Honor God through actions, Not Just Words.

1 Kings 5:5-7; 2 Samuel 7:13; 1 Kings 8:27; 1 Kings 6:12-13; 1 Kings 6:14-38; 1 Kings 7:13-50; 1 Kings 7:51; Proverbs 3:9; Psalm 111:9; Hebrews 11:6; Matthew 6:33; Revelation 3:7; Psalms 23:4; 2 Chronicles 31:5; Proverbs 24:16; 1 Chronicles 4:10; James 2:18; Ecclesiastes 9:11

We are walking in today: Honor God through actions, Not Just Words.

1 Kings 5:5-7 5) And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name. 6) Now therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the Sidonians. 7) And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, which hath given unto David a wise son over this great people. Actions speak louder than words. If we desire to honor the Lord in our life, then that desire will be expressed best when given concrete action--when we do something to honor Him. Honor is defined as to hold up as worthy of the highest esteem and reverence. We must be determined to honor the Lord. A practical first step in honoring the Lord must include a decision: the Lord is worthy of worship, praise and honor. The young king Solomon published his decision to honor the Lord through a specific action in a letter to Hiram, King Tyre: I intended therefore, to build a temple for the Name of the Lord my God (1 Kings 5:5). Here perhaps "Name" speaks of the personal God who has revealed Himself and demonstrated His character to Israel. God had promised to establish the house and Kingdom of David, and his son-- Solomon--would build a house for My name. 2 Samuel 7:13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. We must understand how to honor the Lord. Even as the decision to honor God has been made, remember that massive stones and imported timbers in and of themselves will never bring honor to the Lord as He intends and deserves. Indeed, two matters central to Solomon's actions are also critical for us as we determine the direction of our honor for the Lord. First, God did not need a house to honor Him. Solomon confessed the inadequacy of this grand construction project in his prayer of dedication for the temple: in 1 Kings 8:27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded? Even in Solomon's own assessment, his actions were admirable, but not adequate. Second, the honor God deserves, flows from and is directed by a heart devoted and obedient to the Lord. 1 Kings 6:12-13 12) Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father: 13) And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel. Our challenge is to to remember that a heart thriving in a personal relationship with our magnificent Savior will produce actions honoring God--but that order cannot be reversed. Common sense tells us sweet, fresh water naturally flows from a spring, just because you've found water, however, doesn't mean that it is sweet--it might be a cesspool!!! As honoring God requires a decision to do so and appropriate direction to take, so it must result in a determination to act. In the midst of a thriving personal relationship with the Lord, Solomon acted on his desire to honor God. 1 Kings 6:14-38 This section of the text, offers a concise summary of the seven-year building project Solomon undertook to complete the temple, and 1 Kings 7:13-50 These are the details of the furnishings crafted to serve in the active worship of God in the temple. In addition, Solomon honored the Lord with personal gifts from the kings storehouse of treasure--1 Kings 7:51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the LORD. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the LORD. The wise King demonstrated a generous spirit in his actions as Proverbs 3:9 reminds us, honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase. Give Him Honor!!!! Amen.
You have got to be determined to honor Him. No matter what is going on in your life. No matter what you are going through. Honor Him. Give Him your first--words, honor, and praise. Thank You, Lord You never fail. It is He that has woken you up this morning with brand new mercies in His grace! Honor Him!! Revere Him! Psalm 111:9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name. Fiveamprayer, the Lord has sent redemption to us with a covenant forever, what other response can we have?! Reverence is defined as honor or respect felt or shown; deference; especially profound adoring awed respect. We are certainly in awe of the Lord. How He will never leave nor forsake us; makes the crooked places straight; gives us His word that is held above His name. We praise You, Your name is Excellent in all the earth! He is the way out of no way. He keeps on blessing us with His word. He gives us peace that surpasses all understanding. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Let the world know that we honor Him in this season of abundance. The abundance we are experiencing is His increase, overflow and overplus of His word. The Lord blesses us so that it is above what we could ask or think. Wisdom, understanding and knowledge. Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Fiveamprayer, gives honor to the Lord in this season of abundance. Revelation 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth. He has not given us the spirit of fear, but a spirit of love and a sound mind, honor Him! Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. We shall honor the Lord, our God. He has promised to never leave nor forsake us! 2 Chronicles 31:5 And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly. Fiveamprayer, we honor God with our first fruits. To God be the glory! Let us follow in the example of Solomon and send up Judah and honor like never before! We know that we are not sufficient in ourselves, but all sufficiency lies in You, Lord. We want more and more of You and less and less of us. God has anointed fiveamprayer, we give honor where honor is due. Think about your relationship with God. He is the Way, your joy, your peace, Jehovah Jireh, Emmanuel. All the things that God has done for Israel, He is doing for us! We give honor to Your works. You have given us the power to move mountains with Your words and our faith. Give Him honor! He has given us the power to speak life and death, in our tongues. We serve a God of the suddenly. He is our All in All, our All and Never, Mary's little baby. We have got to give Him honor. It is the Lord that directs our path, orders our steps, is the lamp at our feet. Thank You Lord! He comforts us as only our heavenly Father can. He gives us increase, overflow--He keeps giving us His holy word. He has enlarged our territory and is showing us His face. Honor Him! Give honor, where honor is due! God has been better to us, than we have been to ourselves. Thank You for all that you have done for us! If You don't do another thing for us, You have done so much already! We have a keeper when we could not keep ourselves! We serve a miracle worker, who is still in the healing business! No matter what the doctors says, it is not over until God says. It is God that is in control of everything! We know that if Johnnie Wady could just touch the hem of Your garment, she will be made whole. We serve the great Physicain, He is not practicing like earthly doctors. We come to give Him honor! We come to give You glory! He has been so good to us! We want to honor the Lord with our actions. Faith is a action word. Your faith causes God to move. We lift up prayer requests, those known and unknown. You know the plans for Johnnie Wady, nevertheless not our will but Your will be done. We ask for forgiveness for all of our sins. Day after day, we fall short. In searching Your word we find in, Proverbs 24:16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. Fiveamprayer, get up when you fall--1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Thank You Lord for casting our sins into the sea, to be remembered no more. We honor You today, Lord.

We write in the precious blood: 1 Chronicles 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

Welcome to the overflow...
I know that Jabez gave Him honor, glory, worship and praise. We give Him honor in our actions, not in words only. James 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Fiveamprayer, your faith will move you to works that honor the Lord. Let us live our lives with all things and all areas giving honor and glory to El Elyon, the Lord most high! You heard God this morning, now what are you gonna do? Give honor where honor is due. Let us walk out this weekend meditation, seeking to please the Father. Ecclesiastes 9:11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. Hold on a little while longer. Praise Him through your tears. Just worship Him, it is like a sweet savor unto the Lord. Magnify Him, make Him bigger than your problems. Give Him your attention. Where is your focus?! Where ever your focus is is what you are magnifying. If you need to, make a correction and get the word magnified, prayer magnified, getting into His presence magnified. Walk in this weekend mediation, give God honor in actions, not just words. Read the scriptures for yourself today, especially 1 Kings 6:14-38, 7:13-50 or rather the whole chapters of 6 and 7. Visit us on facebook. It is not just about your words, it is also about your actions. Remember that faith is an action word. Have a blessed day.
