Weekend Meditation--30 Day Tongue Fast--The Boasting Tongue Day 7

Proverbs 27

We are walking in today:  Weekend Meditation--30 Day Tongue Fast--The Boasting Tongue Day 7

Teaching from the book:  30 Days to Taming Your Tongue by Deborah Smith Pegues

Witness boast throughout the Bible:   H1984 halal spelled hey, lamed, lamed-- to be boastful, to boast, glory, make one's boast

Ezekiel 35:13 Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.
Torah:
Prophets:
Writings: Psalm 10:3, 49:6, 52:1, 97:7; Proverbs 20:14, 25:14, 27:1

Isaiah 10:15 Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood.

Proverbs 27:2 Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.

The journey the Most High has for you is amazing and full of achievements and returning the lost to Him. We are to humble yourselves to know the God who created the air you breathe cares more for you than the air. Takes care of your every need according to your obedience to Him and Him alone. The talents abilities achievements are all because of the love He gave to you as a loving father to push you to his image and likeness and that’s successful in all that you do in Excellency. As He is excellent in all that He does. Boast not of the gifts you have for just as hard as they came. It’s very easy to lose it all in the blink of an eye.

We must learn to consciously take the backseat when pride screams for the front row. Study the fate of proud men in the Bible. Meditate on Scriptures that deal with humility and pride.

1 Corinthians 4:7
Who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?

Whatever skills or talents God has given to you, they are for His glory. Learn to take praise in stride. If your popularity increases, don’t be intoxicated by the accolades. Remember that praise is like perfume. If you consume it, it will kill you!

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION:  l Corinthians 15:10 “By the grace of God, I am what I am”
