The Fourth Commandment Exodus 20:8-11 Remember the Sabbath day, to sanctify it .  Six days you shall work and accomplish all your work; the seventh day is Sabbath to the Lord, your God; you shall not do any work--you, your son, your daughter, your slave, your maidservant, your animal, and your convert within your gates--for in six day the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and He rested the seventh day.  Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and sanctified it.

324. You shall have a Sabbath of complete rest on Yom Kippur --Leviticus 16:29, 31 29 And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you: 31 It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.
325. You shall revere the Sanctuary --Leviticus 19:30 For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the Lord.
326. You shall bring an Omer of your First Fruits on the morrow of the rest day after Passover --Leviticus 23:10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:
327. You shall count the Omer, seven weeks from First Fruits, until the morrow, 50 days --Leviticus 23:15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:
328. You shall bring two loaves of bread as a wave offering on Shavout --Leviticus 23:17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals; they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the Lord.
329. You shall have a holy convocation on Shavout --Leviticus 23:21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.
330. You shall not do any laborious work on Shavout --Leviticus 23:21
331. You shall have a holy convocation; a remembrance with shofar blasts on Yom Teruah --Leviticus 23:24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.
332. You shall not do laborious work on Yom Teruah --Leviticus 23:25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
333.  You shall not do any work on Yom Kippur --Leviticus 23:29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.

The meddler, busybody, nosy, is the one who is in everyone's business--we all know some one and actually have been that person at some point.  Some times even thinking that we are helping out with our meddling.  This is the pursuit of information that is not our business.  And the sharing with others that which is not their business either.  How can we compare our words with a loaded weapon?  Character assassination, is not accomplished with a knife or another weapon but with words.  We have heard that the power of life and death is in our tongue but until this study or re-visit of this tongue taming, did we really realize how much our words matter?  That we have so much weight on the tip of our tongues to cause people so much pain, distress, hurt all due to a lack of control of our words and hasty speech.  How do we keep going around in this circle of those who will destroy people's lives with the lack of control over our words?  The meddler is more dangerous than the gossip who actually receives information directly from the person and them takes theses morsels and uses them for their purpose, irregardless of what is the good and right way.  We are not to be talebearers!  Don't press people for information allow them to share freely or let the issue drop.  Now consider if you are the meddler, would you want someone pumping you for information that you were not willing to share?  Would there be discomfort, embarrassment, anger rising up if you were faced with this situation?  Do you owe every one, every request that they utter towards you?  We have boundaries for the limits that protect both persons that nothing is over stepped or invaded.  Without perimeters we do not know where the line is--that we do not cross it.  To here more of this teaching click here.
