Jeremiah 44:1-6

This word came to Yirmeyahu concerning all the people from Y’hudah living in the land of Egypt— in Migdol, Tachpanches, Nof and the land of Patros: “Here is what Adonai-Tzva’ot, the God of Isra’el, says: ‘You have seen all the disaster I inflicted on Yerushalayim and all the cities of Y’hudah; there they are today, ruined, with no one living in them. It came about because of the wicked things they did to make me angry— sacrificing to and serving other gods, whom they did not know, neither they, nor you nor your ancestors. I had sent you all my servants the prophets, sent them frequently, with the message, “Don’t do this horrible thing which I hate!” But they neither listened nor obeyed, so as to turn from their wickedness and stop offering to other gods. Hence my fury and anger were poured out and ignited in the cities of Y’hudah and the streets of Yerushalayim; so that they became waste and desolate, as they are today.’

Understanding how to properly teach and preach from the books of the prophets has a method of co
urse, a
s do all the books of the Tanakh. In their own unique way but the particular approach comes in the form of
--
sectioning off passages and noticing key words of the prophets proclamation or warnings. Generally starts with
'
therefore

our thus sayeth the Lord Yahweh
'
.

Key sections to look for when understanding narratives in the prophecies--
A introduction: starts with the character in the revelation from Yahweh's word.
A body: an indication of a situation, the sins that caused the proclamation or warning
The development of the situation: the warning of the prophet and their rejection.
The judgment citation: generally starts with a
'
therefore
'

Concluding responses: judgments yelled out and the results there of.

Using these tools as a means to break down the passages and become one with the narrative. Can help your comprehension of the prophecies mention in the Old Testament. Looking at the
b
ooks of the prophets

e must ask the following questions.

What is their message and what does it mean?
Who is it to?
What were the people doing to get Yahweh's attention? Why did Yahweh want  to save them and not just destroy them?

These are the questions and outlines that will improve your lesson study or teaching

With our study today we can truly begin to untie the scriptures from the books of the prophets, to find what they spoke to Israel and even us today.  This breakdown will assist in how to obtain a better understanding of scripture.  To hear this teaching again click here.
