Men Of Torah: Men Standing On Yahweh's Purpose

Psalms 77 and Exodus 14

We are walking in today:  Men Of Torah:  Men Standing On Yahweh's Purpose

Teaching from the book:  Preaching and Teaching from the Old Testament:  A Guide to the Church, by Walter C. Kaiser

Witness promises throughout the Bible:
G1860
e
ppangellia
an announcement or message (for information, assent or pledge, especially a divine assurance of good.
Romans 9:4, 15:8; 2 Corinthians 1:20, 7:1; Hebrews 8:6, 11:17; 2 Peter 1:3-5

Today we are looking at the
songs of Asaph and the deliverance of Israel from Egypt.  In comparison to the trust and belief in Yahweh's promises and purposes.  Asaph's despair, then the remembering of Yahweh's victories in time past.  In contrast to our deepest despair and panic, compared to the instant fear and forgetfulness of the children of Israel.  As Pharaoh and his army pursued to re
-
enslave them or even worse.
Introspect both Asaph's
P
salm and the freed descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
, felt
 the anguish of despair.
Due to their present obstacle has them questioning
the very presence of Yahweh in their respective situations. Yet even in terror of the apparent situation at hand
,
Asaph's
P
salm goes into the casting off of his perplexity at hand. To his remembrance of Yahweh's outstretched hand in previous trials
--that
Yahweh literally showed up and showed out.
Instead we see in Exodus 14
,
Israel forgot about the great deliverance and previous miracles while enslaved in Egypt
--this
was the catalyst to their deliverance. Yet they were mentally paralyzed at the sight of Pharaoh and the advancing Egyptian army. Moses had to remind them
 all that
 Yahweh
had
led them out of the house of bondage--He had to cause them to remember what they so quickly forgot
!  We too must not so quickly forget the mighty acts by His arm of righteousness as we see with the people coming out of Egypt.  This was a drawing out of the people in the midst of
their complaints in emotional bondage (spiritual Egypt).
Yahweh still is faithful and will always and forever be faithful
! Even amid
our afflictions, moments of despair and desolation.

Is
the
 sovereign Yahweh
, have
a plan far greater than our comprehension
? Is there any
 battle
He
 has ever lost
?  Where is any one who can stand against His great power and strength?

Psalms 103:11

For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
