We are walking in today:  Taming The Tongue--The Meddling Tongue

Proverbs 26:17 (NIV) Like one who grabs a stray dog by the ears    is someone who rushes into a quarrel not their own.
2 Thessalonians 3:11
(NIV) We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies.
1 Peter 4:15
(NIV) If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler.
Proverbs 17:27
(NIV) The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint, and whoever has understanding is even-tempered.

Proverbs 22:6 (NIV) Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
Isaiah 30:21 (NIV) Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
Deuteronomy 1:31-33 (NIV) 31) and in the wilderness. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.”  32) In spite of this, you did not trust in the Lord your God, 33) who went ahead of you on your journey, in fire by night and in a cloud by day, to search out places for you to camp and to show you the way you should go.
Proverbs 13:1
A wise son heeds his father’s instruction, but a mocker does not respond to rebukes.

Thank You for joining us on our continued study of Taming The Tongue.  This morning we discuss the meddling tongue.  We thank Sandy Bell for her time and preparation and study of this unruly thing, the tongue.  We pray that You would pour back in to her for all that she pours out on this line and in study with You.  Thank You Lord that You continue to cover and keep her in the palm of Your hand, Lord!  Lord we pray for ourselves that we truly walk in all of the corrections that You have sent us on the tongue.  Lord, let fiveamprayer have a changed mind—that we truly walk in this.  We must check ourselves to see if we have been operating in a meddling tongue.  We must not allow our concern for others to over step the boundaries, to go to another place that is truly not our business.  We must repent for the times that we were meddling, God has called us to be encouragers and up lifters!  We have to be wise in the use of the power that is in our tongue.  Are you speaking life or doubt and despair?  Our questions should be leading the listener to seek out God and the heavenly things of the kingdom!  We will have to guard this wild animal that lives in our mouths, that our teeth would be a cage for this unruly thing!  We must follow the leading and prompting of the Holy Spirit, that we speak what is needed in that time.  Sometimes we are just providing noise pollution instead of being still and letting God lead them in His way.  We have to set down that we know best for everyone else--Proverbs 12:15 (NIV) The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.  Seems that there is more benefit to listening than there is to speaking without knowledge!  Proverbs 10:8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fallProverbs 8:33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.  Job 34:2 Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.  Proverbs 16:23 The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.  Lord, thank You for coming to teach us how to operate our mouths!  And that You would come to add learning to out lips!  We bless You name Lord!  Thank You for loving us so much that You correct us!  To listen to this teaching, click here.

We seal this prayer in His precious blood, by His Spirit:  I am genuinely interested in others and seek to help and serve them.  We will genuinely seek You God for ourselves and the concerns that we have for others.  Teach us the difference in a genuine concern for others instead of meddling.
