We have come to day 6, the argumentative tongue.  We must be aware where does this argumentative tongue come from.  For those who grew up in combative households, fierce arguments were the norm.  So much so that they desire and move to push arguments where there is no discord.  Only so that they can speak and speak until they are spent.  Nevermind that you ceased listening long ago!  This misconceived sense of power or authority is short lived and they must press the issue, any issue again!
While in this 30 days of the taming of the tongue we also find the relationship between our Hebraic roots and our Christian faith.  This return to the beginning of God's, Yahweh's word we find that there will be those who will want to discuss, dispute or argue their point.  Which is not much different from the 'discussions' regarding the various denominations of the churches.  This division is not really based on the differences of practices but the doctrine or teaching that is being upheld.  As much as we love and care for the word of God, Yahweh, we have to know that the word does not need us to defend it!  The davar Elohim or word of God stands in defense of itself.   This action of quarreling or defending His word is to our folly.  We are to make the information available to those who inquire.  Remember how friendly you were to those who beat you over the head with 'their ideas'?  The truth will stand and does not need set dressing!  For those who have a ear to hear, let them hear!  As we have learned this week to be silent if the words on your tongue are not appropriate, cut them short.  Do not persist in the conversation while the quarreler barrels along.  Since it does, take two to tangle, your silence will wind down the quarrelsome person who now has no one to return words with.  Continue to take time throughout the day, today to consider and weigh your words.  Let us be bears of life giving words to all that we meet!  We are being prepared and made ready for what Almighty God, Yahweh has in store for us to do!  To hear this again click here.
