How Long?

Psalms 13; Deuteronomy 7:9; 1 Corinthians 1:9; Psalm 34:19; Matthew 6:33

We are walking in today:  How Long?

Psalms 13 1) How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? 2) How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? 3) Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; 4) Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved. 5) But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. 6) I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.  That's a question that some of us have asked, God--often!  He told us to stop second guessing Him on Monday then He is letting us know today that we are not to ask Him how long.  Now, that so little word suggests a timeline, not later or after time not some time in the future, but right now!  We serve a right now God!  He is present with us!  This is why we cannot afford to second guess God.  We are in a season of right now!  There is nothing too hard for Him!  Nor is there anything impossible for Him!  Right now God is who we serve!  We need to get to a point where we stop asking how long.  God is seeking to bring us to a place where we have our lives, not just a theory but a real practical day to day reality. What is it that David expresses in verse six, that he will sing unto the Lord, He had dealt bountifully with him.  David knew even through the going through and his emotions were focused on negative things with what he saw--darkness all around, even with time stretching out, he would hold on to God's promises.  So David even with the appearance that God isn't doing anything, he had something on the inside of him to know that was not the end of the story.  Don't ever second guess God!  Nor ask Him how long!  Things that are rushed do not result in a  good product.  As Pastor Taffe has taught if you rush the cake and take it out too soon from the oven, the cake that appeared to be all puffed up, once cooled will fall.  God knows the plans that He has for us, let Him process you so that you will not fall nor crumble under the smallest weight or issue.  David is praying in this psalm, 1) How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? 2) How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me? 3) Look on me and answer, Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, 4) and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall. 5) But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. 6) I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me--Psalms 13 from the NIV.  This sounds like a pretty sorry situation here, but the fact is that there is not a believer who hasn't been in this place in one degree or another.  When it seems like God had gone away and circumstances are such that just darkness is all that we can see, we are crying out to the Lord to change the situation. To somehow show up and do something at least, as the expression goes, even if it is something wrong.  Nothing is happening and the enemy is bombarding us in our minds--that there doesn't seem to be any answers coming.  It is pretty evident that David in hearing him pray here, this is not something that just happened yesterday, is it?  This is an on going situation in our lives and it seems like it's on going over and over again. Then we ask ourselves how long God?  How long will you just let me stay in this situation God?  How long God is it gonna be before a job comes up God?  How long God--those are the questions we begin to ask.  Oh God fix this.  Lord change this.  God how long?
There doesn't seem answers coming when we keep asking how long.  This is an on going situation, that we keep asking God how long?  He, David in the Psalms repeats this phrase several times in this text telling God that it seems like He doesn't care.  But at the end of the text he gives the corrected response, even when it seems like you can't sense Him, He is there!  When it seems like He isn't doing anything, He already has the way made for you.  We are to trust and rejoice that He has it all worked out for our good!  That we can know that God has not forsaken us!  We must have faith in the consistency of God.  Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.  1 Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.  He came to tell us to stop second guessing Him, now today He tells us to stop asking Him how long.    That we keep asking Him when He will show up in our finances, marriages, and children.  Psalm 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.  God has been so good to us!  He renews our strength and in due time we shall reap the harvest.  How long, well it hasn't really been that long.  He is still protecting and keeping you!  We have been in this battle or race and we are asking how much longer?  God says--wait on ME!  That's the God that we serve!  He knows what we are faced with.  Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.  So many of us have been asking how long, God?  He lets us know that His grace is sufficient.  You will come out on top!  If we are willing and obedient we will eat the good of the land!  God is bringing us out, stop asking God how much longer.  He is faithful who promised!  He is compassionate, so hold on, He knows everything!  You can trust His word!  Wait on Him!  Don't move too soon, or too fast.  Don't move out of the line for your blessing!  Thank You God for sending us this word.  There are so many that have been asking how long.  Wait until your change comes!  With God all things are possible, just trust God and believe Him!  Know that He is directing your path.  Wait on Him!  When we say how long, He responds, wait on Him!  Walk this out in obedience. We suffer because of not walking in obedience.  How long God?  His grace is sufficient!  Give Him glory and praise!  Stop second guessing and asking how long?  When we go through and keep asking that question, all the while God is refining us and restoring us and fine tuning us!  This is a process--we could not handle all of the upgrades that God is making on us all in one day!  And we really need some work!  Thank You God for getting us all fixed up, in steps and levels so that we are not overwhelmed by the necessary work that needs to be done in each of our lives!  God is your keeper, no matter what.  He has dealt bountifully with us!  We must recognize who He is!  He knows the plans that He has for us.  We lift up fiveamprayer this morning, that we stop asking how long.  We know that His grace is sufficient.  We lift up prayer requests for those who are asking how long, just hold on a little while longer.  In due season, it will be harvest time.  We repent for getting weary in well doing.  For being in doubt and fear because God did not give us the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind.  His word is true and it stands forever!  We come to repent Lord, that we will not be impatient on when or how You move.   As Pastor Taffe taught that God can do that thing a different way than the way we think it should be done.  Thank You God, sounds like His thought and ways are not our thoughts and ways!  Amen!  Hold on fiveamprayer, there is another way!  We know, that You know, what is best for us!  Thank You God!

We seal this prayer in His precious blood, by His Spirit:   We say nevertheless, n
ot our will but Thy will be done!  No matter how long it takes!

Welcome to the overflow...

Even in you marriage or your singleness we will say not our will but Thy will be done!  In our finances, we say not our will, Thy will be done
--You are our provider not the money!  We love you and exalt Thee!  Thank You David for teaching us on how long.  We love You, Lord!  You will see that He works all things together for the good of those that love the Lord.  Thank You for Your Spirit that is resting on us!  Hallelujah and glory to His name!  No more asking how long and second guessing--God, why are we not walking according to His word?  He is a all knowing God.  Praise Him for the going through.  He said to pick up your cross and to follow Him.  This race is not given to the swift but to he that endures until the end.  God knows that all things work together for the good of them that love the Lord.  Hold on to His unchanging hand.  O taste and see that the Lord is good!  Thank You God!  It is His grace and His mercy.  He is an all knowing God!  Take time out to read Psalms 13 today for yourself.  Really hear what David is saying, how he exclaimed how long will you forget me?  We may feel this way, also--asking God how long.  That we feel that God is hiding His face from us.  Some of us have been  looking for a job for over a year and God it letting you know that He wants you to learn to trust Him and not the job!  It is God that you need and must require!  Nothing else will nor can satisfy what is missing in your life!  He is bringing us back into relationship with Him.  It looks like every one is being blessed but you--get into His word and see that He is no respecter of persons, He is doing a new thing in your life!  God is right there at your side, in the going through!  Thank You God!  This is personal, you know that you have been been asking how long?  Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  God is telling us to seek Him first, but are you seeking Him or the things?!  He makes a way out of now way.  We must get to the point that we stop asking how long--David knew God was right there with Him, so he blessed the Lord.  That we would rejoice and trust in His unfailing love!  Singing unto the Lord, about how good He has been to you!  We thank You, Lord!  We will say nevertheless, Thy will be done!  I am getting out of asking how long!  Visit us on facebook and walk in this word today.  Nevertheless, Thy will be done!  That is our response when someone says how long.  Hold on to His unchanging hand, God knows and already has a plan for it!  Hallelujah!  Thank You God!
