We are walking in today:  Taming The Tongue--The Slanderous Tongue

Proverbs 10:18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
Psalm 15:1-3 1) Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? 2) He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. 3) He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
3 John 1:10 Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.
Psalm 75:6-7 6) For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
7) But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
Isaiah 14:27 For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
Proverbs 13:3 He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
James 4:11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Leviticus 19:17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
Proverbs 9:8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
Proverbs 13:1 A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.
Ecclesiastes 7:5 It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.1 Corinthians 3:18-4:5 18) Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 19) For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 20) And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain. 21) Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's; 22) Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's; 23) And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's. 1) Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2) Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. 3) But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. 4) For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. 5) Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
Matthew 22:35-37 (AMP) 35) And one of their number, a lawyer, asked Him a question to test Him. 36) Teacher, which kind of commandment is great and important (the principal kind) in the Law? [Some commandments are light—which are heavy?] 37) And He replied to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (intellect).
2 Corinthians 12:20 (AMP) For I am fearful that somehow or other I may come and find you not as I desire to find you, and that you may find me too not as you want to find me—that perhaps there may be factions (quarreling), jealousy, temper (wrath, intrigues, rivalry, divided loyalties), selfishness, whispering, gossip, arrogance (self-assertion), and disorder among you.
James 1:19 (AMP) Understand [this], my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear [a ready listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry.

Thank You God for showing up this morning to continue in correcting us on how and what we speak!  Thank You God for getting us cleaned up from the inside out, that we can be more and more like You.  That we speak the truth in love, and really have a pure motive to uplift our brothers and sisters.  Fiveamprayer, we must seek the things that please You and that only!  Let us put away having things to only be in agreement with our flesh.  Help us Lord, have us walk this out in our spirit-man, while being led by the Holy Spirit. Thank You God for coming to get us lined up with You!  We come this morning to repent for the wrong we have done, said and thought.  Help us God to speak life, love and peace to all that we meet.  For those instances where we need intervention we need to look to You in prayer not in backbiting or talking about others behind their back!  Help us God to speak what You would have us to speak.  God we pray that You would pour back into Sandy Bell for delivering a on-time word this morning.  Thank You God for her obedience to what You gave her to speak!  Continue to cover, keep and bless her!  Amen!

We seal this prayer in His precious blood, by His Spirit:  Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Ephesians 4:31-32 (AMP) 31) Let all bitterness and indignation and wrath (passion, rage, bad temper) and resentment (anger, animosity) and quarreling (brawling, clamor, contention) and slander (evil-speaking, abusive or blasphemous language) be banished from you, with all malice (spite, ill will, or baseness of any kind). 32) And become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely], as God in Christ forgave you.
