Are you gonna stand on what He said?  The doubt in your mind, comes from statements from the devil.  Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die
.  Be careful of those seemingly innocent statements that come to cast doubt.  Hold to what God said.  Let His word take root in your spirit and hold on to it!!  Guard your mind from the tricks of the devil.  We serve a God that changes not, the same yesterday, today and forever more!  Keep on praising Him!  Seeking Him in His word.  Give Him all the glory!  No matter what happens, keep standing on His word, the word that He dropped into your spirit, regarding your assignment and purpose.  Will you truly trust Him?  Some times it is the closest to you that come in with ridicule and mocking.  To walk in the truth of God, you will be ridiculed.  Keep on building up the kingdom, walking in the word that God gave you.  Leave everything that you have, and follow Him.  Many are the afflictions of the righteous and the Lord delivers them out of them all.  Why don't you have to suffer?  A man who knew no sin, suffered for us, when will it be your turn?  Stand on the truth that God has given you.  God is showing us through Nehemiah that we have to keep doing what God told us to do.  He gave that task to you, not any one else.  Hold on and stand on His word!!  Who is man, that you are fearful of him?!  Deuteronomy 10:20-21 20) Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name. 21) He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.  The enemy is trying to get you off track.  It is the devil who is the author of confusion, the father of all lies.  Some times someone will come along side you to question what God told you to do.  Stand and hold to His word--it never fails!  Hallelujah God!!  He brings us into all truth and understanding!!  This morning He is sharing with us that truth goes through 3 stages.  Without opposition then you are not doing what God has asked of you.  Do you think that the devil would want for the Lord's plans to succeed?  The devil is against God and His word.  Why wouldn't he come against the work that God has for you to do?  Though we may be ridiculed and oppressed we are set free by Christ!  With this understanding of what we will experience walking in His truth, we know that we have to keep a steady hold to His word and unchanging hand.  Read the book of Nehemiah, for yourself.  The joy of the Lord is our strength!  Keep on doing what God told you to do.  Keep walking in it.  The calling is on your life, not theirs.  We all have our assignments and are accountable for what we are told to do.  Listen and follow the word, no matter what!!  God's word is true!  Thank You Lord for exposing what happens when we truly walk in obedience of Your truth.  Ridicule will come.  Stand on the word.  We come to lift up prayer requests, those known and unknown.  We lift up Nate`'s dad for healing.  We know that by His stripes he was healed.  We lift up Stephanie's father for healing, we are standing on Your word that You are Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals.  Thank You Lord for showing up mighty in each of these lives!  We are looking to others for encouragement.  Forgive us Lord for not trusting You completely.  Following where Your word leads.  Forgive us for doubting the way that You would have us to go.  We have to each work out our own salvation. Philippians 2:12-13(AMP) 12) Therefore, my dear ones, as you have always obeyed [my suggestions], so now, not only [with the enthusiasm you would show] in my presence but much more because I am absent, work out (cultivate, carry out to the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling (self-distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ). 13) [Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.  Thank You for forgiving us with no condemnation and casting our sins away to be remembered no more!!  Teach us how to forgive others, so that we too can be forgiven.  Thank You Lord!

We seal this prayer in His precious blood:  1 Chronicles 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

Welcome to the overflow...
Jabez surely suffered ridicule, look at what his name meant:  sorrow, trouble.  His own mother named him, Jabez because he was borne in sorrow.  He called on the God of Israel and stood on His word.  God is for you, who can stand against you?!  God is calling you.  Ridicule:  it is in the book of Nehemiah, hold to the word.  Keep building up the kingdom of God: sowing in a time of famine, tithes and offerings.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.  The assignment has not been given to them, it was given to you.  Ridicule hurts, you want them to understand, for them to get it, just make sure that you stay lined up with His word.  Will you stand?!  Call on Him, He is the only way out.  God wants to see what you are made of?  Will you hold to His word?  Who is on the Lord's side?  No test, no testimony!  Are you gonna just cut out and run now?!  There isn't anything in the world that you can go run back to--John 6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.  Fiveamprayer, take a stand for God.  It is the Lord that lifts you up, not mom, dad, brothers or sisters.  The Lord shall lift me up!!   Hallelujah God!  Thank You Lord.  Christ suffered, why would you think that you would not have to suffer anything?  Trust what God said.  Hallelujah!  Our answer is still yes Lord!  Thank You God!  It isn’t easy to walk in Your truth, we are to lean not to our own understanding.  He is directing our path, fiveamprayer!!  Make your haters your motivators!  They are looking with their natural eyes not spiritual eyes.  They will get it, if they keep walking with you, because you will keep giving them the truth!  The Bible says in Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.  The Lord wants not any of us to be lost, Luke 15:4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?  Didn't someone come looking after you?  Why would He not want all of His children to be with Him, and out of the wilderness? All to the Lord, do we owe!!   Christ paid it all!!  We don’t owe anyone else.  We must worship Him in spirit in and in truth.  It is not gonna be easy but God will bring us out!!   Thank You God!!  Feel His peaceful presence on the line this morning.  Do what He told you to do—opposition to God’s call, ridicule.  You are in the right place, doing what He called you to do.  The joy of the Lord is our strength.  I get joy when I think about what He’s done for me!!  You are the Truth, God!  Stand on it!  Take time to read the scriptures for yourself today and visit us on facebook.  Have a blessed day!
