Say What You Mean and Mean What You Say!
Matthew 5:33-37; James 4:13-15; Genesis 3:4; Romans 12:2; James 4:7-8; Proverbs 10:12; 1 Peter 4:8; John 10:4, 10:27; Matthew 4:4; Ephesians 6:6; Psalm 23:4, 91:7; Isaiah 40:31; 1 Chronicles 4:10
We are walking in today: Say What You Mean and Mean What You Say!
Matthew 5:33-37 33) Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: 34) But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: 35) Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. 36) Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. 37) But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. Words will betray our alliance, if you are not careful. So as we are enforcing the word's that God has put in us, we have got to be careful. In order for us to enforce our words we must mean what we say and say what we mean. Have you ever met a person who was constantly saying things like, 'I swear' or 'I'm telling you the truth' or 'honest' or 'as God as my witness'? Have you ever wondered why they say such things? I think it is because they know that they have a reputation of not telling the truth or at least stretching it, near to a breaking point. The enemy knows we are standing and asking God for the impossible, our greatest alliance is the word. Don't betray our alliance by not saying what you mean and meaning what you say. Jesus said in our passage today, we are to say what we mean and mean what we say. It is the foundation of what being a Christian is all about, that we are truthful. Because we take after our Father who is truthful. Swearing, makes God a partner in our oath (Matthew 5:34-35) Everything belongs to God! That is including the heavens and the Earth! So how can you use things that you don't own as a way to back up your word?! So when, not if your word fails, how can you pay up?! Taking an oath that would put God's property on the line when your untrained and unguided word is not in total alignment with God and His word. Maybe your oath is based on something bad or in response to strong emotions and not supported by godly knowledge. Or your oath could just be a plain out lie and you have no intention of following through. Jesus is saying if you need to invoke heaven and Earth to back up your oath, then something is wrong in how people perceive you. You should not have to do it. We are not to swear by the hairs on our head, you can't make them black or white. The bottom line is this--don't bring God into your non-sense, this oath that you are making. Your character should reflect your intentions. Christians should be people of their word as it says in verse 37, let your yes, be your yes and your no, be your no. I don't think that it too hard to grasp. We need to tell the truth. By the way, being truthful includes what you don't say. Or allowing misrepresentation to come by your silence or inaction. When a Christian gives his or her word, we should know our limits. Unlike politicians who make grand promises in the hopes of getting support with no plans whatsoever to deliver on these promises. Why make promises for things outside of your control? James 4:13-15 13) Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14) Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15) For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. You know that there is one word to summarize what I am talking about this morning. Saying what you mean and meaning what you say = integrity. Alliance means giving a promise of loyalty or an action of being or acting loyal. Oath means a solemn usually formal calling upon God to be a witness to the truth of what one says or that the witness in sincerity intends to do what they say. So therefore if you are truly going to enforce the word of God, you got to say what you mean and mean what you say. The enemy knows that you are accountable for what you say, so therefore do not go back on your word. Because the enemy is waiting for you to use the word of God and then waiver in what was already said. That you say the Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want, then go out and tell someone that you don't know if you are gonna make it or not. You have gotta mean what you say and say what you mean!God is telling us this morning this power of life and death is in out tongues! We have got to be careful, in what we say and what we speak! If we are gonna enforce, then we have to say what we mean and mean what we say through the word of God. We can not waiver in what God has given us. We have to be able to stand on the word of God, no matter what! God has given us power to speak over our own lives! But we must not waiver, nor doubt or fear! Fiveamprayer stand on your God given authority. He has taken us through a study on the taming of the tongue. Then today He comes to let us know that we must say what we mean and mean what we say. Thank You Holy Spirit for leading us to all truth! We have got to know that the enemy wants to place doubt and fear over the word that God gave you. Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die. The enemy comes to cast doubt on what God has already said. Why are we entertaining other things or options? What did God say?! That is what you should be focused on, God's word. That you stand believing and trusting in His word! Saying what you mean and meaning what you say! We have to stand regardless of the situation! We will trust in Him and walk in faith. No more going back, be a man or woman of integrity. Every word from your mouth should be the truth, say what God's word is saying. That we would speak life and not the foolishness of this world--Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Follow God and His word, your gift will make room for you! Jesus, the solid Rock on which we stand! Some times you don't believe that they believe that they are being truth--don't swear an oath or vow that you can't keep. Walk it out, without doubt or fear. God told you to walk in the truth. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Hallelujah! How can you enforce the word if you are not standing on the word? We have to stand no matter what--James 4:7-8 (AMP) 7) So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you. 8) Come close to God and He will come close to you. [Recognize that you are] sinners, get your soiled hands clean; [realize that you have been disloyal] wavering individuals with divided interests, and purify your hearts [of your spiritual adultery]. Fiveamprayer let us not be unstable in our ways, we are to stand on His word. His word that stands forever! Say what you mean and mean what you say. Be real and say it in love. Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins. 1 Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. How can you enforce anything while being double minded? Mean what you say and say what you mean. That is how you enforce God's word. When you come seeking, knocking and asking you will mean what you say. We are asking God for the impossible, no matter what comes, continue to stand on His word. He is still cleaning us up! God is coming back for a church without spot or wrinkle. His word that goes out will not come back void. All we have is Your word! We stand on Your word, not wavering no matter what the flesh says. We say all kinds of stuff we don't mean and have no intentions to do that thing at all. Keep us on the potter's wheel, Lord. We must say what you mean and mean what we say. God keep stripping us until we get it right with You. We continue through this journey to trust You not leaning to our own understanding. Say what you mean and mean what you say. The enemy knows that we were studying the taming of the tongue for 30 days, we know that he is a deceiver. The devil knows we are asking for the impossible don't let him trip you up. John 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. That we are so build up in Your word that we can really stand on no weapon that is formed against us shall prosper! Fiveamprayer, we must really have scripture come alive in our lives that we can say what we mean and mean what we say! Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. We have to walk out that scripture that God gives us, to make it through. Really mean it and stand on His word--even while you are going through. His word is how you make it through! Time out for just throwing our scriptures, we are to stand on God's word. While we make that confession not just as lip service but from the heart, from a position of belief in God's mighty power in His word. Ask God to help your unbelief, so that you can walk out what you mean and say what you mean. Now is not the time to fall apart, stand on His word. Tell the devil that he is a liar! Stand on God's word! It is the only thing that we can stand on! Our words and actions must line up with His word. We can mean what we say. Call Him Jehovah Jireh, He is the God who provides, provision is not from the job. The job maybe your resource but God is your source! When we resist the devil, he has to flee from us. Don't waiver in your mind, stand on God's word. We lift up fiveamprayer this morning that You have given us one word, to mean what we say and to say what we mean. Father, You alone supply all of our needs, that we are already healed by His stripes. We lift up prayer requests those known and unknown. Have them to speak Your words over their life. We have an everlasting word and that we would mean what we say. We come to repent that we have said Your word and not mean it. Ephesians 6:6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart. Thank You Lord for coming to get us cleaned up and in order with You! Help our unbelief! You, bid Peter to walk out on the water with You, with his eyes on You, he walked on Your word, come. We stand believing and trusting in His word.
We seal this prayer in His precious blood, by His Spirit: I shall have what I shall speak. All because I say what I mean and mean what I say. We serve notice that we are all in the enemies camp and taking back all that you stole!
Welcome to the overflow...
This joy I have, the world didn't give it and the world can't take it away. Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. We have to say what we mean and mean what we say. Psalm 91:7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. God is for us, who can stand against us?! We are walking into the enemies camp, covered in the blood of Jesus--there is still power in the blood. When the enemy comes in like a flood, God lifts up a standard against him. Thank You God for Your word--there is power in Your word. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. We can't faint now! We shall reap the harvest if we faint not! It is Your word God. We serve the Alpha and Omega, He knows the beginning from the end and the end from the beginning. He knows the plans that He has for us. Why are you worried?! He gives us peace that we can rest in, the devil only comes bearing lies. We must say what we mean and mean what we say. Hallelujah God! We thank You Lord! The joy of the Lord is our strength! We can do all things through Christ which strengthens us! You say it but do you mean it?! More than a conqueror, more than a overcomer--are you meaning what you say and saying what you mean? Are you really casting aside every weight that would so easily beset us? God always has a ram in the bush! Get in His word! Eat the word, truly walk in His word. Say what you mean and mean what you say. The Lord is our Shepherd and we shall not want! Will He really make a way for us? Are you trusting in the only wise God? Like when Jabez prayed to God he had to say what he meant and meant what he said. 1 Chronicles 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. He meant what he said and look at God's response, He grants what Jabez requested. Thank You Lord! He is just that good! Seek the Lord while He may be found. Call on Him while He is near. It is Revelation time. It is about to get worse, that is why He is equipping us with His word. So that we would mean what we say and say what we mean. Get into His word so you can speak His word and watch what His word made manifest in our lives. Have a wonderfully blessed day!
