The Principles of Preparation

Genesis 2

We are walking in today:  The Principles of Preparation

Teaching from the book:  The Principles Of The Protege:  Discover The Pathway To Success, by Dr. Francisco I. Victa III

Witness preparation throughout the Bible:  H4633 ma`arak arrangement, plan, preparation
Proverbs 16:1-3

Unfortunately, in today's time we live in a culture of individuals and very few protege. It is so easy for one to be on their own, in this me centered society. Social media, texting, and email give the illusion of the most socially connected society ever, yet belies the shallowness of our relationships reflected grand illusions of self. Creating a void in the knowledge passed down through mentorship. No submission, respect and honor--just the unending hamster wheel of the me, myself and I mentality.

Just as Adam, the first man disconnected from Yahweh and His ordained Authority as ruler of all the Earth. Adam's disobedience to the tutelage of Yahweh (mentor). Caused him to abort his rulership but never his salvation. Man was created to be mentored by the Most High. The words spoken to man, shows the plans Yahweh had to advance Adam (mankind) into mentors from protege--that's promoting responsibility and authority.

1. Make: to advance, accomplish and appoint.

The first responsibility which was just the beginning and not their destiny for Adam and Eve,was the garden. The principals talk to them in taking care of all that dwelled there in. Their faithfulness would be the stepping-stone for their promotion. Teaching the world, mentoring more protégées after the principles of Yahweh.

Proverbs 28:20
A trustworthy person will receive many blessings, but one rushing to get rich will not go unpunished. - KJV

2. Image: shade, phantom, and resemblance

The goal of the mentor is to make a man and woman who would resemble the mentor. Faithfulness brings promotion in steadfastness. I would rather employ and have a faithful companion, than a fly-by-night individual that cannot be faithful. Yahweh looks for faithful and the little. So that the promotion goes to the much, greater.

Ephesians 3:20
Now to him who by his power working in us is able to do far beyond anything we can ask or imagine, -KJV

In this case, the duplication process is an merited necessity. Adam wouldn't have dominion over the Earth,if he was not a duplicate of Yahweh's Mentorship. Abiding under the shadow of the Almighty.

3. Likeness: resemblance, shape, a concrete model

Yahweh designed Adam to be a replica of all Yahweh is.

Genesis 1: 26
Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, in the likeness of ourselves; and let them rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the animals, and over all the earth, and over every crawling creature that crawls on the earth.” -KJV

John 14:9
Yeshua replied to him, “Have I been with you so long without your knowing me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? - KJV

This is the same process we should walk in--the patterning to become the image and likeness of our Yahweh or mentors. Duplication and likeness are the goal of a mentor and protégé is to receive.

Matthew 10:25
It is enough for a talmid that he become like his rabbi, and a slave like his master. Now if people have called the head of the house Ba‘al-Zibbul, how much more will they malign the members of his household! -KJV

Education alone divorces the learner from a relationship that is not rooted in Yahweh's plans for mentorship. Yahweh desires a relationship as a plan and means to instruct. Yahweh walked with Adam in the cool of the day. The Hebrew day is sunset to sunset versus the Greek or Roman day, midnight to midnight. Their walks in the garden of Eden, consisted of instructions for the new day and reflections on the day at hand.  This  is intimacy in a relationship of mentor with the protege walking together. As Noah and Enoch also walked with Yahweh, they commune with Yahweh under His shadow. Becoming more in His image and likeness because of their connection and preparation of process--from protege to mentor.

Relationships are of key importance when being mentored as a protégé. If there is no relationship involved the respect of listening becomes void. Yet in true relationships, we love and value--we are attentive.

Lessons for the prepared protege:

1. Listen to one dominant voice in your life.

Genesis 3:8
They heard the voice of Adonai, God, walking in the garden at the time of the evening breeze, so the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of Adonai, God, among the trees in the garden. - KJV

The most dominant voice for the protégé should be the Ruach HaKodesh. First and foremost leading to the distinguished truth. Adam had too many voices in his head, the voice of his wife Eve, who in turn had the serpent's voice in her ear. They each had each other's voices as well as Yahweh's. As you can see a protégé must tune into Yahweh's voice and hear Him speak clearly in anything or situation.

2. Understand that relationship could be strengthened by rituals
Repetitiveness in interactions are the rule of thumb in building habitual Godly relationships. Every morning Adam and Eve walked with Yahweh. They valued their mentors time.

3. Be prepared to walk in a long-term relationship. Yahweh established relationships to be built on from the beginning. Built up as consistent time in the mentor/protege relationship. The value of the time of your mentor.

4. The mentors presence is designed to bring out the best in you. Mentors encourage, motivate, challenges and elevate protege's to a higher level. Hiding from the mentor isolates the potential to grow and be stretched.

5. Healthy relationships are designed to protect you from evil. A mentor has been there before and comes to share this knowledge and experiences with the willing student that is tried-and-true. Yet, in our ignornce or eagerness we tend to forget that. Mentors start off as protégées and have had awesome mentors, that caused them as protégées to learn and grow from the instructions given. Yahweh's mentorship is mentors who teach, instructs and cultivates a daily relationship--that causes you to emulate them. Whether bad or good.,being under someone's shadow could bring honor or shame. I'd rather follow after my heavenly Father's shadow or His appointed Mentor--than anyone else's shadow.
