Today is day 4 of taming of the tongue--we are studying the hasty tongue.  Speaking rashly, without pause, thoughtless, hurried and rushed.  We must pause to consider before speaking.  Are we speaking what we truly intend?  Are our words a statement or reaction to what the other person is saying?  In some cases we can hurt the feelings of another, that they are offended. While this could be innocently done does not reduce the damage that could be caused.  Intentional hurried speaking is very dangerous--like agreeing to things that you did not fully consider.  Let us cease from the unbridled use of our tongue--causing much pain and turmoil in the wild wielding use of our tongues.  The more that we study this book, we find word 'community' keeps coming up.  How best to build up a group of people--with care and concern for each other?  The hasty tongue forgets to consider and in the process barrels over everyone else leaving a wake of destruction in their path.  In considering how you would like to be treated or what you would  or would not stand for. So why do not subject that distasteful treatment to anyone else?  Pause and consider your words!!  Are they helpful, loving, accurate or better suited in another time or place?  How would you receive this conversation if your words were coming from your neighbor's lips?  If what you are going to say would offend you deeply--consider your word choice, tone, inflection of your comments.  The world was created by His words and He has given us power in our words as well.  Fiveamprayer, are you words medicine or poison?  Healing or hurting?  Delightful music or a thunderous clamor?  Pause and consider your words and what you are trying to portray with your words.  Are they spoken in love?  Are your words necessary?  Are they kind?  Will they be beneficial?  Can time be taken for a better selection of words or adjustment of our attitude?  To hear this again click here.
