We are walking in today: Taming The Tongue--The Know-It-All And Divisive Tongue
Proverbs 12:23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Ephesians 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
2 Corinthians 1:12-13 (AMP) 12)
It is a reason for pride and exultation to which our conscience
testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world [generally] and
especially toward you, with devout and pure motives and godly sincerity,
not in fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God (the unmerited favor and
merciful kindness by which God, exerting His holy influence upon souls,
turns them to Christ, and keeps, strengthens, and increases them in
Christian virtues). 13) For we write you nothing else but simply what
you can read and understand [there is no double meaning to what we say],
and I hope that you will become thoroughly acquainted [with divine
things] and know and understand [them] accurately and well to the end,
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever
things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of
good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think
on these things.
Genesis 1:26-28 (MSG) God spoke: “Let us make human beings
in our image, make them reflecting our nature So they can be
responsible for the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the cattle,
And, yes, Earth itself, and every animal that moves on the face of
Earth.” God created human beings; he created them godlike, Reflecting
God’s nature. He created them male and female. God blessed them:
“Prosper! Reproduce! Fill Earth! Take charge! Be responsible for fish in
the sea and birds in the air, for every living thing that moves on the
face of Earth.”
Psalm 55:18 (AMP) He has redeemed my life in
peace from the battle that was against me [so that none came near me],
for they were many who strove with me.Proverbs 16:7 (AMP) When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
Zechariah 8:16 (AMP) These
are the things that you shall do: speak every man the truth with his
neighbor; render the truth and pronounce the judgment or verdict that
makes for peace in [the courts at] your gates.
Malachi 2:4-6 (MSG) “Maybe
that will wake you up. Maybe then you’ll realize that I’m indicting you
in order to put new life into my covenant with the priests of Levi, the
covenant of GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies. My covenant with Levi was to give
life and peace. I kept my covenant with him, and he honored me. He stood
in reverent awe before me. He taught the truth and did not lie. He
walked with me in peace and uprightness. He kept many out of the ditch,
kept them on the road. For where two or three are gathered together in my
name, there am I in the midst of them.
Proverbs 17:9 (AMP)He who covers and forgives an offense seeks love, but he who repeats or harps on a matter separates even close friends.Proverbs 19:11 (AMP) Good sense makes a man restrain his anger, and it is his glory to overlook a transgression or an offense.
Thank you for continuing on this study of the tongue
brought to us by Sandy Bell. We thank You God for her obedience and her
time spent in study to deliver this study here on the line. We pray
that You would pour back into her for all that she has poured out on
this line! Today we are learning about the know-it-all and divisive
tongue. This is something that we have all dealt with at some point
whether having to hear about all that another knows or ourselves
over-sharing all that we think we know. That women when trying
to inquire of men and not be controlling to ask 'have you considered'
instead of 'you should'. Husbands can learn to say yes dear, that there
is room to grow, in dealing with wives. That we can actually use these
skills in speaking with our children, friends, co-workers even
ourselves. We are to have words that speak peace and a drawing together
not separating our brothers and sisters! Thank You God for teaching us
more on the tongue. Thank You that You are showing us the error of our
ways that we go back to how You made us, in Your image and likeliness.
Fiveamprayer we have to know what we are reflecting--is it the light
and peace of God? Or are we causing the peace to be disrupted? Let us
follow the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit in our thoughts and
what we speak! Thank You Lord for helping us get out tongue right! We
pray that You would build up Sandy Bell and we know that by Your stripes
she is already healed! Thank You God for such a on time word for this
season and getting us ready to walk into 2013 empowered by Your word and
strength! Amen! To hear this again click here.
We seal this prayer in His precious blood, by His Spirit: I am prudent and do not flaunt my knowledge. I will make every effort to refrain from division and make effort to make peace.
