Tame The Tongue--The Lying Tongue.

Proverbs 12:22; 1 Peter 3:10; Genesis 22; 1 Kings 17:24; John 1:14; Colossians 1:5;

We are walking in today:  Tame The Tongue--The Lying Tongue.

Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.

1 Peter 3:10  For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

Genesis 22, the whole chapter
1 Kings 17:24 And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Colossians 1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

Thank You Sandy for teaching us about the lying tongue.  That we must be aware and really push to speak the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth!  Sounds like we are to speak God's word!  Fiveamprayer we are to really review what we are speaking and even the motives behind what we say.  Is this something that we say to make us look better or to gain things in a unjust way?  We do not have to resort to lies and deceit we can simply ask God and He can give it to us!  Let us be mindful of what we are speaking and what it is that we are looking for our words to create.  We will strive to speak the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth! Thank You God for showing up this morning and teaching us to be more like You.  We pray that You would pour back into Sandy for the the time she has spent in preparation for this lesson.  Thank You for Your willing and humble servant giving us more understanding on this tongue.  To listen this message click here.

We seal this prayer in His precious blood, by His Spirit:  I will think before I speak!
