We are walking in today: Weighing The Evidence
Witness unity throughout the Bible: H3162 yachad union, alike, unitedness

Fiveamprayer in our return to our Hebraic roots and Hebrew understanding, it is time that we weight the evidence. The context and the culture of the audience that Yeshua was speaking to. What would they hear when He spoke? We must also stop accrediting good sayings or wise sayings to scripture. There are many things that are said amongst people and from pulpits that are not scriptural. Let the word, define the word. In reading the Bible for cover to cover, from Genesis to Revelation you will see that what is said in the first section is repeated in the second. So what is it that Yeshua is quoting when the enemy came to tempt Him in the wilderness? Remember the new testament had not been written yet. The Son of God, the Word made flesh would quote someone else. Also note that what He responds with is not a defense of Himself. He knows who He is. He is casting down the idea of being out of line from what Yahweh has set forth, that He comes to exhibit in the flesh. That is how much our Yahweh, our God loves us to come done and wrap Himself in flesh to correct us! With the reading further of scriptures we will find more meaning, even reading the whole chapter to find what is intended, what is being referred to. The biggest thing we have to remember when reading the accounts of Yeshua is that His audience would have well known the first half of the Bible, even committed it to memory. Remember in those days people did not have their own personal Bibles. To have a book, it had to be hand copied and affordable only to the wealthy. Being taught the scriptures at a young age and it being committed to memory, would hear only a few key words of Yeshua's teaching would quickly identify with that passage of the text. Or the actions that Yeshua did would refer back to actions that come from the old testament. We have to take scripture out of the vacuum of it's original time and cease from forcing it to operate in the 21st century. Much understanding is lost when we lack the cultural, traditional and linguistical elements that are lost in transliteration and translation. To hear more about weighting the evidence click here.
