What Constitutes Sound Doctrine? part 1

Titus 2

We are walking in today:  What Constitutes Sound Doctrine? part 1

Witness doctrine throughout the Bible:  H3948 leqach learning, teaching, insight, instruction (obj), teaching (thing taught), teaching-power
Deuteronomy 32:2; Isaiah 28:29, 29:24; Job 11:4; Proverbs 4:2; 2 Timothy 4:3

Titus 2:1
But you, explain what kind of behavior goes along with sound teaching. -CJB

sound doctrine hebraically--sound defined as conforming to Yahweh's biblical truth to teach according to His original plan, His thoughts of His mind. Our faith is centered on a specific message and we are to live our lives on the immovable rock of His teaching.  His word is a sacred trust--we dare not tamper with His word, we are the carriers of His word, not His editor!  Contend for the faith for which we have received as the patter of sound teaching and faith in Yeshua sound doctrine curbs corrupt conduct!  We must be able to distinguish truth from falsehood!

Four characteristics of sound Doctrine.

1. Integrity
2. Reverence
3. Incorruptibility
4. Sound speech that can not be condemned.

Strongs Greek #90 (adiaphthoria) = incorruptible, soundness,integrity.
Derived from (phthrerio) #5351 = to corrupt, to destroy
Thus, the integrity were talking about means that which prevents corruption or destruction.

By the slightest damage or defilement, the Jews believe, anything done in this manner towards the temple period costs its integrity to be damaged or considered corrupted.

2 Chronicles 26:16-20
But when he was strong, he became arrogant, which caused him to become corrupt, so that he sinned against Adonai his God by going into the temple of Adonai to burn incense on the incense altar. ‘Azaryahu the cohen went in after him, and with him were eighty of Adonai’s cohanim, brave men. They stood up to ‘Uziyahu the king; they told him, “It isn’t your job, ‘Uziyahu, to burn incense to Adonai! The job of burning incense belongs to the cohanim, the descendants of Aharon, who have been consecrated. Get out of the sanctuary! You have trespassed, and Adonai, God, will not honor you for this.” This made ‘Uziyahu angry as he stood there with a censer in his hand ready to burn incense; and in his anger at the cohanim, tzara‘at broke out on his forehead right in front of the cohanim in the house of Adonai beside the altar for incense. ‘Azaryahu the chief cohen and all the cohanim stared at him — there he was, with tzara‘at on his forehead! Quickly they threw him out of there; and indeed, he himself hurried to get out, because Adonai had struck him. - CJB

Uzziah as King thought in his arrogance to pollute the temple acting out of order and abuse of authority. Stay in your lane!!! The office of the king and the office of a priest two different offices! A king trying to do that which was not for him to do. Yet, in further passages Yahweh causes those who follow His teachings and instructions--priests and kings under the order of Melchizedek. Not on this day however, Uzziah was out of order and further to the point, Yahweh put His stamp of disapproval on his forehead. Yes, Uzziah you have leprosy on your forehead--"talk about stinking thinking"!  Further defilement from this disobedience that, as the king was cast out of the temple. The priest of the temple did not only confront the king for lighting the incense but removed the king that the judgement of Yahweh on his forhead to dishonor the temple!  He was not permitted to linger and corrupt the temple. Having no integrity, king Uzziah caused corruption of his soul and almost the temple.  Corruption of the soul due to the lack of integrity towards the Holy One. Yep, that'll preach or teach rather.

For a Doctrine to have integrity it must not be contaminated with man's interpretations. Directed strictly by the word of Yahweh who is incorruptible. Speaking of men's interpretations, let's look at integrity's definition:

Integritas (latin) complete, whole, entire, intact
The interest not part of, but entire.

Doctrine FiveAMPrayer must be whole--it must have integrity. It must be complete, entire and intact. Doctrine must agree and line up with the entire chapter of scripture, not just verses or sections. This means that the selection can not disagree with portions of the same chapter or even chapters agree with each other. Everything is intact, whole and complete--no longer cherry picking the holy text to prove erroneous points that are foreign to His thoughts and plans we have Jeremiah alone how the things the children of Israel were doing thing that never entered the mind of Yahweh for them to do!

Jeremiah 32:35
They built high places for Baal in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to sacrifice their sons and daughters to Molek, though I never commanded--nor did it enter my mind--that they should do such a detestable thing and so make Judah sin.

As a child, we used to play this game where we stood in a huge circle and a sentence was passed around. One by one the sentence would get passed around to each individual until it reaches the end the very last person. At the last person would be questioned as to what they heard. Funny how at the end how the message would be totally changed.  A perfect illustration of sound doctrine, are the teaching from scripture, lived out by Yeshua and taught correctly to the apostles rightly been passed around to each believer?  For the integrity of His word upheld in our current teachings or even throughout history of the church?  Have all the believers of the whole word of Yahweh all operating in the same doctrine that is whole and complete, unaltered or marred by the hands of mere man? By having the translations distorted as the message goes throughout the body of God and not having biblical integrity and trusting solely in the council of Yahweh, leads us to our present state--thirsting for His living water!
