Have We Been Following After Baalim?

1 Kings 18; Numbers 25:3; Judges 8:33; 1 Corinthians 10:22; 2 Peter 2:21

We are walking in today:  Have We Been Following After Baalim?

Witness faith of Jesus Christ throughout the Bible:  the word faith in Hebrew is emunah which is an action word, obedience.  Yeshua came and walked on the earth in obedience to all of the Torah.  It is His faithfulness in which we rely.
Romans 3:22; Galatians 2:16, 2:22

Fiveamprayer we have to find who we have been following.  The children of Israel were following the pagan gods and in this chapter 1 Kings 18, Elijah as Yahweh directs shows himself to Ahab and that He will send the rain.  He is even accused as the one who his troubling Israel.  Take a look at your life are you being accused of causing trouble?  What is it that Yahweh has given you to do?  This is not the time to waiver!  When we know what it true we can really stand!  This is why study is so important!!  How else can you stand? Will you be like the Bereans study to see if what you are being taught it true?  Or have we determined to follow after baalim?  That which is an idol god or pagan god?  Then as Elijah set forth the challenge to find who is to be worshiped baal or Yahweh?  Here Elijah stands in the truth on the Davar Elohim against the 850 of the false prophets, to find who would an answer by fire.  The false prophets of baalim and ashereh made their request for hours even becoming desperate to cut on themselves to get a response.  Then at the time of the evening sacrifice, Elijah comes and prepares the altar, arranges the wood and places the sacrifice upon it.  He also dug a trough and had the water placed over it  three times.  When he prayed and called out to Yahweh, the Living God who answered by fire--consuming the water, the bullock, wood and stones in response.  This awesome response had the people fall on their faces in repentance before Him.
Fiveamprayer, we are to follow the Torah--this is the way we are to come before the righteous and holy Yahweh.  This also gives us how we are to approach each other which are made in His image.  If we are not obedient in the small things, how can we be trusted in the bigger assignments?  We are to be decided, not continually deciding!  We are not to waiver nor be in doubt--halt no more between two opinions!  Stand fast to what we have been given, the Torah.  We must totally set down our Greek mindset and return to the Hebraic mindset which authored the Bible and the audience they were seeking to reach.  This wavering can cost us our lives!  While still physically dead, but separated from Yahweh is certainly a level of death--spiritually.  We have to choose which we will serve life or death?  Who are we serving Yahweh or something else?  Fiveamprayer, let us not look back, Lot's wife looked back and became a pillar of salt.  We have to understand that the pagan gods have no answer for us, no matter how much we cry, jump and shout or even resort to cutting ourselves.  That which has no speech can not reply, that with no power can not cause action and that which has no substance can be revered!  We must cease from confusion--stand on the entirety of His word!
1 Corinthians 14:33  (CJB) 33 for God is not a God of unruliness but of shalom. As in all the congregations of God’s people,
Isaiah 55:11 (KJV) So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
