We are walking in today:  Taming The Tongue--The Belittling Tongue

Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
Proverbs 25:11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.
Deuteronomy 3:28
But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.1 Samuel 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
Psalm 9:9
The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
2 Chronicles 10:7
And they spake unto him, saying, If thou be kind to this people, and please them, and speak good words to them, they will be thy servants for ever.
1 Peter 3:10
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
Proverbs 27:17
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:Habakkuk 1:12 Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.
Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Thank You God for coming this morning through Your servant Sandy Bell, teaching us about the belittling tongue.  Thank You for correcting us!  That You care so much for us that You come to correct and reprove us!  We are being made new in how we speak!  Thank You God for Your mercy and grace!  Proverbs 3:12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.  Let us go about our day today being a voice and word of encouragement to all that you meet!  How do you know that your encouraging word is just what that other person needs to hear in that moment?  Will you be obedient to the prompting of the Holy Spirit, or speak just any old thing?  We have to cast away our flesh and seek to do the things that please the Father.  That we would be a voice that is lifting up others and seeking to speak peace and love to others.  Thank You for Sandy Bell and pour back into her for all that she pours out on the line and in study of the tongue.  Thank You for her obedience and willingness to serve You!  We are learning that we have to be quiet and really hear from You, God.  Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.  That we place and keep our trust in the most high God--Psalm 3:2-4 2) Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah. 3) But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. 4) I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.  We have to encourage our children, tell them what God says about them.  Love on them that there is no room to hear the lies of the enemy.  We are to speak life in every conversation with every person we speak with!  Find something good in that person and speak life and encouragement!  To listen to this message click here.

We seal this prayer in His precious blood, by His Spirit:  I will build others up instead of tearing them down with my words!  I will use my words to build and not to tear down!!
