Taming The Tongue--The Gossiping Tongue

Proverbs 18:8; Philippians 4:8; Proverbs 20:19 ; James 3:7-8; Proverbs 26:22

We are walking in today:  Taming The Tongue--The Gossiping Tongue

Proverbs 18:8
The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Proverbs 20:19 He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.
James 3:7-8 7) For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: 8) But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
Proverbs 26:22
The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

God we thank You for sending us a word on gossip.  That we would not be quick to listen and tell others what we have heard--our response should be to go immediately into prayer, lifting those up in need of prayer.  Let us no longer walk in a need to fit in or 'belong' and participate in gossip.  Thank You God for getting our tongue in line with Your word.  Thank You God for burning off more of our old ways.  We praise and lift up Your name that there is none like You.  Thank You for forgiving us that we accept and walk in Your correction to continue to die daily to the flesh.  No longer doing the old things, because You have made us new creatures in Christ Jesus!  Thank You Lord for sending us this word this morning.  Bless and keep Your humble servant, Sandy Bell.  Pour back into her for her time and study of the tongue.  We thank You God for her!  Thank You God for getting our tongues right and in alignment with You!  To hear more on this click here

We seal this prayer in His precious blood, by His Spirit:  I refuse to be a busy body!  My tongue is not a instrument to be used for gossip!  My tongue is to be used to give God glory!  What rolls off of your tongue?  Holy Spirit tame our tongues!
