142. You shall confess your sins of treachery toward the Lord and make restitution --Numbers 5:6-7 6 Speak unto the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any sin that men commit, to do a trespass against the Lord, and that person be guilty; 7 Then they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed.
143. You shall not pour oil on the Meal-Offering of jealousies --Numbers 5:15 Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.
144. You shall not place frankincense on the Meal-Offering of jealousies --Numbers 5:15 Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.
145. The Kohanim shall bless the Children of Israel with the Aaronic Blessing --Numbers 6:23 Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,
146. The Kohanim shall carry the Ark on the shoulder --Numbers 7:9 But unto the sons of Kohath he gave none: because the service of the sanctuary belonging unto them was that they should bear upon their shoulders.
147. You shall sound the two silver trumpets as a remembrance before God --Numbers 10:9-10 9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies. 10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God.
148. The Levites shall not perform the work of the Kohanim --Numbers 18:3 And they shall keep thy charge, and the charge of all the tabernacle: only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, that neither they, nor ye also, die.
149. The Levites and the Kohanim shall safeguard the Sanctuary --Numbers 18:4 And they shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not come nigh unto you.
150. An alien shall not approach the Sanctuary --Numbers 18:4
151. The Kohanim shall safeguard the Holy Place and the Altar –Numbers 18:5 And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar: that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel.
As we continue the teaching and breakdown of approaching scriptures, from the Old Testament and with a diligent approach. This reflect our transforming into His students, Talmidim (disciple). How important it is to study the Scriptures from Hebraic perspective? So we continue to return to the ancient paths in understanding how our ancestors perceived the word of Yahweh, this by far broadens the understanding of the narratives.
Jeremiah 6:16-19 Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken. Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them. Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.
Finding the understanding of how to teach and preach the book of Proverbs can be difficult. Due to the passages in the narratives continually changing. Consisting of one or two lines of narratives, or a cluster of narratives then the dialogue changes to more clusters of narratives, that do not appear consistent within the passages.
Proverbs 11:1-5 A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight. When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom. The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them. Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death. The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
So how is one to teach what passages in particular? What is the chapter of Proverbs actually saying? Without losing the content and delivery of the message? Even more important--what is Yahweh saying to us?
Looking at the passages of a chapter in Proverbs, usually there are three or more sentences that make up a topic, subject, scenery and focal point. That should be our guide to section off a block of wisdom or instructions. Thus, pertaining to the subject in the sentences. Proverbs 19:20-21 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end. There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.
Compared with Proverbs 19:16-19 He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die. He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying. A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.
Together they speak of a disciplined and prudent lifestyle. Which are the ways of wisdom and also the way of His law. That's why Proverbs is looked at as a explanation of the laws given by Yahweh to Moses. Think about it. Each and every last one of the proverbs narratives can be pointed to a principal from laws of Moses.
