Judges 7:1-2, 12, 23, 3; 2 Corinthians 12:9-10; Isaiah 42:8; Jeremiah 9:23-24; 1 Corinthians 3:21
We are walking in today: God Has Decided To Make the Weak, Even Weaker!
Judges 7:1-2
1) Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with
him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the
host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of
Moreh, in the valley. 2) And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that
are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their
hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand
hath saved me. The camp of the Midianites was north of them in the
valley near the hill of Moreh. The Lord said to Gideon, you have too
many men, for Me to deliver Midian into your hands. I know that you are
saying to yourself--I am already weak, all hell has broken out in my
life: in my marriage, my children out of control, house and church in
foreclosure, car stolen, hell on my job, or still don't have a job. Now
you tell me that God is going to make me weaker? Remember this is the
year you will see. For the plans of operation: smash Midian are
underway, but right from the beginning we see that this isn't going to
be an ordinary fight. Gideon had rounded up all the men, that he could
find. They are still woefully short in numbers all 32,000 men willing
to to put lives on the line, in order to help deliver Israel. Judges 7:12
And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east
lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their
camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude.
This is an interesting fact that Midian had 135,000 fighting men. Each
Israelite would have to to take out roughly 4,000 Midianites each, for
there to be a victory. Pretty long odds, you would think and Gideon had
reason to be more than a little anxious. You could probably imagine
his surprise, when the Lord speaks to him saying Gideon the people are
yet too many. Have such words been heard going into a battle? What war
has there ever been when being hopelessly outnumbered, the Lord goes
forth to cut the numbers down again? In the natural it seems absurd.
In the spiritual it is the very thing that God wants to teach us! Judges 7:2-3 2)
And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too
many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt
themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me. 3) Now
therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever
is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount
Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and
there remained ten thousand. So 22,000 men left leaving 10,000
men. God decided to make the weak, even weaker. Why would God do that?
Why does God allow times of weakness?! Even overwhelming odds at
times? It is so we will be more reliant upon Him and through that He
can show us more of Himself. He works on our behalf. Hopefully prevent
us from stealing His glory. The human heart loves to claim credit for
any victory or achievement. If God allows Israel to defeat Midian with
only a quarter of the number of Midian men. Then guess who would have
taken credit?! That's right, man--not God! He may have received a bit
of token praise but probably precious little in the long run. And it is
just slightly possible that you would do the same thing. When you are
weak, He will prove Himself strong. There is power in weakness. We
have seen how God delights in using weak vessels to display His strength
and faithfulness. We have also seen that this can often come about in
the times when strife and trouble is around like in Gideon's case. It
is daunting and scary when we are faced with overwhelming odds. Trials
are never nice, when you are in them. Otherwise they would not be
called trials. But we can take heart, that God has a purpose for this.
It is for strengthening of your faith. And the displaying of His life,
through you. Each crack in the clay vessel brings forth a little more
light. The Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 9) And
he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is
made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in
my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10) Therefore
I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in
persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then
am I strong. He is about to make the weak, even weaker.
God is
teaching us to depend on Him, in this season. God is teaching us, that
is why, we will see His glory. Cause there is a breaking going on. On
the inside of you. You are gonna have to let go of pride. You are
gonna have to let go of unforgiveness. You are gonna have to truly know
how to walk in the word of God! Knowing that the joy of the Lord is
our strength. His strength is made perfect in weakness! In every
storm, trial, tribulation and test--God is showing you, that He will get
the glory. The only way, is God's way! He has gone before us making
the crooked straight. Many of us are saying if one more thing goes
wrong, you just don't know what you are gonna do. You have gotta stand
on God being a keeper! You gotta keep your mind on His word, that is
how you will be able to stand through this! He is the God that makes
the impossible, possible! He will show up suddenly! He will show the
world that no one else can brought you out!! He is Jehovah Jireh,
Jehovah Rapha, Jehovah Shalom, Emmanuel--He will turn it all around and
bring us out! To God be the glory!! As Pastor Taffe has said that God
has to protect us from ourselves, that we don't attempt to take God's
glory! That is why He is processing is us through this trial, that we
know, confess and truly believe that it was God and God alone that
brought us out. That we won't dare to take credit, correcting those
that would try to put this success to our names! God will get the
glory--Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. Jeremiah 9:23-24 23)
Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither
let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his
riches: 24) But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he
understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise
lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these
things I delight, saith the LORD. 1 Corinthians 3:21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's. It
is already figured out. It is not our battle, it is the Lord's! He
will get all the glory! We are not to depend on our spouse, depend on
Him! Don't worship finances, we are to worship the Lord in spirit and
in truth! We are to count it all joy when we come across fiery trials.
We can do all things through Christ which strengthens us! Press
through this wilderness, He will show you His glory. Nobody but God can
reconcile us! To bless us with a custom job, created just for us. God
is opening up the windows of heaven and pouring our a blessing that
there will not be room enough to receive! The breaking has begun. He
is the breaking the pride off. The weak, made weaker. Give Him all the
glory for the things that He has done! He has got to break you--pride
comes before a fall. We must not continue walking in unforgiveness.
Fiveamprayer, no longer operate in your carnal self. Let us not take
God's glory. We are to give Him the glory and the praise! Prepare
yourself--don't say I can't take another thing right now--there is
something on the inside that God has to break off of you. Worship Him
in spirit and in truth. He is keeping us, day after day. Keep holding
on to His word! We should be going into to Him asking what must I
do? Not our will, but Thy will be done! Every knee will bow and
every tongue confess that He is Lord! No man gets the glory but God!
Let God have, His way. It is the only one. He is the Way, the Truth
and the Life! Turn it over to Him, fiveamprayer. You should feel
something breaking off of you. Somethings have to be broken off for us
to be used for His glory. He makes the weak, weaker. His grace is
sufficient. His strength is made perfect in weakness. We lift up
prayer requests, those known and unknown. We know that by Your stripes
we are healed. We thank You Lord for being our Jehovah Rapha. We ask
You for forgiveness for not wanting to go through. Christ was beaten
all night long, so why do we think that we don't have to go through
anything?! We must give up on our own self power, looking to and
trusting in the Lord alone. Thank You for forgiving us, casting our
sins into the sea, that they be remembered no more. Teach us how to
forgive others that we may be forgiven! The victory is ours, we just
have to keep standing on Your word!
We seal this prayer in His precious blood, by His Spirit: When I am weak, You are strong!
Welcome to the overflow...
You need to
plant that in your spirit! God is gonna get the glory! Weak, made
weaker! Thank You for the breaking. You are made in the breaking. He
shows up in the broken pieces. He is a keeper. God will rebuild us!
That is why test, trials, and tribulations are coming. God is gonna get
the glory. Stand, knowing that no weapon formed against us shall
prosper. Keep trusting in God and believing Him! Give Him all of the
glory! We will make it through, we will come out not smelling of
smoke! The God that I serve will deliver me! You know that it is
darkest hour before daybreak. Hallelujah God! He is gonna get the
glory! Stand still and know that He is God! Don't give up or lose your
mind. Thou your beginning may be small, your latter end will be
greatly increased. He says He is gonna make you weaker, tell God to get
the glory. Shout the victory! When Gideon showed up they didn't even
have to fight! God gets the glory! Can you go through this attack,
knowing that God is in control? We are coming out--not empty. Don't
you fret. Pick your head up, by the grace of God--the weak, made
weaker. There shall be no gods before Him! Hallelujah God! Read
Judges and see how the 300 men got the victory all for His glory! He
lets us know that is why the test and trials have come. God will get
the glory! Visit us on facebook, it will encourage you. Have a blessed
day!
