We are walking in today: The Law of Measure for Measure!!!!
Witness balance measure throughout the Bible: H3976 mo'zen meaning scales, balances & H7991 shaliysh refers to third part, name of a measure, a musical instrument, maybe three-stringed, triangular shape, or three-barred, perhaps a sistrum or triangle, shield carrier, adjutant, officer, captain
Leviticus 19:36; Isaiah 40:12; Ezekiel 45:10
Leviticus 19:33-37
33 “‘If a foreigner stays with you in your land, do not do him wrong. 34 Rather, treat the foreigner staying with you like the native-born among you — you are to love him as yourself, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt; I am Adonai your God. 35 “‘Don’t be dishonest when measuring length, weight or capacity. 36 Rather, use an honest balance-scale, honest weights, an honest bushel dry-measure and an honest gallon liquid-measure; I am Adonai your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt. 37 Observe all my regulations and rulings, and do them; I am Adonai.
Do not be deceived Yahweh is not mocked a man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction. The one who sows to please the Spirit, spirit will reap eternal life. Galatians 6:7-8
There is an ancient Hebrew saying amongst the rabbis that say " By the measure that a man measures, they measure him" pronounced (Midah Keneged Midah)
We are learning to stand on Yahweh’s 613 principles extending from the ten commandments has the laws (teachings and instructions), for Kingdom citizens lifestyle living. This system has to be taught and walked out, emunah (faith) Hebrarically means action--mobility not just stagnation and believing, when it comes to the principles. The principles have the power within themselves to financially, physically, and spiritually prosper you when accurately applied the situations in your life. As in the physical, Rabbi taught this Sabbath how important it is to stand on Yahweh's laws. For example, as you see the momentum of a plane take flight. It accelerates on the ground up to or past the speed of 150 miles per hour. Eventually, the law of gravity has to release the boundaries of flight, the law of lift takes over. The causes the law of gravity to yield to the law of lift due to the speed and aerodynamics taking over. Everything is governed by laws--whether you like it or not. In the Kingdom of Yahweh, there is no debate whether you like it or not He is sovereign.
The law measure for measure can clearly be seen in the biblical passages. Revealing the operation of the Kingdom's ordinances. As an example, Jacob disguises himself from his brother and acquired his birthright. In turn later, he was tricked into marrying Leah first instead of his beloved Rachel.
Genesis 29:23-25
23 And it came to pass in the evening, that he took Leah his daughter, and brought her to him; and he went in unto her. 24 And Laban gave unto his daughter Leah Zilpah his maid for an handmaid. 25 And it came to pass, that in the morning, behold, it was Leah: and he said to Laban, What is this thou hast done unto me? did not I serve with thee for Rachel? wherefore then hast thou beguiled me?
Haman the hater, was bent on Mordecai not showing him honor and built a gallows for Mordecai. Only to have himself hung from the same gallows he built for Mordecai. Kind of like in life with following Yahweh there is a Poetic Justice to the actions we take against the law and for it.
Esther 5:9,14 6:11,7:10
9 Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king's gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai.
14 Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman, and he caused the gallows to be made.
6:11
11 Then took Haman the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and brought him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honor.
7:10
10 So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.
Yet also in the merciful Kingdom of Yahweh, he is sovereign and so just. His love and understanding has no limits and cannot be compared to our finite thoughts.
Isaiah 55:9
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As in the case of Midah Keneged Midah on judging other people's sufferings. When you see someone of faith all of a sudden start going through tragedies. Suffering great loss and devastation. Such as my favorite overcomer story Job. His friends accused him falsely. Who could be called super religious and fasted and prayed at the appointed times. He lived a sinless life perfect in the sight of Yahweh. Yet Yahweh’s plans was not to destroy Job for being evil, but to test and prove him. Job came out more blessed than he was at first. So we cannot declare "measure for measure" on Job's situation.
Job 1:1
1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.
Proverbs 21:13
13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.
Matthew 5:45-48
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye, therefore, perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Even another way of looking at a measure for measure is the mercy factor. We all have fallen short of the standards and principles of Yahweh. What about when you are blatantly being mistreated? Members of the body of Yeshua, fight over things that only the sovereignty of Yahweh has the right to judge and separate. Men following words of man over Yahweh and throwing out His teachings and instructions. Causing great risk and hatred among the brethren. Forgetting how the world has cheated us for believing in Yahweh and not serving the 365 other gods of this world. But even still not treating the world or our brothers and with the evil and cruel ways we were treated. We must walk in the full power of the Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh). With love and forgiveness because we have hurt, hated and sinned. (missed the mark)... but are forgiven I would hate to be treated the way I treated people before I excepted Yeshuah. Let alone knowing Christ and still treating people ugly!!!!
Last illustration of measure for measure. The sister of Moses, Miriam who watches him being placed in a basket and watched him go down the Nile. She watched over him and waited for him to be picked up by Pharaoh's daughter. Even offered pharoah's daughter to find a nurse for the man-child. Later on in life, Miriam had a disagreement with the choice of Moses his wife, an Ethiopian woman. Yahweh cursed Miriam with leprosy. As the custom under the Hebraic tradition, she was to stay outside the camp, separate from the people until she was healed. The children of Israel, Moses and Yahweh all waited for Miriam to come back to the camp before moving on in the wilderness journey. Just as Miriam waited for Moses while he was placed in the Nile in the basket, where Pharaoh's daughter found him.
