The Ninth Commandment-Do Not Bear False Witness-Slanderous Tongue

Exodus 20; Psalm 35:11; Romans 3:8; Matthew 11:18-19; Jeremiah 18:18; Psalm 15:1-3; Proverbs 12:22; 1 John 4:6; 2 Sam 15:7; Acts 5:3, 5:5; Rev 22:15; Psalm 15:2; Isaiah 5:23; Proverbs 25:18; 1 Kings 21:13; Proverbs 19:5; Deuteronomy 19:18-19; Zechariah 8:17; Psalm 50:20; Acts 24:5; 1 Timothy 3:11; Deuteronomy 22:19; 2 Kings 9:33; Psalm 19:9; Lev 19:18; 1 Corinthians 13:5; Psalm 37:6,  31:20; Acts 2:15; 1 Samuel 19:4, 5

We are walking in today:  The Ninth Commandment-Do Not Bear False Witness-Slanderous Tongue

Witness slander throughout the Bible: H1681 dibbah whispering, defamation, evil report, unfavourable saying about others
Leviticus 19:16; Numbers 14:36; 2 Samuel 19:28; Isaiah 58:9; Jeremiah 6:28, 18:18; Ezekiel 36:3; Psalm 15:2-3, 31:13, 140:12; Proverbs 10:18, 16:28, 18:8; Matthew 15:19, Romans 3:8; 2 Corinthians 12:20; Ephesians 4:31; Colossians 3:7-9; 1 Timothy 5:14

The slanderous tongue is some thing that we experience quite often--even part take in ourselves.  Under closer look and review we find that when unchecked puts us in the wrong position with those around us.  Do not allow others to speak false or harshly about someone else.  Why is this important?  The slanderer, in speaking falsehoods could actually be believed and thus murdering that persons name and reputation.  What often happens when you hear something bad about some one is to repeat it to as many people as you can.  Even puffing yourself up to say that you are protecting them from another person.  Watch and be aware but do not allow one witness who has hidden motives be the sole determining factor in decisions.
Yahweh has given us a total of three fences to tame or rather contain our tongues.  Our teeth as the first enclosure, when closed on the tongue causes pain.  Then the lips which if shut upon the tongue makes it difficult to understand.  The final fence is the ninth commandment, do not bear false witness!  When the commandments were no longer upheld, then there is no instruction to follow against speaking in haste and to bring about murder of a persons name.  The one who slanders has the devil on their tongue.  Oh but hold on, you who are only listening and not speaking--have the devil in their ear!  In our current culture, there is a whole industry that makes a profit on telling the tells of woe or crafted lies of celebrities and sports personalities.  The people who read these magazines or watch these shows even seem to believe that they know these people and trust that all that they hear is true.  With no other evidence or concern beyond their own amusement.  Whether seemingly faceless or behind someone's back--this bears a ripple effect of a fall in morality and civil customs.  The original frame work for all of this is the Torah, the teaching and instructions of Yahweh/God. Without which, we have not been able to be protected from, since we were living outside the boundaries of protection.  This direction in our behavior, how to treat people and make correction will cause each generation who upholds it to be a society, community, congregation of those full of peace, love and joy.  For those things that are not to be done are self correcting by seeing the result of those who do not adhere to the instructions.  To hear this again click here.

What Is Your Love Language--The Self-Depreciating Tongue

Exodus 4:10-12; Philippians 4:13; Luke 8:30

We are walking in today:  What Is Your Love Language--The Self-Depreciating Tongue

Witness scorn throughout the Bible: H3932  la`ag to mock, deride, ridicule
 2 Kings 19:21; Isaiah 37:22; Ezekiel 23:32; Jeremiah 18:16; Habakkuk 1:10; 2 Chronicles 30:10, 36:16; Nehemiah 2:19, 3:33; Esther 3:6; Job 12:4, 16:20; Psalm 22:7-8, 44:13, 78:4 Proverbs 29:9; Matthew 9:24; Mark 5:40; Luke 8:53, 16:14, 18:32

We may hear people who feel that they are not able to do the things that Yahweh, our God has called them to do.  We see this with Moses when he tells the Creator that he is not a good speaker.  We have to know that Elohim, Almighty God knows all about us.  We can not undermine Him by calling what He crafted by His hands as poor quality or inferior.  And yet He will call you to a task to do what He desires.  All that you have been through in your life is usually preparing you to go into this appointed season for His purposes!  All of that negative talk that we rehearse to ourselves is only to our detriment--in a lot of cases drowns out the positive truths about us, even from Yahweh Himself!  Consider scripture that says you are fearfully and wonderfully made!  In the Complete Jewish Bible it reads--Psalm 139:14 I thank you because I am awesomely made, wonderfully; your works are wonders —I know this very well.  While this tongue seems to be modest, it is actually not in agreement to what we are called and to consider ourselves by El Shaddai.  Be aware that while being on guard for the boastful tongue, we are not to put ourselves down even with our self-talk!  For He has such love for us and does not want us to mistreat ourselves by belittling ourselves nor be in agreement with those who have negative things to say about us.

Here is a list of things to rehearse that scripture says about you!

I am the salt of the earth Matthew 5:13

I am the light of the world Matthew 5:14

I am loved 1 John 3:1

I am accepted Romans 15:7

I am a child of God John 1:12

I am Jesus'/Yeshua's friend John 15:5, 14

I am a joint heir with Jesus/Yeshua, sharing His inheritance with Him Romans 8:17

I am united with God/Yahweh and one spirit with Him 1Corinthians 6:17

I am a temple of God/Yahweh, His spirit and His life live in me 1 Corinthians 3:16;

I am a member of Christ's body 1 Corinthians 12:27

I am more than a conqueror through Him Who loves me Romans 8:37

I am an overcomer by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony Revelation 12:11

I am a partaker of His divine nature 2 Peter 1:3,4

I am the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ 2 Corinthians 5:21

I am forgiven of all my sins and washed in the Blood Ephesians 1:7

I am delivered from the power of darkness and Colossians 1:13

I am healed by the stripes of Jesus/Yeshua 1 Peter 2:24

I am strengthened with all might according to His glorious power Colossians 1:11

Understanding your identity in Christ is crucial to our success.  Try reading the above list every day for a month, preferably out loud. The more we know who we are in Christ, the more our behavior will reflect our true identity.  Simply choose to believe what God says about you. Become who you are in Christ, fiveamprayer! God wants to do more in your life than you can imagine!   To hear this again click here.

We are walking in today:  Weekend Meditation--What Is Your Motive?

Witness boasting throughout the Bible: H1984 halal to shine, to shine (fig. of God's favour), to flash forth light, to praise, boast, be boastful
1 Samuel 2:3; Isaiah 10:12; Jeremiah 48:30; Ezekiel 36:2; Psalm 97:6-9; Proverbs 27:1; Romans 3:27; 5:11; 1 Corinthians 5:6, 9:15; 2 Corinthians 7:14, 10:14, 11:16-17; Galatians 6:4; Philippians 1:26; James 4:16

This arrangement of the 613 principles, the law of our Lord God Almighty, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is from the book by Rabbi Ralph Messer, Torah: Law Or Grace? Kingdom Principles For Kingdom Living.  This book can be ordered online here or in the store if you are in the Denver area here.

The Fourth Commandment Exodus 20:8-11 Remember the Sabbath day, to sanctify it .  Six days you shall work and accomplish all your work; the seventh day is Sabbath to the Lord, your God; you shall not do any work--you, your son, your daughter, your slave, your maidservant, your animal, and your convert within your gates--for in six day the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and He rested the seventh day.  Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and sanctified it.

314. You shall accomplish your work in six days and rest on the Sabbath --Exodus 23:12 Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.
315. You shall celebrate the three annual pilgrimage Festivals during the year --Exodus 23:14 Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.
316. You shall not appear before God empty-handed on the pilgrimage Festivals --Exodus 23:15 Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)
317.  You shall not allow the fat of the offerings to remain overnight --Exodus 23:18 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my sacrifice remain until the morning.
318. You shall desist from plowing and harvesting on the Sabbath --Exodus 34:21 Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.
319. All males shall appear before the Lord three times a year --Exodus 34:23 Thrice in the year shall all your menchildren appear before the Lord God, the God of Israel.
320. You shall not slaughter the Passover lamb while in the possession of leavened food --Exodus 34:25 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning.
321. You shall not kindle fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day --Exodus 35:3 Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.
322. You shall perform the incense service and offerings on Yom Kippur (Avodah) Leviticus 16
323. You shall afflict yourselves on Yom Kippur --Leviticus 16:29 And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:

The boasting tongue is what we are looking at today, fiveamprayer.  Taking credit and announcing to others what is being done.  This desire to advertise their good to the world brings about attention, but the wrong kind.  This seeking approval of men is in direct conflict to Yahweh's directions.  What credit can we take, being that He affords us all that we have or will have?  We have to know that our desire is to seek His approval alone.  There is no real benefit to getting the accolades of men over the approval of Yahweh, for only He alone is in control of all things!  Pushing Him out of the foreground, to make us the focus is never a good idea!  It would seem to suggest to ourselves, others and Yahweh Himself that you are able to maintain this ability with no assistance from anyone.  How can that which is handcrafted operated outside that which the Master Craftsman made it to do?  To hear this again click here.

Torah Portion--Tzav/Command, Leviticus 6:1-8:36; 1 Samuel 15:1-34; 2 Corinthians 1-3

Leviticus 6:1-8:36; 1 Samuel 15:1-34; 2 Corinthians 1-3

We are walking in today:  Torah Portion--Tzav/Command, Leviticus 6:1-8:36; 1 Samuel 15:1-34; 2 Corinthians 1-3

Witness peace offering throughout the Bible: H8002 requital, sacrifice for alliance or friendship
Leviticus 3:1, 3:3, 3:6, 3:9, 6:12; Ezekiel 46:2; 46:12

This portion begins with the children of Israel getting instructions on what and when to make offerings to Yahweh, giving the duties of the both the priests and the people in the bringing of offerings. There are various offerings that are not currently upheld due to the passage of time and man's traditions.  Not all of the offerings are required now, due to the perfect blood that was offered up by Yeshua.  As the animals were to be brought up with out any defect and sacrificed by the priests who would make sure that the fire on the altar, never went out.  There is an account that the fire stayed burning for 116 years before it ever went out!  That is real preparation and dedication to what Yahweh has said.  In another portion of the text 'strange fire' was offered--and it was not pleasing to Yahweh and those who supposed to do such a thing, lost their lives.
Fiveamprayer let us return to the honor and understanding of His word and directions.  Regardless of the passing of time or culture, His word stands forever!  The liberty and freedom felt in His guardrails for our lives is beyond compare!  He is loving, kind and hand-crafted us, of course He would not seek our demise!  We can all admit that we have tried our lives outside of His purpose and best will for us with little or sporadic glimpses of success.  Take a look at what He gives us to do, first the guesswork is all gone!  He even opens up our understanding in the repetition of the actions because you have a heart of obedience.   The further we go on the journey as Hebrews, ones who have crossed over--as Abram was directed by Almighty God, Yahweh to go to a land that He would show him, Genesis 12.  The blessing was in the obedience.  Will you trust that the creator of all things knows the best plan for your life?  Has He already seen the end from the beginning and the beginning from the end?  Who has a better overview of your life and situation?  As the song says, nobody greater, nobody greater--nobody greater than You, Yahweh our God! H7378 riyb to strive, contend, make a complaint
Proverbs 25:9; Isaiah 27:8; Luke 12:17; Acts 9:29; Romans 1:28-32

We have come to day 6, the argumentative tongue.  We must be aware where does this argumentative tongue come from.  For those who grew up in combative households, fierce arguments were the norm.  So much so that they desire and move to push arguments where there is no discord.  Only so that they can speak and speak until they are spent.  Nevermind that you ceased listening long ago!  This misconceived sense of power or authority is short lived and they must press the issue, any issue again!
While in this 30 days of the taming of the tongue we also find the relationship between our Hebraic roots and our Christian faith.  This return to the beginning of God's, Yahweh's word we find that there will be those who will want to discuss, dispute or argue their point.  Which is not much different from the 'discussions' regarding the various denominations of the churches.  This division is not really based on the differences of practices but the doctrine or teaching that is being upheld.  As much as we love and care for the word of God, Yahweh, we have to know that the word does not need us to defend it!  The davar Elohim or word of God stands in defense of itself.   This action of quarreling or defending His word is to our folly.  We are to make the information available to those who inquire.  Remember how friendly you were to those who beat you over the head with 'their ideas'?  The truth will stand and does not need set dressing!  For those who have a ear to hear, let them hear!  As we have learned this week to be silent if the words on your tongue are not appropriate, cut them short.  Do not persist in the conversation while the quarreler barrels along.  Since it does, take two to tangle, your silence will wind down the quarrelsome person who now has no one to return words with.  Continue to take time throughout the day, today to consider and weigh your words.  Let us be bears of life giving words to all that we meet!  We are being prepared and made ready for what Almighty God, Yahweh has in store for us to do!  To hear this again click here.

'Have You Used Your Tongue, To Sow Discord?'

Deuteronomy 17; Matthew 5:9; Proverbs 6:12-19; 10:12; Galatians 5:16-25;
Ephesians 6:12; James 4:10-12; 1 Peter 2:1; Proverbs 23:6-8; 1 Corinthians 5:5; Matthew 18:14-18; Deuteronomy 17:7; 19:19; 21:21; 22:21, 24; Titus 3:10; 2 Thessalonians 3:14-15; 1 Corinthians 5:9-11; Ephesians 4:15; 2 Corinthians 2:5-11; Matthew 3:8; Leviticus 19:17;

We are walking in today:  'Have You Used Your Tongue, To Sow Discord?'

Witness division throughout the Bible: H6304 pĕduwth to divide
Exodus 8:23-24; 2 Chronicles 5:5; Luke 12:51; John 7:40, 9:16-17; 10:19; Titus 3:10

Fiveamprayer, the sower of discord is a concern for healthy communities and families.  Wielding control over that tongue that would seek to divide and possible conquer.  But this goes deeper than just speaking unkind things about another.  This goes back to intense feeling of mistreatment--real or otherwise.  That the sower of discord would even defend their actions or take pleasure from this ungodly influence in their lives.  When left unchecked much damage can arise to those surrounding the sower of discord.  This is especially detrimental to the leader who is having the people turned to the sower's 'side of the story'.  To keep the people of Israel holy like their God, Yahweh is holy, He gives the instructions of speaking to the person to make a change and no longer stir up strife between the community.  If they still persist they are to be given time away from the community to consider their ways.    Making several attempts to regain your community member but not allowed to cause sufferings of the community as a whole.  As we learned with the boundaries that are to protect that which is important.  This even reduces the possible damage that can be inflicted when the boundaries are enforced.  This is all done in love, for they may have unknowingly become tools of the principalities that war against the righteous word of the King, Yahweh!  When we speak the truth in love, we protect both ourselves--the persons that Yahweh made in His image and likeness.  This must be upheld in love--if the sower of discord determines to continue their present course, prayerfully they may return later.  While confronting is not an easy process, but this must be done for obedience to Yahweh's instruction, the protection of others and the harmonious community for the benefit of all.  Not allowing many people to suffering under the sower of discord's tantrums and causing this behavior to become more intensified.  We have been given the way that we are to go, let us take and make the needed corrections to be in alignment with all of His word.  For He knows why we must put those things out while they are but a small problem before long they become a tsunami of barrages wreaking havoc in the whole community.  To listen to this teaching again click here.

Slow Down Your Speech, Don't Be Hasty!

Proverbs 29:20; James 3:2-8; Proverbs 18:21, 18:13; Ecclesiastes 5:2; Judges 11:30-40; James 1:19;

We are walking in today:  Slow Down Your Speech, Don't Be Hasty!

Witness hasty throughout the Bible: H7116 qatser short, impatient, in size, number, life, strength,
Isaiah 28:4; Habakkuk 1:8; Proverbs 14:29, 21:5, 29:20, Ecclesiastes 5:2, 7:9, 8:3; Daniel 2:15

Today is day 4 of taming of the tongue--we are studying the hasty tongue.  Speaking rashly, without pause, thoughtless, hurried and rushed.  We must pause to consider before speaking.  Are we speaking what we truly intend?  Are our words a statement or reaction to what the other person is saying?  In some cases we can hurt the feelings of another, that they are offended. While this could be innocently done does not reduce the damage that could be caused.  Intentional hurried speaking is very dangerous--like agreeing to things that you did not fully consider.  Let us cease from the unbridled use of our tongue--causing much pain and turmoil in the wild wielding use of our tongues.  The more that we study this book, we find word 'community' keeps coming up.  How best to build up a group of people--with care and concern for each other?  The hasty tongue forgets to consider and in the process barrels over everyone else leaving a wake of destruction in their path.  In considering how you would like to be treated or what you would  or would not stand for. So why do not subject that distasteful treatment to anyone else?  Pause and consider your words!!  Are they helpful, loving, accurate or better suited in another time or place?  How would you receive this conversation if your words were coming from your neighbor's lips?  If what you are going to say would offend you deeply--consider your word choice, tone, inflection of your comments.  The world was created by His words and He has given us power in our words as well.  Fiveamprayer, are you words medicine or poison?  Healing or hurting?  Delightful music or a thunderous clamor?  Pause and consider your words and what you are trying to portray with your words.  Are they spoken in love?  Are your words necessary?  Are they kind?  Will they be beneficial?  Can time be taken for a better selection of words or adjustment of our attitude?  To hear this again click here.

306. You shall remember the Sabbath day to sanctify --Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
307. You shall not do any work on the Sabbath-- Exodus 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

309. You shall marry your Hebrew bondwoman or designate her for your son --Exodus 21:8-9 8 If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her. 9 And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.
310. You shall assist in the redemption of a Hebrew bondswoman --Exodus 21:8-9
311. You shall not sell a Hebrew bondswoman --Exodus 21:8
312. You shall not withhold food, clothing, or marital relations from a Hebrew bondswoman --Exodus 21:10 If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.
313. You shall leave your land untended and unharvested in the seventh year --Exodus 23:11 But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.

Fiveamprayer we have to be aware of manipulation, as a issue in taming our tongues.  This can be with phrases that are said to coerce someone to do some action.  For example, sounding frustrated with the large number of boxes in their hand while standing at the closed door.  Instead of asking for some one to open the door--they may make many noises of protest from the weight of the packages.  This is not a problem for most people, yet this is manipulation.  The more serious cases could be favors that are to the detriment of the giver, or trickery that leads to their down fall as we see with Delilah and Samson.  This dishonest way of communication often preys on emotions to find which seems as a weakness but is actually overriding boundaries.  Often the manipulator has a total disregard for others, for things that are important to them.  This is a focus on what the manipulator needs or desires.
In paying attention to find out is there is a manipulator operating--some of the tools used can be non-verbal, flattery, emotional blackmail--all to obtain control over your emotions or actions.  This type of person will have you doing things to their benefit or favor even when you would not normally do these 'favors' or actions.  Being aware of how they could operate because it is not direct, rather indirect or easily misunderstood yet the context of the conversation steers the person or situation into their favor.  To here more of this click here.

The offerings and sacrifices that are taught in the beginning of the book of Leviticus, are the instructions from Almighty God, Yahweh who was showing the people how to walk with Him in holiness.  Leviticus 11:44 For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.   The love that the God of the Hebrews has for His people caused Him to instruct them in the ways to live.  What to do for unintentional sins and what happens with intentional sin?  The Hebraic mindset does not look at bringing offerings or sacrifices to appease our Creator.  It was to make temporary atonement for their trespasses.  That what their actions have done, should result in their death--but instead this charge of death falls to the animal that the priests would offer in their place.  There are different offerings or sacrifices based on the situation, take guilt for example.  This offering was for stealing or a breech of trust.  A process was given to redeem the people from their mistakes.  Instruction was available to reduce, repeat offenders of the same offenses.  Any good parent teaches their child the importance of good behavior and telling the truth.  Once the concept is clear then the consequences come in gradually.  If the behavior that was perfected is not longer upheld as worthwhile to complete, the consequences could progress.  There is a balance between having those you care for to be close to you, yet the mutual respect and care also plays a part.  We have to get out of the mindset that we have free reign to treat our Heavenly Father, Abba any way-- that we would not expect correction or consequences.  As we continue to read the Torah portion, we find more of what to do.  That is how gracious He is, He teaches us first before we are held accountable for our wrong doing, especially while unaware of our trespassing.  This kind of grace we do not experience in our current life.   The focus on the harshness of His word, totally eclipses the grace that He affords us!  In His desire to have His special treasure, us--in right standing with Him, He even came to the earth. Came covered in flesh and made the perfect atonement for our trespasses that we would be able to come into and remain in the presence of the righteous and holy God, Yahweh!  To hear more of this teaching click here

What is it that gained in using the flattering tongue?  Preying on those who are desperate for compliments or false encouragement?  Building them up on wind filled staves? Upon closer inspection we find the error.  Truly this does not enhance any friendships.  The lack of honesty shows how much respect is being shown.  But it does not stop there.  There should never be a time that this guile is used to gain or position the person for future manipulation.  This all stems from a lack of trust in He who provides richly for us in obedience of His instruction.  The centuries we have been positioned to think in a Greek mindset and value our intellect over all others.  How can the cake be greater than the baker who combined the ingredients for this delicious outcome.  The same is true with Yahweh, our Elohim, our Maker truly knows best for He formed us with His very hands.  Only the Creator knows all the details of their handiwork.  This 30 day fast is to realign us with His words, His principles operating in out lives.  Would we return to the way that it was in the beginning? How is it that we continue in the same practices that have yielded faint and false results.  Let not the flattering tongue beguile you to entice others for a preserved benefit.  Operation in this fashion will clause alliances that will come to conflict, all of this nice set dressing that hides the true intention and purposes will soon crumble under the light of true certainty.  Only those who will not seek their own favor instead of relying on His favor with those here in the earth.  Lack of trust seems to be a common root in our wayward tongue.  Take time out today to check for the words on your tongue to find the true intention behind them first.  Does this word lie in the truth or surrounded by deceit.  To here more on this teaching click here.

Have You Been Lying To Yourself, Regarding His Principles?

We are walking in today:  Have You Been Lying To Yourself, Regarding His Principles?

Witness lie/tongue throughout the Bible:  H8267 sheqer lie, deception, disappointment, falsehood, deceit, fraud, wrong, fraudulently, wrongfully (as adverb)testify falsehood, false oath, swear falsely H3956 lashown tongue, tongue of men (language), tongue (literal),

Psalm 109:2 120:2; Proverbs 6:16-19, 12:19, 21:6

This 30 day fast for our tongues will assist us in truly knowing that life and death is in the power of our tongues.  Remember that in the beginning--Yahweh spoke the world into existence.  The negative words that we have been speaking are now bearing their fruit.  One of the most overlooked fruits of the spirit is self control.  This 30 days will cause us to exercise self control.  There is no more blaming it on, the devil made me do it.  No, no and no--we have exactly what we have chosen or rather spoken.
Fiveamprayer continue in this walk as we all learn to correct, contain and restrain our speech.  We are learning to speak the kingdom of heaven's language.  That we would take our legal position spiritually, physically and verbally.  This can be a major shift for many of us that have not taken our words seriously.  We must not continue to allow any and every thing to just bubble up our of your lips.  Every aimless thought must not be an aimless utterance!
We have to see that in our current culture that is soaked in varied degrees of fabrication of stories, music, and advertisements that a lie or embellishment are often disregarded.  We have to know that a half-truth is total lie!  The exaggerations to make to the story sound better or to cast us in a better light, is leading us and our audience away from the truth.  We must not be fearful of what others think that we would compromise our words or agree to lies for our benefit.  What we can truly find and see in our lives being lived and closely reviewed that we are to be in the truth, the whole truth completely. The book referenced throughout this teaching is called Boundaries, by Henry Cloud & John Townsend.  We are preparing for our 30 day fast of our tongues.  What is it that we are speaking or not speaking?  This pause to review what we will say shows us many things about ourselves.  We have to shift from the mindset that our problems all reside outside of ourselves.  Upon this closer review we find that we have been carrying a load that was not for us to carry!  Causing us to become wearied and the other person undeveloped from what would strengthen them--bearing their own load.  The heart and good intentions of caregiving type people must be aware of setting and upholding boundaries for all relationships.  This is especially important for the relationships that would operate in manipulation and deception for the purpose of taking advantage of a kind or giving heart.  The boundaries are to protect both parties of the relationship, not over taxing one nor underwhelming the other.  Much like a fence in our yard allows access to the good to enter and the bad to exit.  We must not be a walled in fortress that the only entrance, is from a breech in the walls.  The gate in the fence allows for this passage of things in and out without damage to the boundary.
While many of us have a problem saying no to other, we have to take a closer look at that idea.  The truth is if we are not free to say no for fear of rejection, means that we are actually playing in to a manipulation that was not restricted due to a boundary not set up or upheld.  The desperate need can be overlooked for the comparison for the situation seeming very dire.  This is not heartless as we often assume.  This must be reviewed very carefully.  When the protection that was in place is overstepped, there results in consequences.  The interruption of these consequences can lead to a lack of growth and maturity to become a productive part of the community as a whole.  Yahweh's instructions for our relationship with Him and with others covers the boundaries that would cause the community to be made stronger for all members are strong and strengthened by the provision and trust found in Yahweh.  We must not interfere--if this is an consequence that Yahweh is setting before a person to bring about growth and maturity.  While we all experience uncomfortable times that cause us to grow up and no longer wallow in the things that would stifle us.
How can we tell that we are in boundary-less situation?  Often we are angered, by the situation--which lets us know that we have been trespassed against.  That these actions are not willing permitted by you but seemly forced upon or not able to be deterred.  We must be careful in out approach to not be too strict with our re-establishing of our boundaries.  We can never change someone else, but we can change our response which in turn will change how they react to us.  To hear more of the teaching click here.

Fiveamprayer in our return to our Hebraic roots and Hebrew understanding, it is time that we weight the evidence.  The context and the culture of the audience that Yeshua was speaking to.  What would they hear when He spoke?  We must also stop accrediting good sayings or wise sayings to scripture.  There are many things that are said amongst people and from pulpits that are not scriptural.  Let the word, define the word.  In reading the Bible for cover to cover, from Genesis to Revelation you will see that what is said in the first section is repeated in the second.  So what is it that Yeshua is quoting when the enemy came to tempt Him in the wilderness?  Remember the new testament had not been written yet.  The Son of God, the Word made flesh would quote someone else.  Also note that what He responds with is not a defense of Himself.  He knows who He is.  He is casting down the idea of being out of line from what Yahweh has set forth, that He comes to exhibit in the flesh.  That is how much our Yahweh, our God loves us to come done and wrap Himself in flesh to correct us!  With the reading further of scriptures we will find more meaning, even reading the whole chapter to find what is intended, what is being referred to.  The biggest thing we have to remember when reading the accounts of Yeshua is that His audience would have well known the first half of the Bible, even committed it to memory.  Remember in those days people did not have their own personal Bibles.  To have a book, it had to be hand copied and affordable only to the wealthy.  Being taught the scriptures at a young age and it being committed to memory, would hear only a few key words of Yeshua's teaching would quickly identify with that passage of the text.  Or the actions that Yeshua did would refer back to actions that come from the old testament.  We have to take scripture out of the vacuum of it's original time and cease from forcing it to operate in the 21st century.  Much understanding is lost when we lack the cultural, traditional and linguistical elements that are lost in transliteration and translation.  To hear more about weighting the evidence click here.

The Fourth Commandment Exodus 20:8-11 Remember the Sabbath day, to sanctify it .  Six days you shall work and accomplish all your work; the seventh day is Sabbath to the Lord , your God; you shall not do any work--you, your son, your daughter, your slave, your maidservant, your animal, and your convert within your gates--for in six day the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and He rested the seventh day.  Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and sanctified it.

284. You shall observe the New Moon and the beginning of the months-- Exodus 12:2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
285. You shall slaughter the Passover lamb at night on the afternoon of the 14th of Nisan-- Exodus 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
286. You shall eat the roasted Passover lamb at night on the 15th Nisan --Exodus 12:8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
287.  You shall not eat the Passover partially roasted or cooked in water --Exodus 12:19 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.
288. You shall not leave any of the Passover lamb until morning --Exodus 12:10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
289. You shall nullify the leaven from your homes on the day before Passover --Exodus 12:15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
290. You shall observe a holy convocation on the first day of Passover --Exodus 12:16 And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.
291. You shall not do any work on the first day of Passover --Exodus 12:16
292. You shall observe a holy convocation on the seventh day of Passover --Exodus 12:16
293. You shall not do any work on the seventh day of Passover --Exodus 12:16

There is a path, Fiveamprayer!  He set this all for us at the beginning!  Yahweh knew that we would not know on our own, that we would look around and see what others are doing and do likewise.  When we return to His instructions and take the focus off of religion, which often does not have much to do with upholding the entirety of His word.  This is the prescribed path, His Torah.  For those us that have and were lost, isn't it great to get directions to a place that is familiar, secure and your goal destination?  This return to the Torah, Yahweh's teaching and instruction does not seem foreign but familiar--while looking back, many of these commandments are practices that have been upheld, unbeknownst to you their origins.  Fiveamprayer, it is time to return home to the truth, the way and the life, His Torah.  This is to our benefit, well being and ultimately His perfect plan.  This is why we too must study and read to know scriptures for ourselves.  In the proper understanding and context to actually apply them to our lives and not just repeat them ad nauseam.  The Torah upon closer review--gives us every direction that we would or could need in our lives: getting married, how to treat neighbors, how to care for the widow or orphans, business dealings and even our health.  This is not something that we find in religion, which is often used to group or identify people who agree to specific terms or ideas and often practice these ideas at certain and specific times.  The Torah is not confined to these parameters, actually it is far reaching and preserving to all who follow it!  Our manufacturer who crafted us each with care would not expect that we would find all the right steps through trial and error solely, with so much on the line.  Would you allow your new born to drive a car?  Is it feasible to allow a blind child to go hiking all alone in the deepest forested areas?  Seems preposterous, right?  How much more that we the creation thought that we have the ability or wisdom to change what our Creator, Yahweh has set forth.  The actually punchline is this, though many men have tried to change His instructions and seemed successful for a time, it never negated His plan, intentions or power!   To listen to this message again click here.

We are walking in today:  The Third Commandment Wrap-up, Do Not Misuse Yahweh's Name

Witness provide throughout the Bible:  H7200 ra'ah  to see, look at, inspect, perceive, consider, have vision, to observe, to watch
Genesis 22:8, 30:30; Exodus 18:21; 1 Samuel 16:17; 2 Chronicles 2:7; Psalm 78:20-22; Matthew 10:9-10; Luke 12:33; Acts 23:24; Romans 12:17; 1 Timothy 5:8
Fiveamprayer, it is the reverence and honor that we are to give to Yahweh that was altered.  The use of titles for our almighty God, Yahweh.  This came about while some did not want to have His name misused, has over the centuries come to not be uttered at all.  The respect needed is not shown in referring to Him by a title for there are others that can be called lord for that is a title used in countries that have royalty.  Much as we have discovered that the many pagan gods that we have been blinded to, are found in many of our common practices in worshiping the Creator of the world, Yahweh.  We must not lump all of these terms together, else how do we tell the difference?  Our instruction to give His name honor is also a protection that we would not be misled into to worshiping the pagan gods that others worship.  Much has been done to protect us to remain in His safety.  Yet with changing of one thing here and another thing there, over time and generations, in which each do the same thing--we find ourselves far from our desired destination.  We have been taken so off course that many of us did not know at all, where we were supposed to be heading.  So not only did the path change but the destination.  These small changes seemly insignificant and yet when considered collectively amount to a whole lot.  All praises to Yahweh for bringing us back to the beginning!  The more that we study the beginning of the Bible we find better understanding for the latter part of the Bible.  Which is the case with most books, you read from the beginning.  Often in many books there and important things that are referred to throughout the book that is first introduced in the beginning.  The honor that we are to give to Him, to be a faithful bride to Yahweh our husband, would include not diminishing His word nor His name. When we find ourselves distant or not understanding our lives we need to remember what He had given us to do.  To hear more of this teaching click here.
