Taming The Tongue--The Self-Absorbed Tongue

Philippians 2:4; Esther 5; Romans 8:5-8; 2 Timothy 3:1-5; Proverbs 12:20;
Isaiah 55:12; Romans 14:17;  Romans 15:13; Isaiah 26:3; 2 Corinthians 13:11; Romans 13:8; Matthew 2:2,9-11

We are walking in today:  Taming The Tongue--The Self-Absorbed Tongue

Philippians 2:4 (AMP) Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others.
Romans 8:5-8 (MSG) Those who think they can do it on their own end up obsessed with measuring their own moral muscle but never get around to exercising it in real life. Those who trust God’s action in them find that God’s Spirit is in them—living and breathing God! Obsession with self in these matters is a dead end; attention to God leads us out into the open, into a spacious, free life. Focusing on the self is the opposite of focusing on God. Anyone completely absorbed in self ignores God, ends up thinking more about self than God. That person ignores who God is and what he is doing. And God isn’t pleased at being ignored.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 (MSG) Don’t be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God. They’ll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they’re animals. Stay clear of these people.

Proverbs 12:20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.
Isaiah 55:12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Matthew 2:2,9-11
2) Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. 9) When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. 10) When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. 11) And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.
So what are we talking about right now?  Is is a word of peace or joy?  Or is it all about what is in it for me?  Really the question is what would God have us do or say?  We must not be seeking to gather more to ourselves, even beyond what we could actually afford!  We must really consider giving to others, instead of being so self-absorbed!  We must seek after the things that please God, that we are looking to do the things that uplift of the kingdom of God!  That we would be selfless, looking to share with others and to really walk in the importance of this season--that You gave Your only begotten Son, Jesus!  We must really listen to those that are hurting and that we pray and lift them up to You, God.  Let us walk in Your peace and joy in this season, that we be not caught up in the ways of the world.  Let us put ourselves aside and seek and pursue the heavenly things!  That we do a self check and strive and reach for the good and holy things.  That we, fiveamprayer would show the love of Christ to others, in an on time word, or a smile or lifting up those in need of prayer.  Let us consider this acronym   Jesus first, Others second and You last= JOY!  We thank You, God for Your humble servant, Sandy Bell.  Thank You for her obedience, that she spends time in preparation of this teaching on the tongue.  We ask that You would pour back into her for all that she has poured out on this line.  Thank You God for bringing us this word right now in this season, that we would put the focus back to where it should always be--on Jesus Christ the Messiah, Your only begotten Son, that You gave to mankind, because You so loved the world.  You have set the best example of how to give the very best, the true treasure and to love beyond what man is able to do.  We must strive and reach to be like You, God and love the most and not be overly concerned with ourselves and things when we have been redeemed and restored back to the Father!  To hear this again click here.

We seal this prayer in His precious blood, by His Spirit:  I will become others-absorbed instead of self-absorbed!  We must wait for the answer!  It is better to give than to receive!
